I really like this dress for a couple weddings/events I have this year, but don't particularly want to spend £285 on it.

Could anyone help me find similar at a lower price? Ideally below £75ish

I hadn't heard of this webshop until I saw it on MN. Looks like it might fit the bill.

It's red!

livingoffcoffee · 10/07/2021 07:20

Thanks all, but maybe I'm being too picky!

I really like that the one in OP is a simple silhouette, but not bodycon/tight, and midi length...think those are the main criteria

Speaking from bitter experience, sometimes it’s better just to go with the one you really like if you can afford it. I’ve wasted so much money on things that are “similar but not quite” which have subsequently ended up at the charity shop it’s ridiculous. Could have bought the original item and enjoyed owning it.

Girlonatubetrain2 · 10/07/2021 07:36

The silkfred one is lovely!

BusySittingDown · 10/07/2021 07:36

This?
although it looks more casual than the original.

wedswench · 10/07/2021 07:38

I hate to be a party popper but... red? At a wedding?

What's wrong with wearing red at a wedding? If I had the figure for it I'd wear something like that to a wedding.

Not heard of this brand, but looks quite similar

acatcalledjohn · 10/07/2021 07:46

Sezane, comes in blue and purple.

I prefer the burgundy one, especially for a wedding - I'm old fashioned, but bright red and too much shoulder - one or the other, not both.

Doublestar · 10/07/2021 07:51

I agree you will look like you are trying to steal attention away from the bride in that shoulderless red one - depending on how good-looking and sexy you are of course! It's very "look at me"! Just something to think about.

It' would be perfect for a hot date!

PoppityPop · 10/07/2021 07:53

I think red for a wedding is fine 🤷🏻‍♀️ Gorgeous dress OP!

coulditbecominghome · 10/07/2021 07:56

Reformation dresses are lovely because of the fit & the way the fabric flows.

weekend2021 · 10/07/2021 07:58

The Karen Millen one suggested by acatcalledjohn one is much nicer I think

I do too - but not red, tight, shoulderless...maybe I'm getting old!

GorgeousGoldies · 10/07/2021 08:02

Actually, that site I suggested looks a bit dodgy after further inspection.

Didn’t notice the wedding part; I’m not sure it’s really suitable for a wedding, unless a black tie affair.

HelloDulling · 10/07/2021 08:02

I didn’t know red for a wedding was a no-no.

That dress is very nipple-grazing for a wedding ceremony though.

Pretty Kitty has a load of red dresses to choose from, and lots with that Bardot style neckline. It's really cheap but I've liked everything I've got from there.

PoppityPop · 10/07/2021 08:26

OP- you say weddings / events. Is it the ceremony or just the evening part?

Miseryisabutterfly · 10/07/2021 08:41

I love the reformation dress.

People are so weird with wedding ‘etiquette’.

livingoffcoffee · 10/07/2021 08:42

Interesting response to the thought of red at a wedding! I've never heard that as no-go before. Actually, looking at photos from my wedding and others I've been to there's usually a couple in red or bright orange.

This particular wedding would be the ceremony and evening. But not a church ceremony.
