Help - haircut in 3 hours, what to do?!

I posted miserable after my last haircut at Christmas - every salon I go to gives me the same boring long layered hair cut, I ask them for suggestions but obviously they aren’t comfortable doing something risky without me asking.

This is my very messy hair now (excuse how awful I look, just woke up 😂). Would love a fringe of some kind but can’t even figure out what shape my face is so no idea what would suit!

Please wise stylish people, help me! It’s my birthday, I’m sick of looking crap. Soon I have to make YouTube videos for my business (art tutorials basically) and I would like to look reasonably okay!

Throw photos at me!

Dear god. I think my face shape is “moon”.

What about going for a curtain fringe for now and shorter in length, much easier to manage

Happy Birthday!

I think you'd suit a full and heavier side fringe that then the end blends into your hair. Your length is okay but think it would look better with choppy layers.

🤣 did laugh at this!! Hard to tell with your glasses on but looks like you have an oval shaped face which more or less suits anything!! You could definitely pull off a fringe but they are a lot of maintenance (which is why I no longer have one as I love that wash and go life!)

I’ve learnt with hairdressers, you should look at styles you like and take pictures in

amymel2016 · 02/07/2021 07:24

How about one of these OP?

I think a fringe would really suit you and maybe a bit taken off the length. Just below shoulder kind of length.
I really like Jenna Coleman's style and think it would suit you.
Happy birthday!

Watching with interest as you and I have an identical shaped face and hair!

I went to a nice salon and paid for a consultation last year and still ended up with the same non style!

My problem is that when I’ve tried a fringe it won’t sit where it’s supposed to (either curls or sticks up or looks weird when I straighten it as the rest of my hair is wavy). Anyone have any tips?

(Also @CupOfTPlease can you help me with what choppy layers look like please? I am so clueless...!)

Selfienamechange · 02/07/2021 07:43

Thanks everyone! I have a slight fear of curtain bangs as they look so good on some people but feel like they’d drag out my already long face a bit? I quite like these but not sure if I could pull off that short (had a traumatic bob experience as a teen), I did have a fringe once many years ago but my face was about half the width then 😂

I'd definitely go for the chop. We'll above shoulders Bob with a fringe. Keeping it relaxed and wavy. ☺️

My dream is Zooey Deschanel’s hair but I fear it won’t work without also getting her face.

I quite like this person’s fringe with glasses but maybe that’s too much fringe for a first try

Ooh, you’re braver than me! Might have to work up to that!

Happy Birthday!

I'd say go for a fringe, I have a long face which looked even longer when I grew the fringe out, curtain fringe only marginally better.
I think it needs to be shorter - maybe try just below your shoulder this time as a stepping stone to a little shorter?

LetItGoHome · 02/07/2021 07:55

😂😂 Perhaps! But you feeling like that is probably why you come out of the hairdresser's looking the same each time! It's just hair, that grows. I still vote for a proper change. Especially with your work art videos. ☺️🤗

Yellowbowlbanana · 02/07/2021 07:56

Happy Birthday!

I second bob with a fringe. You could defo carry it off.

QuimKardashian · 02/07/2021 08:00

Definitely get a good chunk of length cut off, and get a style or its just 'hair'
A good hairdresser will suggest what will suit you

GaynorsTrainers · 02/07/2021 08:02

Yes, long bob cut with a fringe! Go for it!
I think you'll carry it off. Summers here!

PaniniHead · 02/07/2021 08:03

I think where the front layer ends in your photo would be a great length on you

GaynorsTrainers · 02/07/2021 08:05

This sort of thing!

Selfienamechange · 02/07/2021 08:05

Thanks everyone. I think maybe I’ll go for a long bob with fringe this time and if I like it work up shorter! I wear my hair up all the time and I like the safety of being able to tie it up or at least pin it back if I don’t like it - I think that’s why I’m wary of much shorter styles, especially as I look awful in hats 😬

What do we think of this kind of fringe - too much with glasses maybe?

I’m so jealous of people who’ve managed to find the hair style that really suits them - I always wonder if it was by accident or whether they saw some kind of hair psychic who knew what would be best.

This sort of thing!
See I look at that and think it’s looks amazing on her but I could never pull it off. I’m such a hair wimp - and yes, this is why I’ve had the same boring long layered haircut for about 15 years.

Happy birthday! Go for the Zooey whatsherface!
If it looks rubbish (it won’t!) you can chop it off into a Bob!
Be wild op!

Seesawmummadaw · 02/07/2021 08:07

Ooh I like the last one

SoapboxFox · 02/07/2021 08:10

You would definitely suit a bob with a fringe. I think somewhere around chin length would look great.
