The shoes destroy that outfit!

I agree paradyning. And the dark blazer is too heavy with the summer floral dress. And the bag isn't right colour-wise either. It's a thumbs down from me I'm afraid.

I like Leti's dress from today. The shoes really lift it.

Sophie's dress is nice too. Not a fan of her shoes, however, though they look sensible.

Sophie & Edward were visiting Forfar, the town of his Earldom, which he was given in 2019, so very appropriate that he was wearing the tartan created for him there.
I thought Sophie was also dressed appropriately, with shoes suitable to walk around the golf course, though I agree hers wasn't a stunningly stylish look.

The royals always spend a large chunk of the summer in Scotland, starting immediately after Ascot, but this year they really are there in force, with a busy programme of events. All part of raising their Scottish profile in an attempt to weaken demands for Scottish independence. (Allegedly!)

I agree that the jacket was too dark, although I do like the dress. I quite liked the shoes as they make a change from the ubiquitous sky high stilleto court shoes.

Yes, if Sophie had worn a jacket in one of the colours of the flowers, perhaps the bright pink or yellow, it would have looked more summery, and more put together.

Possibly controversial but I think Sophie has a bit of a Max vibe about her and I think she should have a go at the OTT colour and jewellery - break out of the conservative conformist dressing as she seems to get so close to getting it right but always gets it slightly wrong.

Here's someone else we've not seen for a while - Rania of Jordan. I quite like her blue dress. I'd probably ditch the striped top underneath but am guessing she's wearing that to conform to a dress code.

Individually all of the items are ok, but jacket, dress, shoes and bag don’t necessarily go together. In a way I admire Sophie for not being a clothes horse.

Agree Sophie always looks fine and very occasionally amazing.
She's only a few years older than me and I would love to see her pushing the fashion boundaries a bit. Us middle aged women need all the inspiration we can get!

And I agree, individually the dress, jacket and shoes are all ok but it doesn't work as an outfit.

A yellow or pink version of the jacket would have been perfect with yesterday's dress (which I really liked but not with the dark blazer).

She so obviously found a comfy pair of shoes and has bought a pair in every colour. They are not improved in this colour way

I don't like being hard on Sophie’s fashion choices because I think she's a real asset to the RF, but I'm afraid I really dislike her outfit today.

The pink dress has a 1980s bridesmaid vibe about it to me (maybe it's the trim on the hem which reinforces that?), and then none of the accessories co-ordinate with the dress or with each other. The whole look is not coherent. Maybe she would do better opting for a bolder Max-type look as suggested by a pp.

I preferred yesterday’s outfit. I don’t blame her at all for choosing comfortable shoes though. I’d struggle to walk in the usual pointy stilettos they all seem to favour. Perhaps if she wore trousers or jumpsuit the shoes would be less noticeable. (I’m sure I remember her wearing a jumpsuit at some point in the past - but I couldn’t obviously find a picture, so perhaps I’m confusing her with someone else).

Today's look on Sophie isn't great, I agree with pp about the individual items, but the outfits aren't really working. I know she's had health problems, and I heard her talk about a difficult menopause, so it gets difficult into your 50s. She's also not been bankrolled by Charles like Kate and Meghan, so the bespoke McQueen, Givenchy and Dior isn't available to her.
I agree that she should do a Max and just go for it with colour and texture - and jewellery!

In Auld Reekie today, at the shopping centre, then visiting businesses on the Royal Mile.

I prefer this green dress, it's a darker colour than she usually goes for.

The pale pink outfit is ok but is that the dreaded double breasted blazer I see on Edward?
