Hello lovely Royal style fans. Keep the pics, observations and witticisms coming.....

Though wouldn't it be hilarious if one or some of the royals mentioned are MNetters & have seen or even contributed to this thread (I have my suspicions 😂) or have friends who are on MN & have told them about our threads.

I am aware that there are many incognito or not celebs who are MNetters or possible MNetters.
I could see Kate & Sophie as MNetters.
Can you imagine Anne feeling quite pleased with herself if she knew that we were admiring her in her 70s outfits & then wondering why we didn't have anything better to do 😂

No, I think Max would be the last (wo)man standing. CPM and Kate would nurse white wine spritzers all night and leave early because they had Pilates in the morning!

CPV would get stuck sat next to Charlene who'd regale her with all her woes about life with Albert after half a bottle of red.

Daisy Denmark would be sharing fascinating anecdotes about the people she drank with on the Left Bank when she was a student at the Sorbonne in the 60s. Camilla and Anne would be on the whisky and brandy, respectively, while swapping filthy stories about APB.

Meanwhile Beatrice and Eugenie would be trying to stop a gatecrashing Fergie from dancing on the table, and Sophie would be the one ordering taxis and making sure everyone got home safely.

And the next day we'd all wake to a text from Meghan offering us a discount on a juice cleanse she'd just invested in!

When my late Grandparents received their Diamond Wedding anniversary card from HMQ they were over the moon & the card stayed up on display for many years.

It nearly didn't make it to the mantelpiece, Mum thought it said Royal Mint and nearly chucked it out as junk mail

I think Lady Helen went through a very brief period of infamy in the 80s (something about topless sunbathing and the nickname "Melons"?) but has led a very low key life since. She was a muse for Armani at one point but I'm not sure exactly what that entailed - free clothes, I'd imagine!

She was the very image of a demure beauty aged 18, then discovered hair dye and became a (pretty mild) 80s party girl - she definitely had the nicknames melons, I remember yes!

Lady Helen married art dealer Tim Taylor in another gorgeous wedding dress that manages to look elegant now despite its early 90s era, and is still wonderfully stylish as a mother of 4.

Did you know that Lady Helen (through her Mum) is a descendant of Oliver Cromwell

I've always liked The Duchess of Kent, she's one of my favourite royals.
Did you know that she taught music at a primary school in Hull for a number of years (after she retired from royal duties).
She was called Mrs Kent & no one knew (maybe apart from those who needed to know like the head?)
Just imagine finding out that you've been taught by a secret princess!

She does look like her mum, Tracy. I also see the resemblance in Katharine's granddaughter, through the Earl of St Andrews, Lady Amelia.

I have just read a biography of the Duchess of Kent.
She's had a miserable life, though is definitely not one to make the most of a situation.
She came across as needy, and feeling a lot hard done by.
I didn't finish the book with much sympathy for her. In fact I almost gave up before the end because of the moaning about life's unfairness.

I meant to add that I love her full skirted dress on the left!

I like the DofK, she always appeared gentle and kind. She used to be at Wimbledon.
I think she suffered from depression.
I think she converted to Catholicism, which is strange in light of the fact that her ancestor was Oliver Cromwell and we know what he did to the Catholics of Ireland !
Afaik she is separated. But I'm not sure.

I think the Kents are "aristocracy separated" ie they more or less live separate lives but do their duty and appear together at formal occasions. But I'm not sure she appears much in public at all anymore - she looked quite frail and unwell at H&M's wedding. She's had some tragedies in her time - a stillborn son and then she had to have a TMFR when she contracted rubella while pregnant.

That's interesting, @MrsFin. I gathered that she was quite troubled. She has looked quite unwell recently. I thought her husband looked frail at the Trooping this year, and at Wimbledon. It's not surprising he's stepped down from responsibilities there.

Leti's been at a memorial service for Covid victims. The dress is a rewear but I had to post it as it's one of my favourites; such a perfect fit.

Camilla looks nice but a better bra would make such an improvement. So many royal women need a MN bra intervention!

Max has visited a training centre wearing a very distinctive blouse! But the image of Max trucking has really made my day! Has she taken off one of her shoes?!

You know that Princess Anne actually has her HGV licence and used to drive her own lorry back in the 70s!

There was a photo of her at the wheel of a lorry in a baker boy hat

Michael Parkinson asked her what job she'd have done if she wasn't a Princess and she said "a lorry driver because it is the only thing she is qualified for"
