Wow I seem to have a sixth sense about Kate's wardrobe (pink dress then red, white & blue) this weekend or I'm just a lucky guesser.
I thought Union Jack dressing as although it's England playing when we 🤞 win, I think the whole of the UK will be excited.
I'm half Scottish & the rest mostly English with a bit of French (& a rumour about a long distant Chinese ancestor) so I would be excited even if Scotland had managed to win!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 11/07/2021 21:33

Oops shouldn't have got ahead of myself as Italy just scored......though it ain't over till the Duchess of Cambridge waves her hands in the air & jumps up & down or a fat lady sings Smile

AppleKatie · 11/07/2021 21:36

Kate looked great at Wimbledon, that dress really suits her.

Despite being in the same room as the football I haven’t got a clear sight on what she’s wearing this eve.

CliffsofMohair · 11/07/2021 21:56

Would they not have let Prince George wear his little jersey though

chesterelly · 11/07/2021 22:02

According to the papers George wanted to wear a suit to be like William. I know I didn't get a full house on the Kate bingo but I'm definitely claiming four corners or a line for the white jacket and red earrings

frugalkitty · 11/07/2021 22:03

I read that William said George wanted to wear his England shirt but Kate wasn't keen, so who knows?

StartupRepair · 11/07/2021 22:03

Fascinating article about the plane crash. Love Kate's pink outfit.

MotherofPearl · 11/07/2021 22:04

That was a good call on the red accessories and white jacket @chesterelly, that is true!

Honestly I thought that pink dress was too girlish and frilly for Wimbledon. An elegant sheath would have been nice.
CliffsofMohair · 11/07/2021 22:20

They let Prince Christian wear his jersey. Also, why does a middle aged Irish woman care 😂

frugalkitty · 11/07/2021 22:35

If you're on Instagram, Princess Eugenie's story is August in an England babygro Grin

Cute

OverByYer · 12/07/2021 09:01

Wasn’t keen on Kates earrings. Too big and fussy

gingercat02 · 12/07/2021 10:47

If I was Kate I would have had huge ruby and diamond earrings but I am shallow

Eaumyword · 12/07/2021 11:01

Ooh yes, with a massive ruby and diamond tiara!!
I thought they were so sweet last night with George giving his mum a big hug when England scored. It was a long night for a little boy.

Maireas · 12/07/2021 11:08

Plus a massive diamond and ruby necklace 😍!
I hope George can keep his eyes open at school today!

I hope George was less sad than my 13yo, but he didn't get much sympathy from an Irish mum and Scottish dad 🤣
Private schools here are finished for the summer so he probably got a lie in

Eaumyword · 12/07/2021 11:26

Bless, I think a nation's children will be shattered today! I'm about to go say goodbye now to our Yr6 leavers who will no doubt be very emotional!♥️

That’s such a shame to read. I would have wanted Ireland or Scotland to win if they’d been in the final. My son’s friend has Scottish parents and he was being very rude on the class WhatsApp last night, delighted by the loss when all his friends are feeling so low. Really made me see the family through different eyes.

ajandjjmum · 12/07/2021 14:24

I can never get that - if England aren't in a match, I will always support Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales if they are playing.

gingercat02 · 12/07/2021 14:48

It was meant to be light hearted folks. I couldn't care less about any nations football team, rugby is my game. DS was well supported in his distress for anyone who is concerned for his welfare, and has gone off to his wild camping trip very happily this morning

Glad to hear @gingercat02! Grin

I do think it's sad though when you hear tales from people such as @ApplyWithin, where children are clearly being brought up to take pleasure in the disappointment of others. I know it'll be put down to 'banter'.........and resilience is important - as is empathy.

KillingMeDeftly · 12/07/2021 15:49

That's very nasty of that child @ApplyWithin and totally unnecessary.

MotherofPearl · 12/07/2021 16:06

Back to fashion. HM has been watching polo. I like the hint of her floral dress peeping out here. I know that bright colours are her trademark but I'm not a huge fan of lime green. Still, it's nice to see her looking so jolly.

Carl Philip and Sofia have released this lovely family photo. Could little Prince Julian be a new thread mascot, to add to delicious baby Prince Charles?!
