Another is this too white for a wedding...

Hi lovely ladies.

So, I posted yesterday about my request for a a dress to wear to a wedding. I am starting a new thread as I wanted some opinions on particular dresses.
I've decided I really like reformation but never ordered from there, so no idea on size.

Also, not much is in stock in my size so I'm limited. Also, being 5ft2 things can often look too long.

What do you think of these options? Wedding appropriate? Are the white floral ones too white?

Thank you so much.

@LouNatics I wasn't worrying or anxious about what I was wearing. I was just curious as to whether I could get away with a floral dress, which some people said no too. I was only really asking advice with regards to style a its nice to get opinions and I couldn't decide.

Personally, I don't see the fuss. When I got married, as long as guests didn't turn up im a wedding dress, I didn't care. To be honest, I didn't even know of any rules at the time.

I love number 3 😍

Lan2020 · 13/06/2021 11:55

@Blueskytoday06 I like it too but worry the length may be awkward on me.

What do you wear in your hair at a wedding? I've literally been to one wedding 10 years ago. I've never worn a fascinator and always think they look a bit ageing (I'm 33).

I like two on your op, but maybe in one of the different colour lines.Pale blue would look lovely.

Lan2020 · 15/06/2021 15:36

I took a risk and ordered the pale blue dress Preloved (still a fortune). Thankfully it fits but it does come up small (I'm.a 6-8 and got the 6).
Excuse how creased it looks, grabbed it out of the bag and tried it on.

That meant to say I got the 8, not the 6

I really love that. Does it feel good? It looks amazing on you.

CoffeeandCakeEqualsLove · 15/06/2021 15:46

That looks lovely @Lan2020!

I'm looking at renting a Self Portrait dress for a wedding this summer, maybe need to look for a size up...

sonjadog · 15/06/2021 15:47

That looks great!

MustardRose · 15/06/2021 15:51

The bridesmaids aren't in pale blue, are they?

Sakura7 · 15/06/2021 16:01

@MustardRose

The bridesmaids aren't in pale blue, are they?
To be fair, a guest can't be expected to know what colour the bridesmaids will be wearing. Pale blue is fine.
Lan2020 · 15/06/2021 16:07

Thanks all. It's definitely tight fitting at the top but I suppose a perfect fit. I like that it flares out around the tummy, so I have space for a 3 course meal.

@mustardrose I've no idea. It seems these days that anything can be considered a bridesmaid dress. I could have gone for any colour and it could have matched bridesmaids. I did notice a lilac ribbon on the invite, so I'm assuming this may be the colour scheme? I purposely avoided lilac.

@CoffeeandCakeEqualsLove it definitely comes up small. Well this dress does anyway.

They will all be fine with a lovely buttonhole and fascinator

MustardRose · 15/06/2021 16:17

It's all right, I was being tongue-in-cheek about the bridesmaids' dresses!

CatalinaCasesolver · 15/06/2021 16:26

The dress looks amazing on you! Good choice! Personally I think fascinators are vile and dated and would rather a nice clip or earrings.

SionnachRua · 15/06/2021 16:28

That pale blue is gorgeous! I second not bothering with a fascinator and having earrings instead.

Lan2020 · 15/06/2021 16:29

@MustardRose it's my worst fear turning up in a dress similar to the bridesmaid haha.

I have a nice cream wrap/shawl that I'll wear during the ceremony.

As for my hair, I've no idea. I've longish straigh hair but I'm rubbish and never do anything with it. I'm not keen on a fascinator, so may look for a clip / headband... although not sure if any of those are fashionable.

I have to.share my excitement though and say that the best part of this wedding is that my mum is babysitting the 2 year old. I've not had a night out since his birth (I know I'm not unique and I'm not complaining). I mostly just want to look nice for my partner. Saying that, I've realised there won't be any dancing or mingling at the wedding, so I probably should just bring DS.

OP posts:
XiXiXi · 15/06/2021 16:57

Heck no, take the offer of babysitting and enjoy yourself!

Midlifemission · 15/06/2021 19:58

@Lan2020 you look absolutely stunning in that dress have a wonderful time !

Alternista · 15/06/2021 20:00

Oh GORGEOUS!!

Lan2020 · 16/06/2021 16:06

Thank you all for your lovely comments. One more question. Do you think it's too 'booby'

OP posts:
CoffeeandCakeEqualsLove · 16/06/2021 16:23

I don't think so @Lan2020 from the photos of you in the dress.

If it's a church ceremony, I'd throw something on over your shoulders/chest - but think you mentioned it not at a church? In which case, not at all
