Think I might have a Hush problem...

I ordered my first item from Hush last week and it arrived today and it's gorgeous! It's a lovely, loose-fitting maxi dress. So I was inspired to order the joggers and a pair of shorts. I feel like I've been missing something and since a lot of my favourite retailers have gone bust this may fill the gap! So my question is what are the 'must buy's from Hush, and what other brands might I like?

I have a love hate relationship with Hush but I still end up buying quite a bit from there (including today 🤭). I do have some lovely dresses but I wash them very carefully on a hand wash cycle. This irks me for the price!
This summer’s best purchase was the Lara midi dress in green leopard as it’s comfy and loose and flattering. I got the Penelope dress last year and with careful washing it has been a useful summer purchase

Oh no, do they shrink? Their stuff is not cheap, more than I would usually pay.

Picture of the dress needed!
Hush is somewhere I’ve never bought from but see other people wearing and like. I’m in need of a new maxi dress...

It's this one. It's actually a midi but because I'm a short arse it's maxi dress length on me. I love it.

My best friend was wearing that when I met her on Saturday! It’s lovely, I agree.

Be careful of declaring your love for Hush too loudly as you will get accused of being a plant Grin
I really like the odd thing from Hush and am a big fan of their jeans and have had a few nice dresses and shoes from there as well. I used to buy a lot of stuff from Hush because it suits my lifestyle which is basically very casual.
Quality can be very hit and miss though so it's quite unpredictable and I do think it's over priced.
I have the harems which I wear for yoga and as summer trousers with sandals/flipflops and a cami top. I'd say those and a few pairs of jeans are my favourite Hush buys.
Which shorts did you get op?

It was these shorts, looks like they're exclusive to John Lewis.

Definitely not a plant, I'm just a bit over excited at finding a new retailer! I used to buy lots of Oasis and Warehouse stuff and now that they're online only they've gone utterly rubbish.

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/hush-relaxed-denim-shorts-light-grey/p5443799?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

Erm...I am not massive of boobage but it works on me. Did you mean boots? Smile I would say it's more a summer dress, I wouldn't wear with boots. Trainers or sandals would work.

I bought a couple of sweatshirt type tops from Hush but they washed horrendously and because really shapeless. I wanted to get some trackies from there but I'm worried they'd do the same thing.

Am on a roll, just bought this as well. Need to lock away the credit cards!

Will be gutted if the Hush stuff washes badly.

I've got the Kensington dress which I love, had it over a year and it's fine. On the other hand I bought the Emmanuelle dress last year and despite it being oversized I ended up ripping it in three places! The material had no give and was so thin so my experience is hit and miss.

I have quite a few things from Hush and always wash and dry them really carefully on a cold wash.

Even then, one sweatshirt has faded but I absolutely love the style.....just not so much the price or the quality! I only buy with a discount or in the sales.

You sound like me OP I’m a bit lost as where to shop now Oasis & Warehouse have closed.

Like you am gutted that Oasis and Warehouse are gone.
Baukjen is nice too but more expensive

The quality is completely hit or miss, I've had some of my best buys from Hush and some complete waste of money items too. Its so frustrating 😫
I do love their styling but am put off as it can be a gamble at times.
I really hope the bits you've bought last well for you

Totally agree on the quality being hit or miss. I've got the black harems and love them, washed well, so ordered the same in grey and they were awful! They went extremely baggy after one wash. I've also bought a couple of jumpers which lost their shape quickly. It's very frustrating as I love a lot of the styles.

I agree that Hush can be a bit hit and miss.

I've got the Agnes jeans which I adore, and a other pair of boyfriend jeans which are good.

The Penelope maxi dress is lovely: I bought the green star one last year and this year's floral version too. Very flattering. Had a couple of above the knee dresses which I've worn to death with thick tights and boots for work (but before wfh, obvs!)

A couple of sweatshirts are just OK. Nice style, but faded more than I hoped and I'm glad I bought them in the sale.

And, worst of all, an oversized batwing top that looked great online but looked like a rag when it came out the packaging. Tried, it on and it split horizontally across the front along a fault in the fabric. Absolutely not worth £45.

I am blessed of norkage @PaleGreenGhost and can confirm it's OK with boobs. It's loose rather than form fitting - you can't really see cos the model has that bag over her body.

@SoLongFurlough I've had some nice stuff from Wallis, they seen to have kept their quality having gone online only. Got a lovely jumpsuit last year which is so flattering and I've worn it to death (I'm a size 14 so anything that hides the flab gets my vote!)

Thanks everyone else for the advice.

Agreeing with a lot of posters about quality sometimes being an issue except with the harem trousers which have been my best purchase. I've had a few of their jumpers which I've loved but they've lost their shape within a year which isn't good enough really for £80. It's a shame as I love their style but I do think twice before I buy from there now

I only discovered Hush this season and have shopped with them twice. I have loved everything I have bought so far. I have heard the quality is hit and miss though. This is the dress I bought.

And I absolutely love this jumper. It has bobbled early, but that is the nature of the yarn.

I have two T shirts that are lovely too. The linen one is especially nice, but the other one is also very good quality and the little side slits make it look more stylish than the average.
