Think I might have a Hush problem...

I ordered my first item from Hush last week and it arrived today and it's gorgeous! It's a lovely, loose-fitting maxi dress. So I was inspired to order the joggers and a pair of shorts. I feel like I've been missing something and since a lot of my favourite retailers have gone bust this may fill the gap! So my question is what are the 'must buy's from Hush, and what other brands might I like?

They have 10% off tops and tees this week. Code is Top10 if anyone wants it.

That's good to know chocolatesaltyballs22 we're a similar size so I'll have a look at Wallis

Oops sorry late return! I did means boobs Blush yes. It's just I have this gorgeous midi dress that is a t-shirt at the top but widens to swish about at the bottom and feels amazing on. But the reality check provided by the mirror is that I look like I'm pregnant in the 1980s (before maternity wear hugged the bump).

Looking at OPs dress has lead me down a Hush rabbit hole. They've so many lovely, wearable looking dresses! But so pricey!

Don't get too carried away buying more from hush before you've washed the items you have. Most of what I've bought looked like a pile of rags after a few washes. Dresses and shoes yes, but for me knitwear and jersey are a complete no go.

That's really disappointing to hear the jersey stuff doesn't wash well. I only have a pair of Hush cord dungarees from a while ago and they've been great.

I'm a bit addicted to Hush jersey (have worked from home for over a decade and live in sweatshirts). I buy a Hush sweatshirt every year in the sale and have only once been disappointed in the quality.

I bought a lovely jumper in March wore once and was really careful to follow the washing instructions. Well when it dried it had shrunk and was like a piece of cardboard it was completely unwearable so went in the bin Angry. I'm so cross I haven't bought anything from them since .

I love it all! It fills the oasis and warehouse gap for me too!

I’d avoid Hush knitwear and jersey items too for same reason. Also, bought two pairs of girlfriend chinos - white pair like a rag within months, khaki pair still going strong. The inconsistency puts me off which is a shame because I do like their styling.

I really miss warehouse it was good quality with lots of discount days . Hush is so much more expensive which I wouldn't mind if it was top quality stuff .

I'm so glad others are making the point about quality. Last time I commented on Hush stuff washing badly I was absolutely flamed and victim blamed. It was heavily implied that I must be washing it wrong.

Hush is exactly my style and I love the look of it but it's quite expensive for me. I treated myself to one sweatshirt and it went like an absolute rag after about 3 washes, I'm tempted to give it another whirl...

Haven't worn or washed the dress yet but planning an outing in it on Saturday. I hope that since it's like a t-shirt dress it doesn't come under the jersey banner and will therefore wash badly. Waiting on the joggers and shorts to arrive, they've been despatched. Going to hold my horses before ordering anything else!

I've also had a couple of nice things from Roman Originals - cheaper stuff and not quite the same styling but I quite like some of their stuff. I think Next online have some stuff of theirs as well.

Welcome down the Hush rabbit hole OP! I love their stuff because it seems to be designed for my shape (apple, larger bust, etc). I also appear to be lucky with my choices because I have yet to have anything destroyed in the wash or turn into a bobbly rag - I do tend to go for the slightly dressier stuff rather than the leisurewear though. Most recent buys are the Faye dress which is lovely and cool and airy and the Else jersey shirt dress which I succumbed to last week when they had 10% off and is incredibly comfortable. Like a couple of others have mentioned, I got last years Penelope dress in green and have worn it tons - not keen on this years print but if I’d liked it would deffo have bought again.

Agree the quality of the knitwear is awful. I also have a pair of joggers that looked like a faded rag after a couple of months. On the other hand I bought some Harems years ago that are still going. What annoys me most is the sizing. Often you have to size down at least 2 sizes and I just can't be bothered with the guesswork when I'm buying online

Has anyone ever successfully returned an item (anywhere) for being rubbish quality?

I’ve got a Hush skirt in viscous which washed terribly. But another skirt that I’ve got in polyester has washed really well. Their military style jackets are good quality.

@Talisin what is the sizing like on the Faye dress? I really like the look of it but I'm fed up of ordering my usual size from Hush and it being like a tent!

I wore a pink and red Kensington dress yesterday to see a customer, and I got 5 compliments on it from totally random people. I was put off by the price, but it does look lovely on. Am now worried about washing it!

@PaleGreenGhost I returned a cardi a few seasons back (to Hush). The styling was great; the quality was rubbish. Not cheap either!

The stitching came apart at the neck on the first wear. Hush paid for me to have it repaired myself and then the bobbling started, which was so bad it made the cardi impossible to wear. I must have worn it three times. I sent it back with uploaded pictures and had my money back with no quibble.

I was so disappointed - really loved that item.

@XiCi It’s definitely designed to be oversized so it’ll depend on your frame really. I’m 5’8, broad shouldered and have a larger bust, I ordered my usual size and the size below - both fitted across the bust but I preferred the look of the larger one. It hangs well so doesn’t look tent-like on me but if you have smaller boobs then go for a smaller size than your norm.

@CMOTDibbler I have six Kensington dresses and just fling them in the machine Blush. Mine are absolutely fine, one showing some wear after 2.5yrs.

I'm wearing my leopard print Kensington dress. I wash it on 30 degrees and it's fine. I love it.

I have the green & gold Kensington from a couple of years back and have had no problems machine washing it either.
