Sorry if there’s already a thread, couldn’t see one.

Just seen a pic of the happy couple here

All other issues aside, I love her style! I though she’d become a bit less boho and casual in recent months but the dress is a return to form :o

As for him, I think we can conclude from his wedding look that his hair physically cannot be brushed.

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria

YellowandGreen excuse my ignorance - local comp in the 80s type here - I've obviously heard of Harrow and Eton. The rest, I assume are equivalent. Do you mean there is something these schools do that creates charisma?
Winchester and St Paul’s.

And yes. They are absolutely taught how to interact, behave, listen. Not specific lessons but dinners, meetings, and an expected ‘listen, learn and be well bloody mannered/interested in anyone who’s courteous enough to pay you attention’. Old school manners and, IME, they are beautiful.

Whilst there’s much wrong with the public school system, learning how to ‘work a room’, see the positive in every social situation and make all around feel brilliant is a seriously good skill.

A man who marries his mistress creates a vacancy.. Sir James Goldsmith. (and he would have known)

Someone else must have quoted this but I didn't see it.

RedRiverShore · 30/05/2021 21:48

I find her quite average looking but because she is so happy it makes her more attractive. A lot of quite average women look more attractive on their wedding day because their happiness shines through.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 30/05/2021 21:50

Interesting, YellowandGreen, thanks.

I do think that the basics of remembering someone's name and a snippet about their life, making eye contact and smiling or expansive arm waving can make up for an awful lot of vacuousness.

But, as I said, I went to a comp. We must conclude that I'm naturally charismatic, ha ha ha.

52andblue · 30/05/2021 21:55

@MsRinky

Are we all looking at the same picture? I see a wonky flower crown poking her in the eye over some very brassy locks and a victorian nightie, whilst he just has a wonky buttonhole plus his everyday ill-fitting suit and the same tie he's wearing in all those photos of him with his previous mistress.
It does look rather 'thrown together at the last minute' to me. I wonder if it was?
messeduphair · 30/05/2021 22:00

I knew she was younger that him.... but I also thought she was about 40, not 33!!

sweetkitty · 30/05/2021 22:09

Really not my style at all, didn’t like the dress or the flower band but Carrie probably would have hated my wedding dress (no it wasn’t sleeveless and pouffy). If I was marrying Boris Confused I would have expected him to make a bit more effort but maybe that’s what he loves about him Grin I suppose we are all different.

Downunderduchess · 30/05/2021 22:20

Love her dress, gorgeous outfit. He seems like a tosser though.

you’re clearly naturally elegant, skilled and erudite!0
WineGetsMeThroughIt · 30/05/2021 22:36

It's a no from me. I think it looks quite cheap. In all honesty I hate it. And the flower crown. The photo isn't very good either

Cowbells · 30/05/2021 22:38

Hate the happy couple but love her dress and she does look great in it.

Marcipex · 30/05/2021 23:05

I have laughed every time I see the pic of the local loony in her nightie, accosting that man grinding his teeth.
We must be looking at different images 😆

korawick12345 · 30/05/2021 23:30

Lovely dress but totally inappropriate for a cathedral and downing at wedding. Hay bales and flower crowns are for sweet country weddings not for 3rd time around in the city. I think that is what adds to the photos having a a happy bride and father of the bride vibe

That's what I see too.

RedRiverShore · 31/05/2021 04:02

The dress was hired for £45 according to the Daily Mail

Onlinedilema · 31/05/2021 08:02

It's not my taste at all. 1970s net curtains was my first thought. However she does look lovely.
Boris does look like a very scruffy father of the bride.

PetuniaPot · 31/05/2021 09:28

RedRiverShore : That's brilliant if true.

C8H10N4O2 · 31/05/2021 10:58

I've also seen it reported as costing several thousand points. I find it hard to believe it was hired for £45. When I married in the late 80s it cost more than £45 to hire a dress when I was considering that option.

Current going rates for wedding dress hire seem to start at £100 for very basic wedding dresses and range up to several hundred. The cheaper dresses are day or evening dresses and that looks like its intended to be a wedding dress.

Serpenta · 31/05/2021 11:57

As if hiring a dress that's worth thousands costs only £45.

Leaking that little tidbit to make them seems sensible and frugal after the £200,000 freebie flat refurb debacle.

OverByYer · 31/05/2021 12:01

Yes the £45 hire charge sounds like rubbish to me.
I’m finding today’s headlines about Carrie and her friends seeing the wedding as a triumph over Cummings. Rather childish if true.

Onlinedilema · 31/05/2021 12:11

Yes I found the £45 cost unbelievable. My ds married on the early 90s and it cost £100 then to hire her dress.

ZaraW · 31/05/2021 13:26

www.mywardrobehq.com/

The dress is top centre you can't miss it. Couldn't see it for hire though.

ZaraW · 31/05/2021 13:28

It could have cost £45 per day. You can hire wedding dresses for £11.

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 31/05/2021 17:35

She looks beautiful and I love her dress.

DonaPatrizia · 31/05/2021 17:46

She looks like she fell into a floral display wearing a net curtain. I’m old too and not mad on the current long frilly dress vibe. But even taking that into account I find Carrie’s style in general is a bit Amish and frumpy. Lamb dressed as mutton. As for Boris, agree, can’t see the appeal. If he was female he would be Anne Widdecombe.
