Men wearing rings other than wedding band

What do you think of men wearing rings other than a wedding band? DH wears a ring on his right hand ring finger. It’s something he was given when he emigrated from his home european country at 16 and has an emblem of that country. It’s not a family signet ring, it’s just a nod to his origins.

My friends and work colleagues thought DH was super posh and it was a family crest. This is because he has no hint of a foreign accent, and sounds quite posh. He hates the idea that people think he is snotty and wearing it like a signet ring!

@70isaLimitNotaTarget
only upon graduation not before. there is a ceremony and an oath etc.

I used to think rings on men, unless biker rings on bikers, indicated that a bloke was a bit wet. However, one of the bravest men I know (lost his job due to objecting to government corruption, and is still at them in a country where objectors can wind up in prison) wears a large, flashy turquoise ring amongst several other bits of jewellery.

Consequently, I have revised my views on man-bling.

@ChilliHeeler

For some reason all I can think of is David from Schitts Creek and his many rings.
Loved the ring(s) Patrick proposed with.

David's rings are part of his amazing style and look perfect. On anyone else I'm very much not a fan of rings (or jewellery in general) other than a plain wedding ring.

Signet rings make me think Elizabeth Duke and a selection of premier league clubs, rather than Proper Poshness. The Iron ring for engineers isn’t something I’d heard of and I think it’s very cool.

I tend to think it’s a bit tacky to have lots of signet rings etc. But if you’re an arty/creative David from Schitts Creek type then it can look good. Can’t get over the breast milk thing, given it has such a short shelf life it makes me feel a bit weird to think of it being preserved. But each to their own I suppose

I am a jeweller and 95% of rings we make for men are wedding bands (we call them bands, rather than things, I dont know why!!)
But have made in the last few years, several signet rings with engraved initials or family crest engraved, for 18th or 21st birthdays.i think they are worn on the little finger.
Recently we have made a couple of diamond rings for men. Not sure in what finger, or what occasion they will wear them. I know one guy who wears a diamond ring on his little finger, hes not posh at all.
