36aa bra?

Pileonsally · 23/05/2021 21:24

My daughter v self conscious about v flat chest. She isn't slim and willowy so can't embrace that look.
Im trying to find 36aa bra thst would make her feel better with a tiny bit of padding.
Tried so many bras but none fit right.
She has 1 calvin klein bra that fits nice.

Anyone else this size? I'll pay whatever to make her happy!

She won’t be a 36aa. Look up boob or bust and measure her properly!

delilahbucket · 23/05/2021 21:32

What Welsh said.

LittleG69 · 23/05/2021 21:33

What dress size is she? I doubt she’s a 36AA. Boob or Bust measuring method is the best

LadyGAgain · 23/05/2021 21:47

I third this advice

dementedpixie · 23/05/2021 21:50

36AA means literally less than 1 inch between under and over bust measurements which is highly unlikely. I think she should measure and get a better idea of size

dementedpixie · 23/05/2021 21:50

P.s. I wear a 36 back and am a size 20/22 on the top

Nellsbells173 · 23/05/2021 22:00

Definitely use the boob or bust measuring method for her to use as a guide for a better fit

MotherofPearl · 23/05/2021 22:07

It is certainly possible to be that size. I say this as someone who is very, very flat chested. OP, I've found some good bras in John Lewis. I like the Eleanor t-shirt bra, though I'm not sure exactly which sizes it comes in.

Pileonsally · 23/05/2021 22:07

She is going to do the bust measurement thing.
Not sure why you all don't believe she is not AA cup. She is absolutely flat chested with just nipples.
Im happy to be proved wrong tho.
She has 36a bra which gape open!
Will see what this calculator says

dementedpixie · 23/05/2021 22:08

What dress size is she?
I bet her back size should be much smaller and the cup size bigger

tiredanddangerous · 23/05/2021 22:11

If she's slim and willowy she isn't a 36. I'm a 36 and I'm size 18.

tiredanddangerous · 23/05/2021 22:11

Sorry I'm reading whilst half asleep Blush

SamusIsAGirl · 23/05/2021 22:13

I'm a 36A who could never be described as slim and willowy but CAN be described as rather ripped - I get mine from Little Women which sell bras in small cup/large band sizes for when I need to wear a bra that's not a sports bra.

SamusIsAGirl · 23/05/2021 22:13

PS I'm a size 12-14 and 5'2"

motogogo · 23/05/2021 22:13

Has she tried M&S? They have teen sizes and may have aa? If not online is your best option unless you have a specialist shop near you

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 23/05/2021 22:14

I would also be surprised if her band size is that big. Wearing a band that's too big could also make the cups gape as they'll be the wrong size and in the wrong place.

Also, OP did say that her daughter is not slim and willowy so can't embrace the flat chested willowy look, just to be clear.

OP typically your actual band size is about your dress size +20. I wear a size 8 and am a 28 band.

Tiggytico · 23/05/2021 22:17

My daughter (10 year old) was fitted today for her first bra/bralet. She was measured and fitted as a 34AA. I was really surprised. I assumed she'd be a 28AA or similar (even though she's not small for her age and wears age 12/13 clothes). This was on the basis that I am a 34FF... as a "blessed" woman I felt I would know! The bralet fitted well (32AA far too tight). I questioned the fitter and she told me that the teen range bras were sized a bit differently. Confused no idea... not sure it makes much sense!

HangingOver · 23/05/2021 22:20

I am 36aa OP. They're a nightmare to find but I find H&M bralettes and fabletics sports bras very comfy.

Tiggytico · 23/05/2021 22:20

Fitted in M&S

Pileonsally · 23/05/2021 22:20

Ahh ok. This is all v interesting.
Shes a size 12-14. 5'7.
That calculator said 32c!!
Baffling because she literally has nothing to put in the cup.

I'll look at little women too!
I'll order one tho and try.

Where was she measured? Some place add 4/5 inches to the back and give a bra too big in the back and too small in the cup

Whatever she measures under the bust is the back size. A 32AA would be too tight as the cup would be far too small. AA cup means less than 1 inch between under and over bust measurements

Nellsbells173 · 23/05/2021 22:24

@Tiggytico I would also measure your daughter using boob or bust. M&S are well know for measuring to an old sizing, using +4 inch method.
I am in a size 14 and wear a 32, so I doubt if she’s in aged 12-13 clothes she’s a 34 band.
It’s true teens measure slightly different as they need to have their band on the tightest hook in order to allow for their growth and development.
Boob or bust calculator takes all that info into consideration

MerryGoRoundBrain · 23/05/2021 22:24

OP, you’ve had plenty good advice on measuring there. As for the bra, my completely flat chested niece (who is in her 20s and 2 pregnancies haven’t changed her chest size either) swears by bras from a place called “boux avenue”. They are very well padded and probably not the best quality but she claims there are the bees knees. They’re relatively cheap (in comparison to what I need to spend on my 36HH boobage) and come in a good range of colours.
It may seem strange that I know so much about my niece’s boobs Hmm but we talk about it a lot, mostly because I complain about mine being too big, she complains about her being nonexistent.

OrangeSharked · 23/05/2021 22:25

Wel she obviously must have something otherwise her bust measurement would be the same as her underbust?

I think tbh you need to just take her to a bra shop and try on lots and lots of sizes. Try 32c, 34b, 32b etc.

What size is the Calvin klein bra? Could you get her another one?

dementedpixie · 23/05/2021 22:25

32C = 34B = 36A with regards to cup volume (amount of breast tissue)

Cup size is relative to back size so a 32A has a smaller cup size than a 36A
