Gym leggings that don't fall down - is there such a thing??

Rebecca75 · 21/05/2021 13:30

I am sick of buying gym leggings that fall down when I jump around.
I can't afford Sweaty Betty prices.
I'm 5ft 10 and a size 10-12 with a mum belly that wobbles around when the leggings either fall down or roll down...horrid!

I used to have a pair of puma ones for years that fit well but they've fallen to pieces and I can't find a similar pair.

Any brands to recommend?

Agree with pp about paying more being no guarantee.

Decathlon are great. And Gap and Nike (both in sales). I've just bought some M and S Go Move and Go Train as well, as I am fed up with Gap and Nike changing their designs all the time so I never know what I am looking for, and constant "reductions". Decathlon and M and S seem to stay the same, have solid effective design with no weird holes or meshes in places you don't expect, squat proof and no gimmicks.

I'm not pushing anything on anyone , I think cheap leggings are false economy.. .. they aren't that much if you get a discount code ) I never pay full price !) .. cheap ones are always going to fall down ! 🤷‍♀️

Uniqlo Airism leggings. I love them.

Rebecca75 · 21/05/2021 16:03

Untrue, my cheap matalan and tesco ones don't fall down
Rebecca75 · 21/05/2021 16:30

They've got some really fun designs😁

What's the sizing like? I've just looked and there's 8-10 and 12-14. I'm a 10-12..

I SWEAR by those. I can't stand drawstrings, they dig in, but absolutely all other leggings without drawstrings also fell down, so they were a necessary evil. Until I found Bara. Squat proof for gym and will not slide down even after a long run.
not cheap but they have 2FOR3 code today, does what it says.

When I buy running tights I always check the have a drawstring tie waist. It's the only way.

Me too. My nicest running tights were £12 from Primark, with a zipped pocket and everything! And a waist drawstring tie.

Join Fabletics for the introductory offer of 2 for £24. Join after the 5th of the month, receive leggings and make sure they ok then cancel. Fab leggings, not worth £50ish quid but definitely worth £12 each.

Vicliz24 · 21/05/2021 20:25

M&S good move leggings are actually fabulous. I wear them for running and they don't move .

megletthesecond · 21/05/2021 20:28

I've been avoiding this for a couple of years. My ancient Elle Sport (high waist and drawstring) are slowly giving up the ghost.

Msfoxy17 · 21/05/2021 20:42

Another vote for M&S Good Move - I got patterned ones but cant seem.to find them online. High waisted and super comfy. I only use them for yoga but I think they would work for more high intensity exercise too. I'm also a 10- 12 (more towards 12) and the 12 fit really well. I bought a load of bitter stuff in the range. Some really nice soft fabrics (polyester/elastane) and they also are quite flattering (on my not so great bum)'

Fabletics power hold leggings are excellent for what you describe.

You have to sign up to a subscription to get 2 pairs for around £25 but you can cancel it straight away.

Got mine from next for £28 , they are very good.

LemonCake79 · 21/05/2021 21:59

It's literally never occurred to me that gym leggings might fall down. Mine never do. I always buy Under Armour. There's an outlet near me.

TheatricalGiraffe · 21/05/2021 22:03

I recommend Tikiboo, they've got loads of funky designs or the diamond collection if you want plainer (come in black, navy and berry),

They have an elastic waist which I add a toggle too (You can buy a pack of 50 on amazon for about a fiver). You don't have to add the toggle I'm just an hourglass shape so I'm always going to struggle but they're the best i found

ceeveebee · 21/05/2021 22:04

I am a sweaty Betty fan but find H and M almost as good.
Also Nike - sometimes have good sales, with an extra 30% off

mycatchichi · 21/05/2021 23:21

Didn't they have something like that recently on dragons den?

Niconacotaco · 22/05/2021 00:20

I have some CRZ ones from Amazon and love them. They sell loads of different ones but I have the Naked ones and choose the ones with side pockets.
I also have some old ones from Decathlon but no idea which ones as their range is different whenever I go.

ZenNudist · 22/05/2021 00:28

Swear by M&S Goodmove gym leggings. I live in them .

I like the high waist sucks you in but comfy. I dont buy leggings without a drawstring as im apple shaped and theyd fall down.

sadie9 · 22/05/2021 00:29

If you can get maternity leggings, they don't roll down. I wear maternity tights from H&M all the time as they go over the tummy.

DrFoxtrot · 22/05/2021 00:32

I've never had any leggings fall down but there are some great suggestions for good leggings here.

DroopyDaff · 22/05/2021 00:35

I’m a similar height and size with a mum tum and have found my Matalan gym leggings more comfortable and good at pulling in the belly than my more expensive ones. I’ve got 4 pairs which are about 3/4 years old (all with pockets) and they still hold me in, haven’t faded or gone bobbly and I exercise 5 times a week. Can’t go wrong for £14 or thereabouts,
