Is my hair dated

So I just turned 40 and don't know if my hair is a bit dated. I am booking an appointment with my hairdresser soon and wondering should I get a new colour /style. I have been looking at rose gold.

I know nothing about hair but pretty dress!

Thank you both. Yes I do feel it's a bit vanilla. I've had lots of colours /styles over the years but have played it safe the last couple of years.

I'm also 40 (ish ) and I don't think your hair is dated at all. Do you style it up differently, it'd look fab with a loose beachy wave?

You look lovely. I will say though I'm 39 and have just had rose gold tint put through my hair on Thursday. I absolutely love it. Go for it. It's only hair and it will wash out!

I do style it differently with beach waves, curls, tied up etc. Thank you all for being so kind. It does look a bit flat in this picture but my hair is quite thick and has a natural wave.

I do think the half up half down look is a bit dated but I also do it, as it keeps it off my face while also looking like I made an effort

I also think that beachy waves would look more modern, although I have no idea how to achieve them or whether you’d need layers etc. Maybe something a bit softer around the face to frame it? A side fringe sort of thing?

I think you look lovely, and I don't think its dated, but I think its a bit dull maybe? I think you could do more with it. If you are feeling its dated you should definitely change it up for summer!

Not dated, just plain (same as mine btw). Nothing wrong with it if you like it.

It’s nice but it sounds like you want a change. Why not have a look through some ideas online and discuss with your hairdresser? What’s the worst that can happen??!!

I’ve very similar hair but with no hairdressers open (not uk) my roots have really grown out so I’m going to keep it kind of ombré, darker roots and honey/caramel through the ends.

I like it and I don’t think it looks dated at all!

I've got to say you look bloody good for 40! I would have put you maybe mid to late 20s really if this were a guess your age thread.
