Is my hair dated

So I just turned 40 and don't know if my hair is a bit dated. I am booking an appointment with my hairdresser soon and wondering should I get a new colour /style. I have been looking at rose gold.

I wouldn't call it dated as such. Just... safe and a bit blah, could do more for you. PP's point about the blonde is true, it looks like you've kept highlighting it over the years in the same way and have ended up with a flat and overly light blonde. I'd book in with a good hairdresser and have a play with both colour and cut.

I think you have lovely hair. People pay a fortune for hair like that..

I think your hair (and you) look lovely.

I am 30 and my hair is quite ‘plain’ but I try and do different styles with it like having it straight, then curly, in a plait, in a bun, in a high pony tail, low pony tail etc nothing fancy but it just changes things up a bit.

I think your hair looks fine. I did read this article a few days ago though about how cool French girl (so clichéd I know!) hair is all about being mussed up and undone looking.

Your hair is beautiful, enjoy it as it is! I’ve grown mine again in lockdown 1-3 and I am aiming for just a bit shorter than yours. I thought I had to have short hair aged 40, 50 and then 60. Now at 64 I’ve decided I still love it shoulder length, straight, with no fussy layers.

@Mammymar where’s the dress from? You look lovely.

I wouldn’t say it’s dated - you look nice - but I think something more fresh and modern would look great on you. Going shorter and darker overall with some really bright cleaning up highlights would look great - a dark blonde or honey blonde lob with balayage.

It's not a style is it? Just long hair. But it seems to look good and is in good condition so you could leave it unless you get inspiration for something else. You're quite lucky!
