Okay it's been a week and I'm still not happy with my hair - pic

Please bear with me!
I thought it had been done too light...
I was offered a toned but I've been very busy with work and I can't give up a day to go into central london.
Now here's a pic of it today.
I don't want to be so light around my roots and it really shows up the dark bits (which has never happened with highlights before)

Agree with person above - photo with it styled looks fabulous. When it’s wet it will always look terrible. I do get that it is maybe lighter than you asked for and you are not happy with that and feel it will show your dark/grey roots more which is true but if you can’t go in for toner there is a limit to what can be done.

Frownette · 23/04/2021 06:58

You have perfected the not happy look OP!

I can't work out what's going on in first pic either? Second pic is lovely.

ItsGotABitOfPink · 23/04/2021 07:08

Was the second pic before you had it done? If it's the results then I think it looks fine.

fistasledge · 23/04/2021 07:50

I've seen your other thread and the second photo is after you've had it done last week. The first photo is wet hair which always looks worse

Give it a dry and post again but as per the other thread, I think everyone agreed it looked lovely?

RubyWooRed · 23/04/2021 09:24

It will be fine blow dried.
Also once blow dried , change the parting , like a casual kind of flip over , a la Pinterest.
I do this and kind of back comb and ruffle it , put a few waves in , it hides any lines.

Also you can put toner on yourself , Jerome Russell is really good to take brassiness out and it’s only 3.49 in superdrug just now.

HousewifeNumber10 · 23/04/2021 09:56

Thanks again, I actually put Olaplex on it, but it had dried (I have 1 and 2 and leave them on for days as I only wash my hair once a week) that might explain a bit of greasiness. She put the darker ones through to counteract the lighter ones. I've got a Scott Cornwall Caramel toner but that will be more golden/ brown.
I guess spending a lot of money on my hair has freaked me out!

Why do you feel you need to change it? The freshly styled one looks lovely. Step away from the dye boxes and get some shampoo on it!

idontlikealdi · 23/04/2021 10:52

I think if you wash your hair it will look better!

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 23/04/2021 10:54

Op if your hair is not wet in that photo then you REALLY need to wash it more than once a week - it looks rank!
I think you need to wash & dry it and see how you feel then. All colour will fade so it won't be as stark forever
If you're really not happy then you need to go back to the hairdresser & have it fixed.
But for the love of god - wash your hair!!

Horehound · 23/04/2021 10:55

Em the second picture is just no comparison because it's not washed or styled. I don't understand why you did that.
Go wash it, dry it and post another photo....

Horehound · 23/04/2021 10:56

And I think wash more than once a week...

Bluntness100 · 23/04/2021 11:00

I’m not sure what’s happening here, you’ve multiple threads on your hair. The jan one shows your hair not looking dissimilar to the current one. Your hair is filthy in this new image

Are you ok? Because this is kinda weird behaviour.

denverRegina · 23/04/2021 11:09

Photo one is scaring the shit out of me Shock

Photo two your hair looks lovely. Please wash and dry your hair

RubyWooRed · 23/04/2021 11:10

Just realized that’s not wet hair in that first photo Shock yip that’s awful ,needs a good wash and a blow dry then some styling

Mellonsprite · 23/04/2021 11:20

Definitely wash and style it. It probably looks worse as the grease is making the dark bits look darker.
Unless you have super duper dry hair (which it doesn’t look like) I don’t think that leaving your scalp unwashed for a week is doing it any good. It did look great when washed and styled.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 23/04/2021 11:28

"Looks like a chimp did it" has made my day

dancemom · 23/04/2021 11:44

If that not wet hair then you definitely need to wash it

You can't style greasy hair

LunchBoxPolice · 23/04/2021 12:09

Why would you bother going to a hairdressers and spending lots of money if you can’t be bothered to wash it more than once a week Confused

I have to agree with this, you post repeatedly about your hair, but lather product on it, then leave it on for days and letting it get filthy. It’s really contradictory.

Your hair is nice, it is a nice colour and it looks in good condition. You seem somewhat obsessed with it though, which is the concerning part about this.

I don't think leaving in the product is helping. I think you need to rince the oloplex out. If you aren't happy with it go back to them and explain why. I'm not sure we can help here.

TeaAddict235 · 23/04/2021 15:46

That's a "go and do your homework" look! I digress Grin

Your hair looked better last week

iforgotyourenotbono · 25/04/2021 23:23

Also agree you need to wash that more than once a week Blush

Chatanooga1 · 25/04/2021 23:54

In the late 70s on a whim I bought a plastic cap with holes in as part of a high lighting kit and sat for around four hours in front of my dressing table mirror using a crochet type hook to pull through strands of hair and then applying bleach.

The end result was not the highlighted sun kissed look that the model on the box spotted but was unnatural stripes.

Your first photo has taken me straight back to 1979.

wingsnthat · 25/04/2021 23:58

I’m just going to be honest. It looks amateur

I regularly get a full head of highlights and my hair always looks better than that. Like it’s not awful, it’s just not the best work
