What do you wear on your feet in summer?

My feet are nearly always cold, so I only wear sandals in the garden or on short excursions, and only in very hot weather.

What can I wear when it’s not boots weather? I need something to go with jeans and wide-legged trousers.

Canvas plimsolls! Thank you, that’s what I’ve done on the past. £10 from George.

I think my problem this year is that I have months in Vivo Barefoot boots and it’s relieved so much pain that I’ve always just put up with. I’m loathe to return to scrunched up toes and plantar fasciitis.

Off to check some of the recommendations.

For your PF, stand on the bottom stair and just have your toes/ balls of your feet on the stair. Let your body weight take your heels below the stair treat and really relax into that stretch. Feel it in your tight calves! 4 times a day and the PF will go. 🙂

My feet are always cold, most shoes give me blisters. I am thinking of getting these for the summer

@Laggartha

Most of the recommendations have too pointed a toe box. I used to love converse and endure bleeding toes from the nails cutting in to the flesh on adjacent toes, but I just can't do that any more.

I really like the style of the Jazzin low tops. Need to find somewhere to try them on really.

I would never ever endure discomfort from shoes. I accept slight rubbing maybe first few wears but if I have new proper shoes I usually put a blister plaster on the back of my heel for first few wears. I will wear nothing that is not super comfy.

I hate wearing closed in shoes and in winter often wear backless leather mules which have a kind of loafer front but no back. Bare feet. Today I'm in Veja trainers as it is quite chilly but if it warms up I will be in Birkenstock's. I do wear ugg slippers ( backless) in the evenings year round pretty much. Never worn high heels. Never worn anything that hurt my toes. Don't really like flip flops except one brand that is actually comfy. Feet are forever so need looking after!

@Chickydoo funnily enough I'm thinking of getting those for winter!

@Laggartha you'll find quite a few styles of Rocket Dog Jazzins on MandM direct. Very reasonably priced. I think I saw someone cutting out the insoles with a scissors on a FB post though. If you're a half size they might not suit, size 6 was just about too small for me but size 7 was absolutely massive.

At the (far) more expensive end of the scale, but ethical and sustainable there's mukishoes. I really like the look of them and there are high tops and low tops. And you can buy a cork insole which is something I like as though I love the space and flatness of barefoot I'm not keen on very thin soles. I find my camper soles still provide plenty of ground feel but suitable for walking on hard surfaces for long periods, as do vivo with lugs, but with my other old vivos my feet weren't happy with walking on concrete or gravel for long periods!

Flip flops most of the time but that’s not helpful to you! The rest of the time, various white trainers, Chatham deck shoes or Skechers deck shoe/trainer things (soooo comfy!!)
