Everything (apart from the scarf) is lovely and the fitting and silhouette is glorious. But it’s just too monochromatic for my liking. She would have done well to break up the camel with some navy accessories.

That being said, I just don’t think camel/beige suits Kate’s colouring.

KillingMeDeftly · 25/05/2021 15:03

I think camel looks best on blonde Gwyneth Paltrow or Cameron Diaz types, or on those with darker skin.

Maireas · 25/05/2021 15:12

She was given the scarf on marriage as it's Strathearn tartan. I agree that the outfit is beige and I'm not a fan. It's all a bit 1977 for me. She's ringing the changes with trousers though, and she doesn't look like a souvenir picked up on the Royal Mile, so that's a plus.

Coat is nice, but navy blue shirt and trousers would have been lovely

hopeishere · 25/05/2021 16:36

Agree it's the matchy-matchy I don't like same with the blue yesterday.

Spudlet · 25/05/2021 16:41

Ooh yes, navy blue would have looked good under the coat. I do really like the coat. It’s just a lot of beige all in one go. She does seem to embracing the monochrome look lately, or is that just my impression?

I loved her blue skirt yesterday, but not with that blazer. It would look great with a slightly less formal top half, one that was shorter in the body.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 25/05/2021 16:44

I like Kate's beige/camel/caramac combo. It gives off a Charlie's Angels 1970s vibe which I like.
Though I think it would have looked stunning in white or cream albeit not very practical.

I always thought Kate was a 'Winter'
what with the jewel colours she wears really suiting her.
I think we need to 'grab' Kate, pin her down & pin various coloured scarves on her so we can get a definitive answer to her 'colours' 😜

Serenster · 25/05/2021 16:44

I covet that beautiful camel blazer and don’t mind at all the 70s vibe she is working, so it’s a good look for me. I’m not sold on the brown bag though. A red clutch would have been nice.

KillingMeDeftly · 25/05/2021 16:46

I would say Kate is an autumn as she looks particularly good in berry, rust, forest or olive green and teal.

Meghan is probably more a winter as deep clear colours and jewel tones really suit her.

Sophie and Zara summers, Beatrice autumn and Eugenie possibly also winter?

RomainingCalm · 25/05/2021 17:15

I don't like the '50 Shades of Beige' and would have preferred the camel coat with navy shirt/trousers. I quite like the Strathearn tartan scarf though.

That said it's nice to see Kate in some different outfits, particularly in trousers.

Much prefer her in the 'comfies' she changed into later today. Predictable but much more relaxed and Kate/William at their best.

SnottyLottie · 25/05/2021 17:51

Incidentally I think Meghan looks divine in tan and camel 😍

Spudlet · 25/05/2021 17:54

Yes, Megan had some gorgeous outfits in those shades. Although my favourite look of hers is still that green leather skirt and silk shirt combo - she looked absolutely stunning in that. And that white dress with the camel coloured Mac that she wore in Aus, the day they officially announced her pregnancy I think.

Eaumyword · 25/05/2021 17:55

Yes, I agree that tan/beige/caramel look good on Meghan. She also suits olive to dark green super well.
She wore a sleeveless bright yellow shift dress and that colour looked great on her.

RomainingCalm · 25/05/2021 17:57

Charles and Camilla have been out in Coventry today looking very smart as always. However I love this picture that's just been published of PC in his gardening outfit.

Love it Romaine as he just looks like the gardener!
Reminds me of the time when we first met DD's primary school headmaster. We thought he was the caretaker as didn't realise it was dress down day!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 25/05/2021 18:19

Now I'm getting gardening tool & electric car ads after clicking on that photo of Charlie MW Garden Landscaping 🤣

Spudlet · 25/05/2021 18:24

Charles looks like a beater! I wonder if he’s ever actually been beating, or whether his shoot days are all tweed and standing at a peg? He’s missing out IMO, beating’s a hoot Grin

KillingMeDeftly · 25/05/2021 18:27

Oh my word @RomainingCalm that's the most casual look I've ever seen on Charles!

Maireas · 25/05/2021 19:08

Charles is usually so dapper, I hardly recognised him! He's been working hard on the Sandringham estate since HM handed it over to him, making it more ecological. He's made some terrific changes.

I loved Kate's camel coat yesterday, beautifully cut with impeccable top stitching detail, a total classic.
I wasn't as keen on the overall beige look though, especially didn't like the trouser length. While I thought it was a nice diplomatic touch to wear her own tartan, a scarf in Black Watch or Royal Stewart would have been a splash of contrasting colour.

KillingMeDeftly · 26/05/2021 11:31

She changed into her usual skinny jeans, olive jacket and boots for a more casual engagement later in the day. Skinnies will never be over for Kate!

RomainingCalm · 26/05/2021 11:35

The skinnies are back today and I really like the Chloe boots. Some great pictures online of her and William sand yachting together.

Eaumyword · 26/05/2021 11:37

They wouldn't be for me either if I had her legs! She would look amazing in faded Levi 501's. I don't know if they are even still a thing however.
I think she looks great in casual and loved that she'd kept her hair half up. Very pretty and sensible against the wind.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 26/05/2021 11:38

Perhaps I'm the odd one out, but I love Kate's camel look yesterday. But then I quite like tonal dressing. The trousers are very on trend along with the long floor length hems.

Her colouring puzzles me as I had always assumed she was an autumn. But she wears a lot of summer colours as well. Half of the colour and style accounts I've seen her featured on are convinced she's a summer and the other half an autumn! Who's right lol?

Eaumyword · 26/05/2021 11:47

I loved it too @WineGetsMeThroughIt.
I'm also puzzled by colours. I think Kate looks good in berry colours but then looks good in brights. Meghan looks good in a muted palette but then also looks good in brights.
Is it just if you're very attractive, you generally suit most colours? Serious question!
