Very very long!

She looks great apart from that though!

Maireas · 14/05/2021 19:44

Ok, I'd have to shorten them by about a metre just to be able to walk....love navy polka dots, though.

I like Kate's navy outfit yesterday. That polka dot blouse looks great on her.

KillingMeDeftly · 14/05/2021 20:35

It looks like the blouse version of a dress she's worn a few times before.

Eaumyword · 14/05/2021 22:25

Kate looks fabulous in that navy outfit. Love the polka dot blouse. The only thing I don't like is when trousers are so long it looks like you have no feet. I find it disconcerting Smile

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 14/05/2021 22:36

I liked it but thought the coat too long... It's as if the photos have been elongated nearly!! Grin

latedecember1963 · 15/05/2021 08:01

That's what I thought about the photos of Kate in the red coat a few days ago, HeyGirlHeyBoy. The red coat was a rare miss for me but I couldn't work out why.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 15/05/2021 15:23

I absolutely detest those super long trousers, they look really silly.
I remember Cheryl without a surname wearing what would have been a fabulous pair of purple trousers with an orange top, ruined by the trousers being those super over long ones.
It's like you are auditioning for a job in a circus & hoping to trip over at the same time!

Apart from the trousers Kate looks nice but what with holding that arrow & surrounded by the children, it looks like she's a (very nice) teacher from Hogwarts.

Balloondog · 15/05/2021 15:48

I'm going to go against the grain and say I love the super long trousers. As someone with a long body and very short legs it's about the only way of wearing trousers that makes me look even vaguely in proportion! I'm not sure Kate needs them for this reason though 😁
Denmark's Prince Christian was confirmed today and there are some lovely outfits - my absolute favorite though is Princess Isabella's wide leg (and long!) trousers suit. I love this photo of them all looking so coordinated with Queen Margrethe standing out in such a pop of colour.

KillingMeDeftly · 15/05/2021 16:12

How old is Christian now? Because he looks about 21! I wonder if he'll become the first monarch of modern Denmark to marry a Dane?

That's quite a glam photo but it has something of The Godfather about it!

Balloondog · 15/05/2021 16:26

I believe he's 15, though I agree he looks much older. It looks like he's taking after his grandfathers in height and looks.

latedecember1963 · 15/05/2021 16:34

Gosh, Fred and Mary's children are all suddenly looking grown up. I've still got the thought of them as toddlers and young children in my head.

RomainingCalm · 15/05/2021 18:28

I'm not keen on those long trousers but possibly because I wonder what state the hems must be in by the end of the day.

Kate's outfit is a bit of a miss for me. I like the polka dots but it's too many different shades of blue all together - particularly when you add the blue gardening gloves!

Do you think the palace call ahead with the outfit details to be sure of having the matching gardening gloves?

mathanxiety · 16/05/2021 08:09

Love the long, wide legged trews. I think you have to go big with that style or forget it. Queen Margarethe looks as if she's some random granny photobombing the Danes' confirmation.

I like the polka dot blouse and the blue/navy coat but the trousers on Kate looked like gabardine numbers from 1973, and they're not big enough. Maybe it's the seam on the front that was too much with the polka dots or maybe the polka dots plus seamed trousers plus scalloped collar makes me think something wasn't completely right.
Her coat is much nicer than her usual rather harsh dark blue shade.

KillingMeDeftly · 16/05/2021 09:48

The photo of the Danes with Margrethe in the background is hilarious. I thought maybe she was that far back because of social distancing but no, she's pictured with the family in other shots from the day.

I noticed Joachim's two eldest sons also attended the confirmation so I guess they stayed with their mother and didn't move to France with Joachim and Marie.

Chewbecca · 16/05/2021 11:15

I like the fact Kate’s in trousers but I did find these ones too long. Blouse, earrings, makeup and hair all good, in fact, a fabulous blow dry as ever. I did think the first pic showed the classic Botox bunny lines.

LadyEloise · 16/05/2021 12:53

There's an article on Erdem - a designer beloved of Royals / celebrities in the Style section of the Sunday Times today.
Remember Kate's "curtains" dress - loathed by some ( including me ) on a previous thread.
There are photos of 3 of his Summer 2021 pieces.
Ghastly imo.

AppleKatie · 16/05/2021 14:10

Really? I assumed the same. If it isn’t social distancing it’s ridiculous!

KillingMeDeftly · 16/05/2021 14:10

That chartreuse satin Erdem is probably the worst thing Kate has ever worn but I put it down to pregnancy brain. We've all been there!

KillingMeDeftly · 16/05/2021 14:13

@AppleKatie here they are with no distancing in sight!

AppleKatie · 16/05/2021 14:24

🤣bizarre!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 16/05/2021 15:24

Perhaps it was one of those symbolic shots to represent the layers of the Danish royal family.
Margarethe is also the head of the Church of Denmark as my Googling tells me.

latedecember1963 · 16/05/2021 16:15

Thank you for the photos KillingMeDeftly.
The dachshund is so cute. 😍

Maireas · 16/05/2021 16:55

No reason for Daisy to be at the top of the steps! I reckon she did it for giggles. They all look good, although how Mary manages on the cobbles on those heels is anyone's guess!
Thanks for the pics !

Wow Christian is now super tall! I have been following the euro royals for too long now as I'm feeling very old!
