Had hair done - it's too light - here's a pic of my hair how I asked it to be

Hairdresser has offered to tone it down the darker highlights are from a few years ago the lighter is how I had it done yesterday- I asked for it to look like the older picture.
I called up today and asked for them to do it again...

I like it. I think you've just had a kneejerk reaction to the change.

Pinotwoman82 · 16/04/2021 17:17

Oh the lighter one looks a lot better

BlueDahlia69 · 16/04/2021 17:19

it's a lovely colour ... great hair lady 🌸

babbaloushka · 16/04/2021 17:25

I really like it, nice and light for the summer.

GrumpyHoonMain · 17/04/2021 06:54

I think your hairdresser did you a favour. Looks much better!

Cuntryhouse · 17/04/2021 06:58

Get some Moroccan Oil, it's a game changer for bleached hair.

JezebelLipsnHips · 17/04/2021 07:01

So much nicer light.

Dozer · 17/04/2021 07:02

It looks good, but the colour is very different to the colour you’d requested, so the hairdresser is at fault IMO. Wouldn’t put hair through further chemicals at immediately though. Unless the roots being more noticeable with the lighter colour is going to be a big issue.

DinosaurDiana · 17/04/2021 07:03

Much prefer it lighter, and a couple of washes and it’ll be darker anyway.

RaeRaeMama · 17/04/2021 07:16

The lighter hair is beautiful.. very sophisticated colour. I wish I could have mine like that but it's too dark

LadyDangerfield · 17/04/2021 08:03

The lighter hair colour looks better on you than the other one.

XiCi · 17/04/2021 08:10

If you asked for the color on the right and got the left I would be incredibly pissed off. They must be a really bad hairdresser to end up with such a different result, the colour you ended up with is just so far from what you asked for. Even if you like it better that is just a fluke and I would not be going back to the salon. Also looks like they've over bleached it and left it really brittle. Maybe ask the salon for an olaplex treatment when they fix he colour then get some deep conditioning treatments for home

sashh · 17/04/2021 08:14

Your new hair colour is exactly how I want mine

that's the colour mine is, naturally. I'm going grey but it looks like highlights.

TheJackieWeaver · 17/04/2021 08:20

I think your hair looks wonderful, but it definitely isn’t what you asked for and if it was me, I’d be disappointed (the lighter colour would totally ‘wash out’ my skin colour).

In the second photo (post work out) you can see some of the warmer tones at the bottom. Is that more what you wanted? Maybe they can add a toner that would get it to that without needing to add more actual dye/bleach?

I’d definitely ask what they can do. It’s positive that they’ve agreed for you to go back.

lancashirelady · 17/04/2021 08:26

Love the lighter colour.

Tinkling · 17/04/2021 08:44

It’s beautiful.

TuvoknotSpock · 17/04/2021 08:55

I can't tell which is which, the one j the green jacket is the one you don't like?

Interestingly I have also been over bleached by aveda,

XiCi · 17/04/2021 09:03

I think the colour you asked for in the style you now have would have been stunning and can understand why you are upset

Sportysporty · 17/04/2021 09:20

As a hairdresser the 1st picture is infinity better than the flat brassy second one.
Deep conditioner and elatasizer

XiCi · 17/04/2021 09:31

The second one isn't blonde at all though is it? Not sure if it's just the lighting but it looks a light brown colour. So not sure how a hairdresser could get it so wrong

HousewifeNumber10 · 17/04/2021 18:25

I think the thing is my hair in the darker one was a t section over about four inches of my natural hair colour and was only a high lift tint. The one on Thursday was bleach high lift and a tint...
I don't want it dyed any more... so I'm hoping a toner might help. I could grow it out (I wouldn't have it done again until September anyway) and just go for the t section on the roots I have then.
My hair is dry but not split ends - having a trim in a couple of weeks. Some people are saying it looks in bad condition? It's not as my mum has been trimming it every 6 weeks - I'm lucky to have that I know...

@Sportysporty how does elasticiser and conditioner change hair colour?

OP posts:
Sportysporty · 17/04/2021 18:36

It looks dry and damaged - trimming doesnt drastically change the condition of the hair not cut but it does stop split ends running up the hair shaft - it doesnt repair chemical damage.
Deep conditioning and elastsizer would not just improve the cosmetic appearance it would improve the way a toner would take on your hair.

HousewifeNumber10 · 17/04/2021 19:25

@Sportysporty I have a split end trimmer I bought last week and used on my girls hair - tempted to use it on mine...

Olaplex No.3 is a godsend for dry or damaged looking hair.
