Help me choose Barbour jacket colour

Hi, I want to buy a new jacket Barbour Beadnell for my Bday.

Which colour do you like?
Navy or Sage? ( I don’t want olive or black/ brown)
I was thinking sage but then I already have a similar non Barbour jacket in same style and colour.
I never had a navy jacket.
I want it to look young and classic ( not an elderly lady coat)
Also which colour wears better in time?
Thank you.

I prefer the Sage, but get the navy, you don't have a jacket that colour and its clearly the one you want!

Sountheastcat · 14/04/2021 12:21

@Pedalpushers I don’t know. I never owned navy jacket but I tried on a joules one and it was not nice on me for some reason.
I wonder if the Barbour would look different in navy.

The navy is my favourite!

Sountheastcat · 14/04/2021 12:22

Also they have all different lining. The sage lining is more into greens and the navy is more brighter colourful..

Navy, the Sage is a bit ‘posh people going off shooting pheasants for the day’

Sountheastcat · 14/04/2021 12:24

@IAmTheDuke
Truth. Plus I have literally green similar jacket with similar lining already..

I prefer the sage, not keen on the navy.

Hoppinggreen · 14/04/2021 12:29

Navy is much nicer

OfaFrenchmind2 · 14/04/2021 12:31

I prefer the Sage. Navy is fine but Sage is more interesting.

OolieMacdoolie · 14/04/2021 12:53

The navy is really smart, and a bit more unusual than the sage.

Zealois · 14/04/2021 12:56

I have this in sage and love it. 🙂

daisychain01 · 14/04/2021 12:58

I think the turn-up sleeves look nicer against the navy, so I voted navy.

Carishina · 14/04/2021 12:59

If I had to choose between the two I’d say navy, but to be honest they both have a whiff of elderly lady about them.

ElizabethTudor · 14/04/2021 13:01

Navy

Lockheart · 14/04/2021 13:03

YABU to post this here. Get whichever you want, there's nothing unreasonable about it.

Enidblyton1 · 14/04/2021 13:16

Sage - more country
Navy - smarter/more towny

Both lovely, depends what look you’re after. I bought a black Barbour about 15 years ago - I wanted something smart and modern that I could wear to work, but wouldn’t look completely out of place on country walks. Best purchase ever.

I only posted here as I wanted help to decide.
It’s not a cheap coat and I don’t usually get clothes with this price tag.
I posted in a different topics before and hardly got any answers.

Personally I prefer the sage one. I think if you're going to get a Barbour then go for a traditional looking one.

My Dad always wears Barbour jackets/gilets etc, and I've got a sage coloured tweedy fabric one. They are fantastic quality and will last for many years. In fact I inherited mine!

KoalaOok · 14/04/2021 13:36

Which one do you like the best? Get that one.

Overdueanamechange · 14/04/2021 13:41

I always go Navy at it can be dressed up or down accordingly.

VestaTilley · 14/04/2021 13:43

Navy if you’ll wear it in town, sage if you live rurally.

Purplecatshopaholic · 14/04/2021 13:44

Neither of them exactly scream 'young' op - but if you are defo going for one of these then the navy is probably better if you have a similar sage colour one already.

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 14/04/2021 13:50

The navy is more for town/work.

The sage is more “rural”. Not a work coat.

I think they will both wear well.

I prefer the lining to the navy one.

You aren’t unreasonable to ask about this here. Lots of people ask about such things.

Enjoy your purchase.
