Slightly overweight caterpillar (Princessing for those too old to be a princess...) ...

dreams of being a butterfly...

In my 20s and 30s I knew who I was (City girl) had regular treatments and looked pretty good even if I do say so myself.

Since I turned 40 (im 47 now) i've lost my identify, and to be honest I just don't bother anymore. The last year (lockdowns) have caused me to be even worse.
If i look at myself I don't even recognise who I am...

I'm 100% fed up with myself.

Is there a princess thread at the moment?

If not anyone else want to join me on a Caterpillar to Butterfly journey?

So far i've booked in highlights and a trim, pedicure, manicure, waxing, facial, massage - all spread over the next 6 weeks.
I've a PT session booked for Wednesday.
I'm trying to keep (falling a bit) to Exante.

I've ordered 3 bras in various sizes as i've no clue what size I am anymore.

I need to sort out clothes, make up etc

Who is in on our journey of self discovery (haha!) ?

@gingercat02

On no! I would have a nervous breakdown if I had to get rid of clothes 😲😪
Haha! I felt a bit like that getting dressed this morning - which is why i'm doing a sort out. I have so much stuff that is old, doesn't fit, faded etc that I find getting dressed so stressful - I nearly end up in tears daily not knowing what to wear.

I'm very impressed but I just couldn't although I'm pretty good about chucking stuff if it's old or worn out. DH is the hoarder in this house. I swear if he lived on his own he would be in one of those houses full of empty boxes and old magazines

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/05/2021 11:51

Ive been away (not a holiday) and did basically nought to myself except wash .
So Im feeling very meh .

I now have Olaplex 3 in my hair . That will be followed with the Bleach London Silver S/C then Olaplex 6

I need to do a wax/elipate for my legs and armpits

Bought myself some new leggings ( black M&S) and a couple of tops .

I have a birthday soon , my DS usualy gives me £30 to buy something online . DD and I will go shopping to browse about and I'll see if anything catches my eye .
Im going to scout round John Lewis and M&S .

I've been out today and got a two multi packs of knickers. All ready for my big sort out tomorrow.

I also got a short sleeve jumper - felt too cold to buy summer clothes!

Morning All, How are we all doing?

I had my (now regular) mani and pedi and I also had HD Brows done. They looked so nice after the beautician did them. I've tried to pencil in the gaps this morning but the pencil doesn't seen to drawer on my face :/ ANy way I tried and I used the glue thingy...

I'm onto sorting out my bra drawers today... The knicker drawer yesterday was a success, I threw out a lot that should've gone a long time ago! - this morning it looked so much better than being full of old grey ones :D

There is a charity that takes old bras isn't there - does anyone know who it is?

I'll need to get some new bra's I really miss having a size where I could wear gorgeous brands. I've been stuck in my very boring Bravissimo Satin for so long now, I miss pretty bras :( and matching sets
Anyone recommend any nice brands for small backs and big cup? - I've always thought it odd that choices are so limited being that so many tiny glam women have boob jobs...

Botox booked, teeth whitening booked and going to look into a lash tint / lift! Toying with getting a good few inches off my hair too.

Really want to get a PT as I'm so flabby and weak. But it's big outlay so I'm nervous! Those that have it - is it worth it?

Next stop is to sort out the wardrobe and get out of leggings!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/05/2021 22:35

I have bought myself 5 new bras in the past month , I'm going through and binning the old ones . As I;m too idle to wash them by hand (they do go in a padded net bag though) I need to push them back into shape before hanging them up . But once they go they're useless .

I bought some jeggings to wear instead of leggings or jeans .

Nearly bought some Bleach London dye but I had a word with myself and put it back Grin

FirmlyRooted · 29/05/2021 05:57

@bbbbbbbbb - I started using a PT a few months ago and rate it highly. Doing 30 minute sessions at £27 per session (London) so yes it adds up but I'm useless at doing strength training on my own so feel it's an investment in my health. Not lost any weight but feel stronger and no sore back at end of the day in front of laptop

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/06/2021 09:24

Giving this a Bump Up .

My Caterpillar-ing has gone a bit A.W.O.L. , been busy at work but now have a couple of free days .

Might do some vague wandering round the garden, getting some sun (SPF protected obvs) on my skin.

Carriemac · 11/06/2021 08:01

The michael
Mosley 21 days programme was inspiring

Karcheer · 15/06/2021 12:09

Hi All,

How are we doing?

I still haven't managed to sort out my wardrobe, but I'm feeling a bit better - I guess that's the sun!
I've ordered some new clothes - although it's currently too hot to wear most of them!

I’ve had Botox done and booked in for an Illumi facial in a few weeks’ time. Hair balayage booked for 23rd. Having a mini pamper night and doing self tan and nails. I really need to gut the wardrobe but it’s been a busy few months! I have new clothes but keep putting off wearing them, what’s wrong with me!?

jaffacakes16 · 17/06/2021 21:28

Oh dear I joined this thread with good intentions and then like many good intentions it was lost.

@StellaLeonte have you had Botox before, what area’s did you get? I really want it but am breastfeeding at the min so can’t, I think it’s going to be an end of feeding treat to myself.

I did have great feet for a few weeks thanks to a recommended heel repair cream but even that simple task fell by the wayside. Will attempt to get back on the wagon.

jaffacakes16 · 17/06/2021 21:30

Actually doing myself a disservice I’ve remembered I have bought some much needed new underwear, jeans and a dress so not all bad.

66babe · 17/06/2021 22:05

Just found your thread .. can I join
Less caterpillar .. think more slug

Carriemac · 22/06/2021 09:52

Penguinsmum · 23/07/2022 15:19

Hoping by posting it will bring this thread to the top of my list

Had a real trouble with bras. Being big with 'busty substances', I really suffered in the heat with bra rubbing. Went on holiday with 4 bras, 2 I could not do up (I bloat in the heat, it is fun trying to dress in the morning!), only the two Primark pull on bras fit (sort of), but I had to wash them every night, they were so clammy!

Bought one from Marks which is not a pull on but is so soft and comfy and gives me a better shape. I had better buy more of this style. Washed my hair today and it feels so much better. On holiday it was in a permanent ponytail and rather straggly and got in my ice cream, ugh!

Cannot go down the laser route for unwanted hair cos most of them are white! Got an Oral B toothbrush for the bargain price of £10 today. Am hoping my teeth will look less yellow.

Now I am back from holiday I intend to join a gym for swimming and exercises, fairly gently stuff as I have rheumatism in my knee. I am also going back to my Slimfast. I really love iced coffee but this is a less calorific and sweet version of it. I also don't mind the vanilla one and tell myself it is melted ice cream! I am also trying to walk a bit more every day. Trying to get back to eating healthily, though actually I was pretty good on holiday.

Since I had a mild dose of Covid at Christmas, I have felt really sludgy and not up to much. I used to love walking even with my dodgy knee!

wow - this old thread of mine popped up and I need it more now than I did then!
