Slightly overweight caterpillar (Princessing for those too old to be a princess...) ...

dreams of being a butterfly...

In my 20s and 30s I knew who I was (City girl) had regular treatments and looked pretty good even if I do say so myself.

Since I turned 40 (im 47 now) i've lost my identify, and to be honest I just don't bother anymore. The last year (lockdowns) have caused me to be even worse.
If i look at myself I don't even recognise who I am...

I'm 100% fed up with myself.

Is there a princess thread at the moment?

If not anyone else want to join me on a Caterpillar to Butterfly journey?

So far i've booked in highlights and a trim, pedicure, manicure, waxing, facial, massage - all spread over the next 6 weeks.
I've a PT session booked for Wednesday.
I'm trying to keep (falling a bit) to Exante.

I've ordered 3 bras in various sizes as i've no clue what size I am anymore.

I need to sort out clothes, make up etc

Who is in on our journey of self discovery (haha!) ?

rainbowwelly what does a shag mullet look like? So bored of my current style and finally getting my hair cut next week.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 24/04/2021 08:41

@rainbowwelly your hair sounds fab. Any chance of a pic of yourself or another example?

I need inspiration. I have come to the conclusion that I need to do something very different with my hair as my chocolate brown dye does not do well in lockdowns (I am completely white at the front).

rainbowwelly · 24/04/2021 08:52

I went from the dark to the blonde.

Added bonus, the fringe covers my forehead lines so no need to resort to Botox yet. Grin

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 24/04/2021 08:55

@rainbowwelly I love the colour!

rainbowwelly · 24/04/2021 08:58

Thank you @SlatternIsMyMiddleName I probably trust my colourist probably more than anybody else in my life. I've been with her since she was an apprentice and now she has celeb clients and all sorts. I just let her do what she wants Grin

Campervan69 · 24/04/2021 09:11

Looks amazing. The colour is gorgeous.

noblegreenk · 24/04/2021 09:57

I'm 36 next month but after having my DD (2.5yrs ago) I feel I look terribly frumpy! I just don't have the time to look after myself like I used to. Last had my hair cut in Jan 2020 so it's currently very long, out of condition and it's gone incredibly dull. I have got an appointment for 5th May for a haircut, so that's the first step. I've also put just over a stone in weight on during lockdown and it seems to have really affected my chin/face. My DH took a pic of me in the garden yesterday and I hardly recognised myself! I'm considering having a non surgical double chin removal treatment but unsure of how permanent the results would be.

Llamallamadingdong · 24/04/2021 09:58

Gorgeous colour @rainbowwelly

Slapped on some body lotion this morning and have been putting on foot cream and socks overnight all week so should have sandal ready feet when the time comes.

We are going to a BBQ today (weather permitting) and I’m going to make an effort with some nice makeup and jewellery so I don’t look so corpse like.

cathyandclare · 24/04/2021 10:54

Well done all caterpillars. I've managed to lose a few pounds and have actually exercised for the first time this year! I feel like I'm slowly getting my mojo back. Going to venture into the gym this afternoon.

I'm a bit all or nothing, so hoping this is a long and successful 'all' phase!

MsAnnFrope · 24/04/2021 12:11

I’ve gone blonder after months of mousey roots and had it chopped to a long wavy Bob. It looks so much healthier and I love it!
I’ll not post pics cos I’ve put one on fb and I’m sure I know people on here irl

MsAnnFrope · 24/04/2021 12:14

@noblegreenk any weight gain goes straight to my face too. I’m trying to distract from it with a strong red lip and new hair cut.

Funnily enough I've been rocking the red lippy too, for similar reasons! I've just spoken to a beauty therapist about non surgical double chin removal. She said it lasts 1-2yrs, so going to get booked in for that at the end of May.

Standrewsschool · 24/04/2021 13:19

Saw the title and initially wondered why a thread about ‘Colin the Caterpillar’ cake was in Style and Beauty!

My transition started last year, but got stuck in the last year. I have started eating healthier, but my weight seems to have plateaued. Up I’m trying MyFitnessApp and eating 1400 a day, apart from our family Sunday roast where I have a full meal, wine and dessert ( and probably eat 1400 calories in one sitting!).

Llamallamadingdong · 24/04/2021 13:55

What’s non surgical double chin removal @noblegreenk?!

noblegreenk · 24/04/2021 14:12

@Llamallamadingdong

What’s non surgical double chin removal *@noblegreenk*?!
They massage your double chin with a rounded metal wand type device. I think it uses some sort of frequency to break down the fatty tissue. She said that you can see an immediate but subtle difference but you have to drink lots of water for a couple of weeks afterwards. This then helps your body 'pass' the broken down fat out through your urine and the effects increase over the two weeks post treatment. She said the effects of the treatment lasts for 1-2yrs.
MsAnnFrope · 24/04/2021 14:46

@noblegreenk I’m just going to have to suck it up and lose the weight. It’s only a stone which if I actually make the effort will shift in a couple months!

AwkwardSquad · 25/04/2021 07:00

I had a great haircut yesterday, feels miles better. The blow dry was excellent too, I shall have never be able to replicate it but I enjoyed my swishy locks all day Grin

Llamallamadingdong · 25/04/2021 17:39

Very intrigued by the idea of the non surgical double chin removal...

Not the best weekend here- over indulged at a BBQ yesterday and so am bloated and dehydrated today. Back on the wagon tomorrow!

Namechange2790 · 25/04/2021 17:46

Well I’ve lost 2lb this week, dressed up and straightened my hair and went to the pub. Treated myself to a wine (usually tee total, only drink at Christmas) but felt great however it went straight to my head and I’m now stuffing my face with a kebab. Whoops. Feel a million times better in myself now though after going out. I’m incredibly introverted anyway, and the last 12 months have virtually turned me into a recluse so it was nice to be out socialising.

MsAnnFrope · 25/04/2021 18:19

Healthy eating starts properly tomorrow. Going to track on mfp. Trying to do no sugary snacks as this weeks goal. Last week was drink more water.

Standrewsschool · 25/04/2021 18:26

Trying to up the exercise and been for three walks this weekend.

Yesterday, two half an hour walks, and today a nice hour walk along the beach. Lovely to walk along the coast, although very windy - bracing!

Campervan69 · 25/04/2021 19:38

I have had an amazing weekend but a lot of socialising, a lot of alcohol and a lot of food. But after the past year I really don't care. It was ace.

Back on it tomorrow with the body balance class and the healthy eating.

Karcheer · 26/04/2021 15:00

Afternoon Caterpillars!

This week I have my waxing appointment, three gym sessions booked in (one tonight) and a nutrition assessment at the gym (tomorrow).

I've sorted through my gym kit today, but I think I need to be more brutal, some of it I've had for a long time (20years I reckon)... It seems ok but it's just old...

Anyone else really struggle to throw stuff away?

I really need to sort out my undies drawer it was on my to do list for last week - but it just feels so hard.

I literally find it impossible to throw things away or buy myself anything new. I really don't know how to help myself.

Campervan69 · 26/04/2021 15:54

I'm bad at throwing things out too. I tend to do a soft throw out first (bagged and into the loft) to see if i need it. Nothing more annoying than looking for something and realising you've chucked it.
