How long has everyone got to go before their hairdressers appointment?

Mine is on the 1st May as my hairdresser was very fair and phoned everyone in the order they had their previous appointments booked in. My hair is atrocious but I keep telling myself 3 more weeks!

I would quite like a change of style as so much of it feel out due to lockdown stress last year so I'm telling myself 3 weeks of extra hair growth gives them a bit more to play with. When are your appointments and what are you having done?

Had messaged. Walked into the salon today. Got given haircut at end of April, and highlights 3 days later.

TheOrigRights · 13/04/2021 23:23

23 sleeps!

mybonnieliesovertheocean2 · 13/04/2021 23:25

Tomorrow! I will be wearing a head scarf and under an umbrella after washing out my many months of root spray Grin

QueenPaw · 14/04/2021 00:41

29th May! It's a curly specialist so long wait usually anyway

peak2021 · 14/04/2021 07:20

Thursday! Yes tomorrow!

Me too! However I am finding it very difficult to get rid of the spray - shampoo doesn't seem to work and I am left with an orangey tinge on the white hair!! What did you use?
mybonnieliesovertheocean2 · 14/04/2021 19:05

MagicSummer my root spray is loreal magic retouch and phil smiths spray... took me two shampoos to wash it out,...

PilatesPeach · 14/04/2021 19:43

Been doing my own now for a year - have had one salon cut in July £33 for a wet cut and was in there maximum 15 minutes so I use a £5 box dye and trim my own fringe and my handyman who is my bubble does my roots and trims the back which is one length. I used to go every 8 weeks and have an inch taken off so have saved loads of money over £150 and no sure I will go back to a salon for the foreseeable future.

cptartapp · 14/04/2021 19:52

My appointment was today. It's not been cut or coloured for six months. I mixed up the appointment time so she couldn't squeeze me in (as mine takes so long to do) so I've had to rebook for two weeks.
Gutted!

goose1964 · 14/04/2021 20:33

I haven't been to the hairdressers for 5 and a bit years, I'm sure I can wait for the rush to die down

StCharlotte · 14/04/2021 22:47

May 8th. I can only do Saturdays. I'm having my usual cut (this isn't me!).

@Bluesheep8

About 5 hours. My pixie cut has not fared well since 29th Dec as it's usually cut every 3 weeks.
@Bluesheep8 - snap, same here although mine was last cut on 7 December.

I couldn’t get a cut booked until 27 April. The hairdressers phoned today and said they were juggling around appointments and to ask if they could bring forward my cut ... by 15 minutes!

romdowa · 14/04/2021 23:15

I rang a couple of places today and one place just had a cancellation, so I got done and it feels awesome. I hate the feeling of hair on my neck.

veryveryfine · 14/04/2021 23:23

Had mine cut on monday. Short pixie cut had begun to look like Boris hair after about 5 months! Had always coloured it as started to go grey in my 30's. Took the plunge about 2 years ago & am now rocking the silver grey!

TashieWoo · 14/04/2021 23:37

I booked a cut about 6 weeks ago when the online booking opened, was meant to be tomorrow evening but got a call this evening to say it had been cancelled 😫

My free time to get it done is limited so I’m trying to get an appointment somewhere else without much luck... I just want a trim and my fringe putting back in!

CrotchetyQuaver · 14/04/2021 23:41

1145 tomorrow morning - I'm am so looking forward to it! Fed up of my shaggy mullet.

PrematureConker · 15/04/2021 00:01

Friday. I've not had a colour for a year now and stopped blow drying and straightening my hair during the first lockdown. It looked bloody awful then but now it's in fab condition and I really like the length - but the remains of the dye have to go.

mooonstone · 15/04/2021 00:03

Had mine yesterday (14th). Sooo happy, it’s actually the nicest my colour and cut has looked in years.

mooonstone · 15/04/2021 00:06

@MagicSummer use a clarifying shampoo or an anti dandruff shampoo as they give a deeper clean

MagicSummer · 15/04/2021 12:33

Just back from my appointment - my hair feels fantastic and I look years younger! I didn't realise just how bad it looked! Hairdressers are wonderful!

PollyThePony · 15/04/2021 12:57

@PilatesPeach, I've just asked DH if he'll do mine. It really is just a case of trimming half an inch off the end. And he's an engineer, so very precise. I'm sure it's EXACTLY like being a hairdresser Wink. I have been box dying mine lately, but I'm knocking that on the head and going au natural colour wise. Bye bye bottle blonde, hello mousy with a few greys natural beauty Grin

Frazzled2207 · 15/04/2021 13:00

Next Tuesday but I have an appointment with eyebrows lady tomorrow which is almost as exciting

mommybunny · 15/04/2021 17:01

Just bagged an appointment for this Saturday! It’s with someone I don’t know at my normal salon but it’s just a trim (I had my last cut on 19 December, just before my area jumped from Tier 2 to Tier 4) and my hair is medium length and fairly low maintenance so I’m hoping for the best.

Also just got an eyebrow waxing on Monday which is just as exciting (and needed!).

AgentCooper · 15/04/2021 19:07

Aaaargh. I got mine cut today, new salon. She didn’t listen to me at all, I said I wanted it below my shoulders and she’s basically given me a bob. And she straightened it. I’ve waited since Jan 2020 for a haircut and I fucking hate it. At least I can wash the straighteners out and it’ll tie back.

SpeckledyHen · 15/04/2021 21:04

12 hours ⏰
