Please tell me your best white trainer purchases! Ideally to wear with midi and maxi skirts but comfy enough to walk a distance.

I always admire the effortless way some of the women I have seen, walking around the streets of London in their white trainers and floaty dresses.

I am due to go to London (hopefully) in August and need a great pair of trainers that ideally are stylish and super comfy from the get go!

I would possibly need to add an insole depending on the trainer, as I’ve just had issues dealing with plantar fasciitis! Really don’t want to be putting up with that nonsense while trying to cram as much of London as I possibly can!

So, please tell me your go to trainers, the ones you know won’t let you down but that you feel good in too!

I do have a great lived in pair of Converse but fancy a change and really want to invest in a great pair of trainers that are going to stand the test of time!

Stan Smiths definitely. I’ve heard that Vejas are really uncomfortable, Supergas make my ankles look really thick for some reason and converse aren’t that comfortable to walk all day in. I have a pair of white Boden ones that are really uncomfortable as well.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/04/2021 12:16

I don’t know what sort of insoles one wears for plantar fasciitis, but I have high arches and insteps and wear half orthotics in my Stan smiths and they work really well to increase the support. They’re super comfy anyway but that helps me stand up in them for longer without lower back pain.

DonGray · 10/04/2021 12:17

I found superga really heavy
Happy with my Stan Smiths

Mummydoctor · 10/04/2021 12:21

I love my Nike Air Force ones. Have them in white leather and also a black suede with gold tick. Very comfortable and supportive. No issues with blistering.

YesThisIsMe · 10/04/2021 12:24

I’ve got PF and find Supergas OK for a twenty minute walk to the shops and back but not a full day’s sightseeing. You need to burn your Converse because they are the actual devil with PF.

I have FitFlop Rallys. They will definitely see you right for a full day’s walking, but they’re not as fashio (I liked that, I’m going to help make it happen) as the Adidas, the Stan Smiths or the Veja. Worth a look though.

Mufflete · 10/04/2021 12:25

Sezane Jack - so so comfy, I've worn mine to death for about 2 years.

WhereAreWeNow · 10/04/2021 12:26

If you have PF I recommend looking at Fitflop Rally trainers. Soft white leather, lots of cushioning, and a bit of arch support. I think they look really stylish too.

KatChocolate · 10/04/2021 12:33

I quite like the look of the Fitflop trainers but unsure whether they might look a bit too chunky on me. Wish they did different designs. They might, I’ve only looked on one page.

I am wary of wearing my Converse this time round. This is the first year I’ve really struggled with PF but I’m hoping the insoles I’ve bought will help.

I have these from Gola www.stories.com/en_gbp/shoes/sneakers/gola/product.gola-classics-coaster-rainbow-white.0950952001.html?utm_source=Lyst+UK/EU&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=73329&utm_content=15&utm_term=678238&ranMID=41994&ranEAID=gcdL/ATRVoE&ranSiteID=gcdL_ATRVoE-dH5CbUTUm9fMtLhZtVnx8A

They are pretty much the only shoes I've ever worn that didn't rub my feet in some way, they're so comfortable. I guess they're more plimsolls than trainers tho

slooowdaysinlockdown · 10/04/2021 12:48

Stan smiths all the way. Mine took a little time to break in but now feel like slippers.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/04/2021 12:52

Supergas are really wide - they didn't work for me at all. I only wear my Converse for days when I won't be walking miles and miles - too flat.

Laaaaa · 10/04/2021 12:52

I love puma cali's. I'm hourglass and they balance me out. Get lots of compliments on them. Reduced currently as well

DiscoJanet · 10/04/2021 13:01

I've got white air and grace and they are not comfortable for much walking, at all - still give me blisters after months. Adidas superstars and Stan smiths are a bit better. But most comfy by far are Nike air Max - can walk for hours and never any blisters even first time wearing them.

DiscoJanet · 10/04/2021 13:03

Also air Max have much more sole cushioning so way more supportive than converse, superga etc

Wizzbangfizz · 10/04/2021 13:04

I have a pair of Adidas which look great but are the devils work in terms of comfort!

alloutofcareunits · 10/04/2021 13:04

Nike Air Force 1s are extremely comfortable, absolutely love mine

JemIsMyNameNooneElseIsTheSame · 10/04/2021 13:15

Another vote for Stan Smiths

Lupinhere37 · 10/04/2021 13:37

@KatChocolate if you have PF, I’ll retract the Supergas for a full day’s sightseeing. I have nasty PF; I find my Supergas great for a few hours but would go Adidas Stan Smith, or Gazelles for a full day. Converse are the work of the devil for PF. I swear that wearing Converse around Disneyland is what started my PF.

TSSDNCOP · 10/04/2021 13:41

Adidas originals. I wear mine nearly every day, they are 18 months old and a quick spin on the washing machine the other day has given them at least until Autumn I reckon.

hiptobeasquare · 10/04/2021 13:59

I have air and grace. I have wide feet and I wish I’d sized up. I also don’t think they are much more comfortable than the average trainer. I wouldn’t re purchase them.

Watchingthetelly · 10/04/2021 13:59

I would not recommend fit flops if the goal is to look trendy in London! I’m sure they are comfortable and all but...

Throughabushbackwards · 10/04/2021 14:04

I've just bought these. They are very comfy and crisp white without being too chunky looking, on sale for £59 at Schuh at the min -

zenasfuck · 10/04/2021 14:06

Nike Air Force one

I have arthritic, very wide feet and these are the only trainers I can put on out of the box and wear all day

IvysPoison · 10/04/2021 14:07

Stan Smiths. So comfortable.

KatChocolate · 10/04/2021 14:12

A few posters have mentioned Stan Smith.

What do you think of these?

These are more the look I’m after without being super chunky.
