Please tell me your best white trainer purchases! Ideally to wear with midi and maxi skirts but comfy enough to walk a distance.

I always admire the effortless way some of the women I have seen, walking around the streets of London in their white trainers and floaty dresses.

I am due to go to London (hopefully) in August and need a great pair of trainers that ideally are stylish and super comfy from the get go!

I would possibly need to add an insole depending on the trainer, as I’ve just had issues dealing with plantar fasciitis! Really don’t want to be putting up with that nonsense while trying to cram as much of London as I possibly can!

So, please tell me your go to trainers, the ones you know won’t let you down but that you feel good in too!

I do have a great lived in pair of Converse but fancy a change and really want to invest in a great pair of trainers that are going to stand the test of time!

My Stan smiths are more uncomfortable than my vejas, the sole feels exactly the same but the Stan smiths often rub my ankle and leave blisters and I’ve never managed to wear them in.

I think Adidas gazelles or continentals are more comfortable than Stan smiths.

Howmercurialislife · 10/04/2021 19:27

My Veja Campos are the most comfortable trainers...my puma calis on the other hand still give me blisters after a year of wear.

Fellow PF sufferer and I can't wear a lot of the flat shoes, even adding insoles. So I now just buy Asics, Adidas or Nike (new balance would be good too). Just got some Asics in black for dog walks and didn't need to wear them in at all. they were the jolt 3 which I think comes in white

Don't get the sketchers with memory foam, not good for the PF

Sugarcube84 · 10/04/2021 19:51

Admittedly not white but I’ve had a pair of black ones from kirt Geiger that have been lovely and comfy

@KatChocolate

I quite like the look of the Fitflop trainers but unsure whether they might look a bit too chunky on me. Wish they did different designs. They might, I’ve only looked on one page.

I am wary of wearing my Converse this time round. This is the first year I’ve really struggled with PF but I’m hoping the insoles I’ve bought will help.

They're less chunky than my Stan Smiths. I'd say they're a similar shape to my Supergas but just loads comfier!

Are Stan Smiths true to size? My Adidas running trainers are a size up from my usual shoe size, can anyone advise whether I should do the same? Thanks

MagicMatilda · 11/04/2021 10:26

Air and grace...like butter

I think they come up very big! I always size down

I have a lovely comfy canvas pair from Joules that are off white/cream and look fab with dresses, shorts, skirts etc. Think they’re called Coast Pump.

Waterfallgirl · 11/04/2021 11:00

@MagicMatilda thanks

PinkTonic · 11/04/2021 11:07

I’ve just bought these and they are really lovely

Just on the socks thing, I tried for YEARS to find decent trainer socks that don’t fall down. The best and only place I’ll ever buy socks now is Stance

Get a classic no show ones, they’re absolutely brilliant I promise

bunny85 · 11/04/2021 11:52

I have Lacoste white trainers, they are leather, very comfy and look stylish

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 11/04/2021 11:55

@FloralJammies

I bought these. I didn’t want a pair with loads of stitching or that looked chunky. I’ve also got a pair for Fitflop Rally trainers that are comfy.
Agree with this. Fitflop trainers are really comfortable
Squeejit · 11/04/2021 11:58

Another vote for Stan Smiths here. They took a few wears to break in but now I walk miles in them.

TheFairyCaravan · 11/04/2021 12:06

I’ve got Puma Calis and Stan Smiths.

I’ve got ridiculously skinny legs but they both still look good. I find the Puma Calis the most comfortable. I’ve tried some Superga and Converse but I need to list them on eBay because I don’t get on with them.

twinsister · 11/04/2021 12:11

I’ve just bought a pair of white Woden trainers which I love. And they’ve got a bit of a platform. Not the cheapest though! Www.Woden.com

You can never go wrong with a classic Adidas style like Superstars or Stan Smiths. They have looked good for decades and will still look good in 30 years time.

Guardup · 11/04/2021 15:17

I love airs and graces and also plan on getting these...

@Shorthairlady
I recommend converse but there’s a specific type, I think they’re called something dainty. I always wear these until they fall apart

Aswad · 11/04/2021 15:21

New balance 720s are like walking on air but colours tend to be a bit brighter

LadyEloise · 11/04/2021 16:47

Skechers ArchFit Refine in white.

TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 11/04/2021 19:05

Stan Smiths here too. I have a couple of pairs of Veja and they are awful, no cushioned sole and they pinch my toe terribly. Same with Converse. Superga are ok for a summer shoe but not year round. Stan Smiths are comfy, classy and wear really well.

Suja1 · 25/04/2021 17:29

I would echo what others on here have said about Air and Grace. They are so expensive and market themselves as being the most comfortable ever. They are not. On my first outing of ten minutes, I had blisters on both feet. Also, they are quite narrow at the front although they don't look it. Would not recommend. I shall now look for others mentioned here.

Theglassmakerofmurano · 25/04/2021 18:02

Stan Smiths and Adidas Gazelles. Both very comfortable and stylish without be try too hard.
