Supergas-yes or no?

I've heard them mentioned on here and had a look today and love all the different colours. Are they a good choice for someone in their 40s? I'd be wearing them with jeans or linen trousers. Are they comfy? I had converse once and they were bloody awful and so heavy. I have skinny feet and walk a lot so need to be comfy.

I love mine, Very comfortable although large fitting (I sized up as was told they were small and narrow. Not true). I kept them as missed return deadline and now they're like my comfy old slippers in summer.

Supergas are chic and they're not trendy enough to go out of fashion in the first place. They're simple and pretty (not too sporty), I find them 100x comfier than Stan Smiths.

I’ve got through 2 white pairs of canvas Superga’s, both fell apart quite quickly, in about 3 months...I think I paid @£35 for each but I was disappointed nonetheless. I’ve also had Toms recently and they’ve fallen apart quickly too. I do walk a lot but I’ve been annoyed with the quality of both. I’m going to try Air & Grace trainers as I love their sandals, even though they’re a bit pricey...

They're not chic.

I like mine. Light and easy to wear. I am too old for chunky trainers.

They are fine for day to day but not comfortable for walks.

I haven’t seen anyone in Converse for a long time.

I like how they look but don't find them comfortable. They're heavy and there's no arch support. They're much more comfortable than Converse IMO but they're still pretty uncomfortable for me.

I love mine, have a metallic pair and they’ve lasted several years.
I like the look of converse on others, but I always find they look clumpy on my feet. The superbas give you the converse kind of vibe, but to me look more grown up and go with everything.

My supergas have been delivered and they are so bloody comfy. Very impressed.

KeyboardWorriers · 08/04/2021 00:16

I like mine. I couldnt care less about what is fashionable though!

They are definitely a wider fit than converse however.

I'm in Italy and so they're the summer slob down to the beach footwear of choice for teenagers mainly.

They are heavy and (imo) uncomfortable. You think when you put them on how comfy they are because of the moulded footbed (much better than Converse for example) but then when you walk in them they take some wearing in.

professionalnomad · 08/04/2021 13:51

I LOVE my Supergas - the most comfortable trainers I;ve ever had. I wear them with everything. I have the rose pink metallic glitter - and I'm 38!

I actually wore my leather Suoergas into town today for the first time in ages and I have to say, they weren't as comfy as I remember! Does anyone have any recs for similar flat trainers that do have a bit of arch support?

AprilFoolaround · 10/04/2021 09:36

Mine have arrived and I do like the look of them. They are heavy though. They aren't the shade of blue they appeared on the screen so that's disappointing and I've ordered a couple more pairs to see which colour I like best. They seem quite comfy or at least as comfy as any flat shoe. Some insoles with arch support would solve any arch support issues. They remind me of my old Ellesse suede that I had in the late 90s. They were purple and awesome and I loved them.
