Looking for appropriate brands for a hoodie...

Posh Hmm

Jack wills or stone Island.

YouSingIt · 28/03/2021 15:42

@LaBellina

My brother loves Kenzo hoodies. I see Stone Island mentioned a lot here. Since when is that posh again? No offense but in my circle it was always seen as a ‘hooligan brand’ Confused
Yes. I've seen loads of Stone Island worn to football by the same demographic who used to wear Burberry. Definitely not posh.
Einszwei · 28/03/2021 15:55

Kooples

Larryslockdownlunch · 28/03/2021 16:11

Moncler is defo drug dealing get up 😂

HasaDigaEebowai · 28/03/2021 16:16

I just wouldn't go there. Buying teen boys clothing is tricky at the best of times but if you don't know specifically what he likes then you're risking paying a lot of money for something he'll never wear

ThePricklySheep · 28/03/2021 16:24

@Larryslockdownlunch

Moncler is defo drug dealing get up 😂
£500 for a hoodie, so that makes sense. Shock
Miseryl · 28/03/2021 17:10

We are working class and my 15 year old DS wears 90% Nike so avoid that! 😂

Miseryl · 28/03/2021 17:12

And yes the snobbery is laughable and sneery at working class teens, most of whom will be perfectly nice lads.

justwaydamin · 28/03/2021 17:25

Mki miyuki zoku is cool (says a private school lad I know)

dementedma · 28/03/2021 17:34

Blimey DS wore Asda at that age, or Matalan if he was going "posh". Hes now 19 and still not really into brands thank goodness. He's saving up to get Invisalign for his teeth so guess that's where his vanity is going to be lol

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 28/03/2021 17:37

@Miseryl yes indeed, makes me feel defensive of the kids I work with

Sssloou · 28/03/2021 18:07

It’s dangerous territory this - potential landmine......and all so fickle - it could be out of favour by the time it is unwrapped.

I have 4 DCs and the coolest wears some vintage Burberry to be ironic.....!

Miseryl · 28/03/2021 18:32

So far my DS is a drug dealer, a bully and bases his self worth entirely on succumbing to marketing. Interesting. I'd like to see what else he is that I thus haven't discovered about him. Hmm

DustyMaiden · 28/03/2021 18:37

My DS doesn’t wear hoodies, everyone thinks he’s posh. He doesn’t wear labels because he thinks it’s hilarious that you pay £30 for a jumper and another £200 if you want to do advertising for the designer.

He’s not really posh he just has Aspergers.

HopeClearwater · 28/03/2021 18:41

@17CherryTreeLane how does a 17 year old afford Comme des Garçons ?

RandomGrammarPun · 28/03/2021 18:43

The posh kids I know don't wear hoodie. Or brand names.

17CherryTreeLane · 28/03/2021 18:45

@HopeClearwater he saves birthday and Christmas money and has fewer clothes than friends, but takes care of them. He also sells stuff on.

stevalnamechanger · 28/03/2021 18:45

"Posh posh is Moncler, Gucci, Canada Goose, Off White" |

This is chavy :D not posh.

KittyMcKitty · 28/03/2021 18:50

Posh in what way?

According to my 18 year old it’s impossible to answer because it depends on how you define posh - he says a photo of boy would make it v easy to answer 😀 . Depending on which type of “posh” it could be any of these:

FA / Polar / Vintage

Palace / Supreme

Monclear / D squared

A Schoffel (sp?) wearer would want Fred Perry

17CherryTreeLane · 28/03/2021 18:52

Oh, and my Ds isn't posh either, he just really enjoys clothes, so I answered in case it was helpful.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 28/03/2021 19:04

The poshest kids I know (old money / Eton / Harrow / Oundle / CLC etc) wear clothes from Uniqlo, H&M, Asos etc. Hoodies, fashion items etc.

However, the also have handmade, Saville Row / Jermyn St jackets and shirts (the girls wear a lot of Needle and Thread) for formal. Great quality tweed that’ll last for years. Shoes are suede moccasins. Trousers are NOT those skin right ‘parsnip’ legs beloved of #watchwankers

RedElephants · 28/03/2021 19:44

My son no1 (22) likes Benjart, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi's a bit of Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein..
Son no2 (19) is not into clothes at all, and probably wouldn't know a "brand" name if it hit him.. just as well as he hates shopping so I still get his clothes for him ConfusedHmm
