Carrying on the great tradition of this thread - where those that are addicted to beauty products come together and support one another!

Dm tried to give me an eyeshadow pallet today. I was strong and said no.

She got it as a freebee in boots. She spent £20 on max factor (I think) and got a decent goody bag. Eyeshadow pallet is by sleek and it’s all neutrals.

Experiment627 · 25/06/2021 20:56

I nearly got one of the Friends ones too but this is the one that had the colours I wanted...

I have about 5 MUA palettes... they all seem to have very similar colours - so this is a nice change. I think I should review my MUA ones and give away/chuck those that are duplicates

That’s so pretty.

Can you prize the shadows out? And then just keep the shades you like? I’m sure there’s a YouTube video on this somewhere.

Ha! Me too. I’m one of those minimalists who loves “stuff”

I want to be one of those minimalists who has one of everything she needs. Plus one in backstock.

ememem84 · 26/06/2021 07:18

Threw out a pot of Nivea soft. It was a freebee from dsis which she was given as an end of term but from ne of the kids she teaches. I put some on my face. Instantly regretted it. I don’t know why I even tried it.

FreshFaceTime · 26/06/2021 08:22

@ememem84 Nivea soft is a HG for me Grin

Funny isn’t it how what works for one doesn’t work for someone else!

I’m on a bit of an empty roll. Finished cantu coconut shampoo and conditioner this morning. Another mistake. I bought the trial set after being recommended it by a friend for my wavy frizzy thick hair. She thought if I did curly girl I’d be amazed. Turns out not amazed. And the shampoo just made my hair feel sticky and thick and ick. So used up.

Clinique moisture surge moisturiser. This is a staple for me. Have a few other products in the day moisturiser category to try first mostly samples so will whizz through those before I break out another Clinique. It’s pricey but lasts ages.

FreshFaceTime · 26/06/2021 08:41

@ememem84 yeah I find it fascinating actually.

I love Clinique moisture surge too. Used it years ago and recently rediscovered it. I prefer gel moisturisers in summer then the Nivea soft tends to come out in winter. Aldi did a fab moisture surge dupe earlier this year. I bought 6! I know this is a thread about working through the stash but just thought I'd share.

Experiment627 · 26/06/2021 09:19

@ememem84 they are MUA - so not great quality - so not sure that kind of effort would be worth it

@FreshFaceTime don't feel bad about sharing your hoard... we all get it!

I oscillate between wanting to be a total minimalist to wanting EVERYTHING!!!!

One empty fir me, Mio liquid yoga bath soak, bought as a treat fir me in my birthday when no one got me bath oil, it was recommended in an Independent review, sooooo disappointing! Smells nice but no smoothness in the bath, no promised feeling of soft skin, nada! So any bath oil or similar recommendations most welcome.

Actually @ememem84 maybe I should do as you say and create one palette with just the colours I like...

One full size empty for me - Bodyshop Honey and Almond Milk Body Butter. I won this in a raffle. Much to my surprise, I loved it. I used it every night before bed and my skin feels amazing. Even the hard skin on my heels has softened.
Now the Almond Milk one is without honey as they've decided to make this product vegan.
Currently working my way towards the end of a Body Shop Rose body yogurt, but I'm not quite there yet.

VanGoghsDog · 26/06/2021 20:10

Three empties - Nioxin mousse thing (I have a replacement), Inky List peptide hair thing, a perfume I can't remember the name of that was relegated to a loo air freshener.

Experiment627 · 26/06/2021 21:07

@VanGoghsDog how did you find The Inkey List hair product?

Don't think it did anything to be honest. But my hair is falling out in handfuls so assume it has an uphill battle anyway, and maybe it would be worse if I hadn't used it, who knows!

Experiment627 · 27/06/2021 08:10

Sorry to hear that @VanGoghsDog

Hi all, finally finding the time and headspace to post after a slightly stressful few weeks.

@Fispi, congratulations on the new arrival. Hope all is going well.

Attached are many of my empties from recent weeks. I’ll post a couple more pics below with comments on a few products.

AprilLady · 27/06/2021 20:22

Daily concepts body scrubber definitely counting this as an “empty”. I received it as part of a Skinstore GWP and would never otherwise have tried it. It’s a HG product for me. Lathers beautifully, dries quickly, and even comes with its own suction cup to attach to the bathroom wall. I’m also using much less shower gel each time - so products are lasting two to three times longer than before!

Venn all in one concentrate I really rated this, and liked how it simplified the routine. Too expensive to purchase regularly unfortunately.

Estee Lauder eye shadow, this is one of the very few eyeshadows I ever finish. Having tried loads of light colours to use as a base/under brow colour, this is the only shade that works for me.

Prismologie sapphire balm This came in a beauty box, had a beautiful scent and leaves skin hydrated and a bit shiny. A real pre-bedtime treat.

Benefits porefessional primer Had this sitting in my drawer for ages and finally tried it. It’s fantastic for my combination/oily/big pores skin. Will definitely repurchase.

And a few more

Olaplex 3 is a HG product for me. I keep my eye out for deals, GWPs etc and buy then.

Eve Lom cleanser I know was included in so many boxes/calendars that it became decidedly unpopular. I went away over May half term, so took this because it was travel sized. Using it made me remember how good it is, and I’ll be using the rest in my stash in due course.

Luneia Radiance Ritual Mask This is a strong AHA/BHA exfoliating mask, and it is absolutely fantastic. It is quite tingly/stingy when it goes on, and I find out the hard way you should not leave it on more than the stated 15 minutes, but it really does make your skin soft, glowy and smooth. I’ve already repurchased (on eBay, as it’s cheaper).

Prai night cream, thicker and gloopier than I was expecting, possibly because it was out of date? Nothing special though, wouldn’t use again.

Elemis pro collagen marine cream sample used up. Two days use. Have another to use too.

Also a lemon verbena mousse moisturiser. Handmade locally. Smells divine!

clary · 28/06/2021 20:07

Another empty - Lumene Nordic C night moisturiser. Yet another cream from the Lumene Advent calendar, I quite liked this one. Overall I would say that the Nordic C range is one I would RP, love the smell and the lightness of the prducts.

The Lumene AC was a bit samey (lots of moisturisers) but overall I think it was well worth it as there have been some lovely products.
