Beauty chat - freebies/gifts with purchase/offers

I just wondered if anyone would be interested in discussing the beauty gifts with purchase/offers which come about on Cult Beauty, Space NK and the like every few months. I loved the advent calendar threads and thought this might be similar. If there's already a threat on this apologies & I'd appreciate the link! As you can tell I'm a little addicted and find them hard to resist and would love to compare with like minded pp. We could even do swaps if pp want.
I just cracked and bought the recent Cult Beauty 'Self Care' goodie bag - couldn't resist the name as I'm in desperate need of some self care after a rough few months (isn't everyone?!). I haven't opened it yet as haven't had the time with a 6 month old - but can't wait to have a peak. I also forgot what I bought for the £170 required purchase. But think I snuck in a few bit of makeup which isn't like me as I stick to my favourite makeup and usually just buy skincare and body stuff. Anyone else purchase it? What did you think? Be great to get notifications when other sites/retailers have good offers to!

Space NK gwp coming on 1 Sept apparently

@Betsy88 - do you know any more details about the Space NK GWP?

I feel a game of chicken coming on; do I go for the Liberty GWP tomorrow, or wait and see what's in the Space NK GWP, but risk the Liberty gift selling out in the meantime.

And then when the Space NK GWP launches - go for it straightaway, or wait a few days until the advent calendar launches, and buy the calendar to qualify for the GWP (which might sell out in the meantime)?

@RockaLock I'd missed Space NK advent calendar being available that's interesting and I totally agree on GWP chicken!

I looked at liberty but can't justify spending that much with them.

However there is more than one perfume I want from Space NK so I could hit that quite easily!

Does anyone know whether the GWPs are likely to need codes to qualify? Mainly the Space NK one. I get NHS discount in Space NK so if I'd need to use a code for the GWP I might be better off with my discount

For space nk you need to be signed up as an ndulge member (their loyalty scheme) but no code

I can't imagine the Space NK gwp would hang around for long enough to get the calendar as part of the qualifying spend.

I don't think much of the Liberty GWP this time. I bought it every September until a couple of years ago and it was the standout GWP for me. It used to be so good and often had Frederick Malle scent. There doesn't seem to be much there this time.

@Housewife2010, I had the same reaction. It’s definitely disappointing when compared with last year September and the year before. Think last year included a 10ml FM POAL. I’m hoping they’ll reveal their advent calendar contents soon, as I’m tempted to hold out for that instead.

On the plus side, has anyone notice that for once there is NO Margaret Dabbs product!

It's so interesting to hear what people do and don't like in the GWPs!

For me, this is the first Liberty GWP that I've been tempted in for a while.

I didn't like the Frederick Malle perfume in the last GWP that I got.

Some of the GWPs have been chock full of cleansers (boring) and skincare treatments that take me ages to get around to using (I use retinol every night, so have to remember to not use that one day in order to use a peel etc).

Whereas this one seems to have lots of skincare, moisturisers and day serums and stuff that I will actually use. Maybe not the most exciting selection ever, but lots of it is still new to me.

It would be nice to have the bag rather than the wash bag, but tbh I have enough handbags already, so I'd probably rather have the slightly lower qualifying spend and a wash bag.

I'd still like to know what is in the Space NK GWP first, though!

I’m also a bit disappointed with the Liberty GWP - and I’ve been waiting so long for this (well, I probably haven’t, but it seems I’ve been waiting forever 😂). Deffo been selections that have suited me better in the past. Would have loved to see a fragrance and I’m pretty sure I’ve had Diptyque candles in gifts from Liberty in the past too,. Not a lot grabs me in this one, but there are a few bits I’ve held off buying until a gift came along so I might just as well get them now. £300+ of freebies is good to have if you ar3 buying anyway 😊

I had my shopping list ready for Liberty but the contents aren’t doing it for me. Will
be first September one I’ve missed in ages if I stay strong. Pity as I had a tenner loyalty voucher. Think I’ll hold out for space nk. Was looking at the last one they did the full size Sunday Reilly CEO was pretty good.

I need to do a Venn diagram ( think that's the one! ) of all the brands I like and all the beauty websites that do GWPS; as they don't all stock what I like. I think Cult Beauty are the most universal.

Agree and even the lack of Margaret Dabbs won’t tempt me.

I'm so disappointed. There's nothing there that I want or need and I'd rather not clutter my beauty cabinet.

I too will pass for the first time in years. I wish id got the last one now.

I’ve had another look at the Liberty GWP this morning and decided against it. There’s nothing in there I’m particularly excited about and the sizes are tiny. There is a Dr Sebarg cream/serum I’d like to try, but there’s only 5ml of it, which really isn’t enough. Most of the sizes look to be minis or travel, and I’ve got a mountain of those to work through already. So disappointed as I was really looking forward to this gift. Back to using some of my stash and I’ll see what SpaceNK has to offer.
@PomRuns yes, I think multiple advent calendars could definitely be justified now 🤣

I’m a bit disappointed with the Liberty GWP too. I need a face powder, a foundation & I regularly buy Dennis gross acid peel wipes, which I know Space NK sell. I also have a ndulge award to use. So I’m waiting.

Feel Unique have a GWP too. I keep forgetting about this company but it does stock a few of my favourites so I'm currently filling my basket.

I used to compare all GWP's by the fantastic September Liberty one. I always love a scent and some makeup. This one has no scent and only a couple of dull makeup items. Also I have so many Liberty makeup bags now. My first Liberty GWP in 2015 was fantastic. It had a huge makeup bag that I use every time I go away, several full size items and a good size Byredo Gypsy Water.

Got an email from Space NK advertising free gift if you shop with us! Hurrah I thought.

But no, its saying if you spend eg £80 on this brand you get X for free.

I hope this isn't in place of GWP!

Really disappointed in the Liberty GWP. As PP have said, it doesn’t compare well with previous ones. I’ve had 3 before, each of which had a Frederic Malle scent (POAL x 2 and Carnal). I think the first one also had Byredo Ghost. And it prompted my husband to buy me a full-sized POAL. This one just seems so meh in comparison.

Similar to the Liberty calendar, the first one I got had a 15ml of Le Labo Santal 33, but also had 50ml other perfume called Odejo, which I liked. Now, they still do the 15ml le labo perfume but no other perfume, and just fill it with potions which are supposed to be £££.
