Beauty chat - freebies/gifts with purchase/offers

I just wondered if anyone would be interested in discussing the beauty gifts with purchase/offers which come about on Cult Beauty, Space NK and the like every few months. I loved the advent calendar threads and thought this might be similar. If there's already a threat on this apologies & I'd appreciate the link! As you can tell I'm a little addicted and find them hard to resist and would love to compare with like minded pp. We could even do swaps if pp want.
I just cracked and bought the recent Cult Beauty 'Self Care' goodie bag - couldn't resist the name as I'm in desperate need of some self care after a rough few months (isn't everyone?!). I haven't opened it yet as haven't had the time with a 6 month old - but can't wait to have a peak. I also forgot what I bought for the £170 required purchase. But think I snuck in a few bit of makeup which isn't like me as I stick to my favourite makeup and usually just buy skincare and body stuff. Anyone else purchase it? What did you think? Be great to get notifications when other sites/retailers have good offers to!

Not keen on the HN gift. I got one of those plastic rollers in a previous gift maybe space nk and it just made feel a right twassock.

I bought a Liberty gwp earlier in the year and it contained a Queen of Hungary mist. The pump stopped working. I message the brand company and they didn't want to know!! Emailed liberty and they're sending a new one in the post! Fabulous customer service.....

Anyone find that Cult Beauty is really glitchy with promo codes? I have two and neither work - both personal ones to me. Why bother sending them!!
@supadupapupascupa that is great service. I've had many Queen of Hungary mists over the years and each of them has developed a fault with the spray! So annoying. I think it's bcs the spray crystallises in the pump maybe 🤔

Does anyone have any thoughts on when there might be another ‘chunky’ GWP? By ‘chunky’ I probably mean ‘substantial’ as in Liberty, Cult Beauty or Space NK. I’ve a list of stuff to get but I’m absolutely not purchasing anything else from the more lux brands unless I get a sizeable gift to accompany my order 😊
Am I also right in thinking that we are fast-approaching advent calendar season? I’m sure I went on holiday a couple of years back (remember those days? ☹️) and came back at the end of July / early August to find that details of upcoming releases were starting to filter through. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking though 😂

@Giftwithpurchase, with promo codes for me it was FeelUnique I was frustrated by. Their birthday code, 20% off, could only apply to full price goods (fair enough) but the item I wanted had a promo all of it's own, 15% off.

So I shall wait until it's no longer discounted. Not really worth the faff is it?! I mean really not worth it when you look at the £ saved.

Mind you, I think with their summer sales ending there's bound to be an autumn GWP coming ???

Thank you @LizzieMacQueen - I’ve now signed up to the Cult Beauty wait list, but I’m really interested to know what the contents of the individual calendars are going to be. Studying the contents of these things is almost a hobby for me hahahah . I usually go for Liberty but I had Fortnum & Mason a couple of years back and loved it. Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself. It’s early July still so perhaps I just need to be patient. I’m very impatient for a GWP though 😂..........

@Luvacuppatea, I had kind of thought/hoped there would be a Cult Beauty and/or Space NK GWP this month, but both seem to be doing bigger than usual sales at the moment instead.

It’s possible we’ll have to wait for the August/September cycle. In the past I think Liberty have had an early Sept GWP and Harvey Nicks a late September one, if you can wait until then!

In other news, my Next box arrived and I’m really pleased with it. The Elemis cream is the only travel/sample sizes item. It’s excellent value.

@AprilLady - you are probably right about the next GWP cycle not being until August/September. I’m just very impatient haha. I can definitely hold out for a couple more months (looking at my stash I could probably hold out for another 5 years 😳) but I just love reading all about GWP contents, waiting for them arrive and then having a good ‘play’ when the goodies arrive. It’s an addiction I should (probably) try to break, but then I think it’s not doing any harm - except to my bank balance 😂

@LizzieMacQueen that does sound annoying. The 20% really doesn't make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things - it's just so frustrating you can't use the bloody code haha .. hope you managed to use it eventually.

Btw I received an email from Stylist that Bite beauty is now being sold in Boots and Feel Unique. Such a nice brand - reminds me of exciting trips to Sephora in the US back in the day!

I received an email telling me Liberty's advent calendar launches on 6 October. It says at midnight. So I'm not clear if that's midnight from the 5th into the 6th or 6th into the 7th.

No Liberty email here but thanks for the heads up! It's on my calendar x

@supadupapupascupa It was an email from Beauty Calendar not Liberty - I think I'm on some alert list with BC.

I reckon we won't get a big GWP now until the beginning of September.

Just hoping I can eke out my current moisturiser and conditioner until then...

New CB gift looks lovely - worth £355 apparently but agree £170 seems a little high atm .. not sure if I'd use the make up either, especially the rose gold lip gloss haha
Like that it has some different bits in it.
I love glow recipe and would love to try the eye cream .. hmm ..
