Beauty chat - freebies/gifts with purchase/offers

I just wondered if anyone would be interested in discussing the beauty gifts with purchase/offers which come about on Cult Beauty, Space NK and the like every few months. I loved the advent calendar threads and thought this might be similar. If there's already a threat on this apologies & I'd appreciate the link! As you can tell I'm a little addicted and find them hard to resist and would love to compare with like minded pp. We could even do swaps if pp want.
I just cracked and bought the recent Cult Beauty 'Self Care' goodie bag - couldn't resist the name as I'm in desperate need of some self care after a rough few months (isn't everyone?!). I haven't opened it yet as haven't had the time with a 6 month old - but can't wait to have a peak. I also forgot what I bought for the £170 required purchase. But think I snuck in a few bit of makeup which isn't like me as I stick to my favourite makeup and usually just buy skincare and body stuff. Anyone else purchase it? What did you think? Be great to get notifications when other sites/retailers have good offers to!

I didn't get a code and I buy far too much from JL.

It doesn’t work just using the code, I tried it yesterday. You have to add the box with is accessed through your rewards app. Such a faff!

I called the my rewards team at JL to ask about it and he said it's not for all My Rewards members, just a limited pool of people, as there are not very many and to keep an eye out for other offers.

I said thanks but there are a few things I need to order and I thought I'd order from JL if there was a free gift but otherwise I might order elsewhere!

So... if you haven't got the email then you're probably not entitled to it either (not envy) (maybe envy)

Aw, shame. Well that will stop me refreshing my basket then!

I wonder how they decided? I do get a few beauty things from there though I'm probably not a premium customer seeing as I'm always waiting for the price match offers.

Well it could be based on spend but I suppose it could also be random or based on people ordering within a timeline. Who knows?!

I would have gone for it though as I do have 2-3 gifts to buy as well

Handy hint on Liberty - if you get your hair curmt in Taylor Taylor salon on 2nd floor, it counts towards your £175 spend.
My chop was £80 then bought a few shampoos and conditioners, plus a lovely pillow spray from the downstairs beauty room, and I was up to the total easily.
Haul is nice I feel very luxy with all the smells right nowm

@ElderMillennial, Liberty is still in stock, as is Harrods (but very high min spend for Harrods)

@ElderMillennial grrr, that seems so short sighted. I too would have bought my bits from JL to get the gift but I won’t bother now! Not sure singling some customers out for rewards and not others is the wisest business strategy.

I agree and I was bit surprised to be told that so simply on the phone without them trying to keep me happy.

Thanks. Even the Liberty one is more than I was going to spend tbh and reminds me a lot of the stuff I got in advent calendars so I don't think it's worth spending the extra. The JL one sounded like it had more make up in it.

I had no idea it wasn’t for everyone. That’s such a shame, seems silly really.
I don’t think I spend that much on Beauty in John Lewis. I tend to shop around and buy bits everywhere. But maybe they think I do.

I'm mostly a lurker here but as far as I know, I've never bought beauty products from John Lewis before, yet I got the special beauty box email this afternoon. I'm wondering if it's because I had several beauty products in my wish list, so they thought they could entice me to move them over and buy. Just wanted to say that in case someone was desperate for the box, in case that idea might work for you. Don't know if it'll work though!

@westr think you've saved me a few ££ as I was about to buy the hourglass lip but was dithering as I didn't want to spend so much! So thank you

@LilyTheMink oooh thank you for the tip - that is good to know it counts towards the spend - that might actually be a good option for me - get my hair done and keep a bit of a lid on increasing the stash!

The Beauty Advent Calendar site is promising an ASOS hair box tomorrow which includes a full size Olaplex 3 and lots of other things for only £12 - given the olaplex is £26 a bottle I'm pretty sure it'll go quickly!

Ooh I was wondering if I’d missed the ASOS box this month (I’m usually to slow to get one anyway ), good to know I haven’t!

Yes! I just typed ASOS beauty box olaplex or something like that into Google and found it that way. It doesn’t show up on my ASOS app.

Although the only thing I’d get use out of is the olaplex and I have number 6 already so I know the whole box is great value for that product alone but I won’t be worrying about buying it this month.

That made no sense did it?! I meant the texture box obviously, as I have curly hair...

I will check again tomorrow as there are quite a few products for curly hair.

@TheChosenTwo that’s a different/old box I think? Products are different to what’s listed on the Beauty Advent Calendar website.

The box is worth getting for the full size Olaplex 3 alone so imagine they’ll go quickly when they do go on sale. I really want to try Olaplex 8 too - but it’s only a sample size of that in the other box.
