Is this dress nice?

Or has lockdown done something to me?!

I keep looking at this dress! It’s so pretty (if a bit like something my mum might have worn in the 80s). I’d wear it with hiking boots, or knee high tan flat boots, or trainers / sandals in summer.

It’s not my usual style (don’t do floral, never shop in Joules...) and not at all necessary for my current homeschooling and home working indefinitely with regular forays into the snow / frost / mud lifestyle!

Someone tell me it’s horrible, please? Smile

I quite like the print but I don't think it's very flattering. It's making the model look quite thick around the waist and I'm pretty sure she's not.

PLAYJAJADINGDONG · 12/02/2021 15:52

I think it's pretty horrible, sorry OP.

The print is a bad frumpy floral and the cut makes the model look boxy when she quite clearly is not. Very unflattering.

PLAYJAJADINGDONG · 12/02/2021 15:52

(The duck one is even worse.)

ZaraW · 12/02/2021 15:53

I hate it.

RunningFromInsanity · 12/02/2021 15:55

It’s ok but not worth £80.

You can get similar from Primark for £14

Cam2020 · 12/02/2021 15:55

It does absolutely nothing for me. I don't think it's horrible but I don't think it's nice either.

Jellykat · 12/02/2021 16:00

It's too twee, even boots can't balance it out.

Toilenstripes · 12/02/2021 16:03

I like it 🤷‍♀️ You could funky it up a bit with a biker jacket and boots?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/02/2021 16:04

I like the shape but think the colour is a bit insipid and would want some cotton or silk in it for that price, really.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 12/02/2021 16:08

You can find much nicer dresses for £80.

It’s okay, I’m not a fan of that style though.

BaggoMcoys · 12/02/2021 16:11

I don't dislike the pattern but it's not amazing. I don't think the style/cut is very flattering either, I can imagine looking good on quite tall women, but a bit swampy on shorter women.

BaggoMcoys · 12/02/2021 16:14

@PLAYJAJADINGDONG

(The duck one is even worse.)
I prefer the blue colour of the duck one, but something about it reminds me of a nightdress!
Disfordarkchocolate · 12/02/2021 16:14

I love it. I'm definitely a dress lover.

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 12/02/2021 16:16

It's overly sweet without having even the slightest edge. A normal human would have to be quite remarkably stylish not to look drab in it. (Really it's how a formerly cool frock ends up looking after years of relegation to housework duties, minutes before you rip it up for dusters.)

But it's your money, OP. And perhaps you are remarkably stylish.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 12/02/2021 16:17

I'm not familiar with the fabric. If it was a soft/brushed cotton I'd think it would be nice to wear with opaque/wool tights.

But that's more evoking a comfortable feel from childhood.

It's not massively flattering, but it looks pretty comfortable and it's not an awful print.

Depends if you can easily afford &80 or if that's a lot of money to you.

Girlintheframe · 12/02/2021 16:19

I'm not keen on it.

It's kind of meh. No real style to it. It looks very functional and practical though

boredwiththeoldname · 12/02/2021 16:22

It's a no from me.

MangoWeetabix · 12/02/2021 16:22

Frumpy

Plonque · 12/02/2021 16:23

Dress here for anyone who can't click the other link

I thinks it's a bit meh, definitely not something I'd spend £80 on. Like pps have said, plenty nicer for less.

Staffy1 · 12/02/2021 16:25

Ghastly. I can't believe what people are expected to pay for something that looks like a sack, an oversized sack at that.

Paperyfish · 12/02/2021 16:26

I love it and have just brought the duck one. I love ducks and I can breast feed in it. I’ll wear it to death. However, I am neither fashionable, trendy or likely to give a damn what anyone else thinks! If you like it and it’ll make you happy then go for it!

Whyistheteacold · 12/02/2021 16:27

@RunningFromInsanity

It’s ok but not worth £80.

You can get similar from Primark for £14

Definitely. It's very overpriced for a basic floral dress
BorisandHarriet · 12/02/2021 16:29

I like dresses but not that one.
