SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

Ah the top looked lovely online. Shame about the dress, but at least it's an easy decision!

QueenCremant · 05/06/2021 00:03

@limesoda still undecided about the dress. Glad the bash too was good.

Just been out out to a restaurant followed by a pub. Both me and my friend had a girl crush on our waitress. She was about mid 40s (I reckon!), wearing just really simple things-a blouse, black skinnies and trainers, had lovely silver jewellery and hair up in clips but we both wanted to dress like her. She had that effortless look about her.
I wore a baukjen blouse and jeans and was so nice people watching. There were a lot of dresses/denim jackets/trainer combos (I sniggered to myself thinking of the thread in s&b) and a woman in a beige trouser suit, tan heels and a tan mulberry which all sounds hideous but she exuded elegance.

TortoiseShed · 05/06/2021 10:23

Love the people watching report!

When I went out last weekend (pre-isolation for ds Hmm...good times!), I saw a lot of crop tops and high waist jeans. I tend to see the dresses, white trainers and denim jackets on the school run and in the daytime round here. Will venture out today and see what I can see.

limesoda · 05/06/2021 11:51

@QueenCremant that effortless look is my favourite. I used to think I couldn't pull it off, but it turns out I was just wearing jeans that didn't fit me properly.

Report on the ba&sh top is that it is going back. It looks incredible, but is a little bit tight round the cuffs of the arms and they started to annoy me as I was doing my makeup this morning. Ba&sh now on my list of retailers I like the idea of, but in reality everything I have tried from there has been sent back.

TortoiseShed · 05/06/2021 14:06

Oh no, that's such a shame Sad. I think it's going to have to be a brand I just admire from afar too tbh! Ah well.

Loved @DryWhiteagainW's links for dresses for events the other day. Again, I have to admire those from afar as I don't have anything swanky enough for those in the near future and obviously pricey, especially to just have them sit unworn in my wardrobe. But a girl can dream!

I've bought a couple of bits. A slip skirt from French Connection, a metallic clutch from Oliver Bonas and a houdstooth jacket from Gant. Will find links. Feel like they'll fit in with the rest of my wardrobe really well, as long as they fit.

DryWhiteagainW · 05/06/2021 23:28

Tortoise you do realise I was fantasy shopping Grin

TortoiseShed · 06/06/2021 07:37

Oh yes! I did realise and you did say you wouldn't buy them Smile. They are stunning dresses though.

QueenCremant · 06/06/2021 12:20

QueenCremant · 06/06/2021 21:03

TortoiseShed · 06/06/2021 21:14

Grin a technicolour dream coat!!

Themarvellousmrsm · 06/06/2021 21:50

Oh Queen how I've missed your links-they're all fabulous

Those orange leggings will apparently 'bring a summery sensibility to every look' -not entirely sure 'sensibility' is the word they were looking for Grin

The yellow dress is lovely and am also rather drawn to the dream coat. There is a little old lady I know who crochets for the fun of it, I might have a word........

Anyway, had my eye on a pair of trainers but when went to order were oos, v frustrating. Am not going to link just yet as may reappear.

Was it you Stokey who purchased the bracelets? I'm very tempted, there are some really nice collection on that website.

A bit of socialising this weekend, grim weather on Friday put paid to a floaty dress & sandals so wore whistles barrel leg jeans, orange Anthropology blouse and stans didn't want to get A&G trainers wet

Today for a bbq wore wide leg navy linen trousers from Atterley (very old), H&M navy stripe s/s jumper and bronze Birkenstock's Not massively fashion forward but in my defence, was crawling around the garden with little, very grubby dgc's!

DryWhiteagainW · 06/06/2021 22:18

Good news or bad news?

Ok, I always start with bad news.

Hit the gym.......great to back on a spinning bike and do some weight.......but I’m having difficulty walking Sad

Very exciting news.....I’ve been invited to a race meet where I get to dress up and wear head gear ....yipeeeeeeeee

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 06/06/2021 22:39

ohhhhhh dry when is it?! do you knwo what youll wear or will you buy something new? exciting times!

went out for sunday lunch today, pretty casual as is my life in general ha. Wore a black velvet dress with burnout pattern of roses and bats on it, high necked short sleeved and above knee with black tights and black dr marten boots. also wore a black denim jacket that has a giant sequin sugar skull ont he back of it Grin you know how me that is Grin

I do, hopefully, have an excuse to dress up soon though as if restrictions lift as planned ill be goign to a wedding and i dont think blacket velvet will cut it tbh. I could wear my navy michael kors dress or i have a blue with pink roses wide skirted shirt dress but soemhow i feel the michael kors dress is dressier and more wedding suitable especialyl for the evening? i have no idea what shoes though as i dont have any heels and everything i currently own is either conversde or dr martens so i will probably have to buy some shoes no matter what dress i decide on! i think i could be tempted by a small heel as i wont be drunk or anything so even though im always a fall risk, ill be less of one if im not drinking beyond the toast

Stokey · 08/06/2021 12:39

Yes @Themarvellousmrsm, I got this

I need help - any tips for getting oil out? I was spraying DD2 with sun tan oil this morning when it splattered back over my brand new green Whistles dress - I'd been wearing it for less than an hour. I rinsed it and sprayed Vanish on it but doesn't seem to have gone. Am soaking it now in hot water with more Vanish but not holding out much hope

JaneJeffer · 08/06/2021 12:43

@Stokey rub a drop of fairy liquid into the stain, leave for a few minutes then wash it.

SummaLuvin · 08/06/2021 16:08

@QueenCremant that yellow dress is stunning!

I returned 5 pairs of jeans to ASOS today. My eye has really changed and I'm just not liking the look of skinny jeans anymore, 6 months ago I was still in love. I have a two pairs of more straight leg/mom jeans which I've been living in, but still on the hunt for my perfect pair. This is the absolute worst thing about skinny jeans going out, I have the ultimate mission impossible of finding the perfect jeans.
