SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

@CarolineBingley you definitely have to buy those!

limesoda · 02/06/2021 22:31

@TortoiseShed was it you who was looking at this dress Ba&Sh have a sale on! My order just gone in, I hope some of it can stay because I adore their clothes.

Some fabbity fab outfits for the first nights out and it is making me SO happy to see! We stayed in a hotel in our own city this weekend, and it was such a treat to get away from the house. Will check back properly tomorrow x

limesoda · 02/06/2021 22:32

(I am also obsessing over the Chloe flats. @QueenCremant has a few of us swayed)

QueenCremant · 02/06/2021 22:39

Got this dress delivered today. I really like it but can’t decide whether it makes me look fat. Feeling particularly bloated at moment after a blow out at the weekend so will try it on again in a few days and decide.

TortoiseShed · 02/06/2021 22:42

Yes, that was me @limesoda! I still love that dress so much. Couldn't get away with anything that snug over the hip and lower abs area due to c section tum, but it is just so lovely.

What have you bought lime?

CarolineBingley · 02/06/2021 22:58

That dress is nice @TortoiseShed and @limesoda but it would just ride up the arse that's emerging out of lockdown

@QueenCremant aaargh I bought the glitter shoes. They're on the Chloé website at 40% discount (don't know why but I bought them fast before the discount could disappear!!). For 40% off I am prepared to wait about 2 weeks while they wing their way from Italy to me! I am all ready to point to you if/when Dh notices them on the cc statement!

The navy dress, I like it but as your friend I am just going to rewind the tape a bit........didn't you say a few weeks ago that you were trying to break out of your navy comfort zone. Umm it's navy?Grin

TortoiseShed · 02/06/2021 23:06

Oh I'm really glad you bought the sparkly shoes @CarolineBingley! They are great.

QueenCremant · 03/06/2021 07:01

@CarolineBingley I know, I know.....I’m just drawn to navy like you’re drawn to sparkle Grin

CarolineBingley · 03/06/2021 08:53

@QueenCremant lolGrin

In my very feeble defence....Post pandemic sensible me did actually check my wardrobe to see whether I have glittery ballet flats before I bought. I have other glittery shoes but not flats so I figured I was okayWink.

Stokey · 03/06/2021 12:49

I think that dress would suit you QueenC. And that Chloe bag is gorgeous @CarolineBingley, hope you're recovering well.

I'm not sure about the Ba&sh stuff, it looks a bit poly, which is a no no for me now I'm entering the world of hot flushes!

How gorgeous is this weather? Got back from the countryside yesterday to find a boho midi that I'd ordered from Thailand had arrived. The link is just her insta page as she gets loads of different patterns in, but I've got a black gingham with red embroidery. Wearing it today and have just had to move into the shade. Also ordered a few stacking bangles from Boho Betty, I just need a beach now....

limesoda · 03/06/2021 17:35

Yeah @Stokey I see what you mean about poly. I just can't find anybody who makes clothes that suit my shape and colouring that don't use the wretched stuff. I'm trying to wear more jeans and tops to give me a few more options, but those mid range French brands suit me so well, and seem to be poly central.

I got this dress and this top. I factor returns into the cost of things, so the top will have to be incredible to be worth that money. The dress is in a shape that really suits, and I can't do ditsy florals so I hope this one works for me. I was also heartbroken to send back a dress from there a couple of months ago but it was mini length and we just don't get the weather here to reliably get the legs out. There is a reason midis are so popular. Email to say its been dispatched, hurrah!

I like the dress @QueenCremant but am a big believer in 'if you don't love it, it should go back' school of thought. And looking forward to a Chloe reveal, if I'd seen them at 40% off, I might accidentally have bought some myself...

CarolineBingley · 03/06/2021 18:44

@stokey your description is making me want to be on a beach so baaad!

@limesoda that top is amazing. It looks like nothing special on its own but so flattering on the model. I hope they both suit you - I hate having to deal with returns!

Hunting through my wardrobe, I met a whole load of shoes and bags I haven’t used for over a year. So today’s outfit for running around in is a French Connection t-shirt that’s about 20 years old with Karen Millen khaki shorts that are about 15 years old (and a summer staple for me) with these Chloé lace up suede ballet shoes which I bought a couple of years ago. Bag of the day was this Russell & Bromley light blue laser cut tote. I wasn’t able to wear/use most of my clothes, bags and shoes 2019/2020 (I won’t go into why) so I am really going to enjoy rediscovering large chunks of my wardrobe this summer after what feels like a long hiatus. Is anyone feeling the same or are you looking forward to moving on to new things?Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 03/06/2021 18:54

CarolineB “ That dress is nice @TortoiseShed and @limesoda but it would just ride up the arse that's emerging out of lockdown” made me Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 03/06/2021 18:56

Ootd:
top
With Gap girlfriend cropped dark wash jean
Animal print pointy flat (what else? An old fav of mine)
Massimo Dutti tan leather biker
Tan Mulberry bag

DryWhiteagainW · 03/06/2021 18:59

limesoda I’m the same. Hate poly but buy it because it’s so hard to find stuff made out of natural fibres. I won’t EVER buy acrylic though, it’s beyond awful

DryWhiteagainW · 03/06/2021 19:02

If I had a “do” (which I do) and an empty wardrobe (which I don’t ...way too many dresses) I’d buy
this beauty

DryWhiteagainW · 03/06/2021 19:05

One of these

DryWhiteagainW · 03/06/2021 19:06

this my colour

DryWhiteagainW · 03/06/2021 19:11

Just sorting shoes Grin

CarolineBingley · 03/06/2021 20:16

That Oasis top is gorgeous @DryWhiteagainW! And love the black dress, that's stunning.

DryWhiteagainW · 03/06/2021 22:38

Also bought it in white CarolineB (you know I bulk buy) which I ripped on its first wear...bloody door handle caught one of the big holes!!!!!

Stokey · 04/06/2021 07:46

Can totally picture you in the Herve Leger Dry

Apparently it's raining today, am in denial!

DryWhiteagainW · 04/06/2021 08:54

Get on a train and come and sit in my garden Stokey

CarolineBingley · 04/06/2021 09:58

Ugh what a difference a day makes! It’s pouring here @Stokey!

Am on the way to London for another medical appointment. When I went 2 days ago it was shorts and vest. Today I am wearing my black Rains coat. Perfect for a day like this.as it’s very lightweight. I think it was @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping who recommended it a few years ago.

limesoda · 04/06/2021 16:43

Well the ba&sh top is so very flattering that it is staying for sure. The dress is so hideously aging, I'm printing out my returns label right this very second 😂
