SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

@TortoiseShed

My Sezane dress arrives today and I'm unreasonably excited Queen!! Glad you MADE me do that Wink

Re what I'm wearing; black lace up, ankle boots, (ancient), black tights, sage green, tiered mini skirt (recent purchase from ASOS), black sweatshirt (ancient) and a pendant which I got this week in Oliver Bonas.

OOTD sounds lovely! Dying to know how the Sezane dress is! I adore their stuff, but have never purchased. I'm covering some blush pink suede clog sandals from them but they're sold out in my size. I'm always a bit nervous to order things online from overseas in case i need to return or exchange.

I'm sure there used to be a Sezane boutique in Selfridges. I searched on their website for the brand but nothing came up. Do they no longer carry it?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/05/2021 14:14

would you believe queen that Ds is 17, yes SEVENTEEN now!! hes got his bike license and a little scooter to get him about and hes at college doing a btech in mechanical engineering!! cant believe it tbh, i swear in my head im not old enough to have a child doing all those things!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/05/2021 15:05

@WineGetsMeThroughIt Don't know about Selfridges but I think there is a Sezane boutique in Notting Hill?

TortoiseShed · 26/05/2021 15:09

Being brave and sharing a pic of myself in new Sezane dress. You have to bear in mind that in battling with my weight a bit at the moment and not at my best figure wise. With that in mind, I think this is making me look and feel pretty great!

Ignore pendant which I don't think really goes very well.

TortoiseShed · 26/05/2021 15:11

I think maybe some decent heels and maybe some spanx will help too.

Stokey · 26/05/2021 15:11

Nice OOTD all but how bad is the styling on the Zara website for Blair's dress, as ever.

Interesting lipstick discussion QueenC, I feel a bit weird wearing bright lipsticks now, but did go for a red the other night and it made me feel like I was going out. Did anyone read Sali Hughes piece about going grey in Vogue? Thought it was interesting how she'd changed her lippy from a red to a paler one.

I've got a Whistles Brand Alley parcel to open. No idea what is in it as I ordered it over a month ago so will report back any good finds!

MarshaBradyo · 26/05/2021 15:12

You look great Tortoise really love it on you. Great buy, so pleased you love it

QueenC not really as I’m wfh with school pick ups, no point! Unless meeting someone, then still only mascara / maybe eyeliner

Welcome back One

Stokey · 26/05/2021 15:13

Cross posted @TortoiseShed. Looks great and you definitely don't look overweight in the picture so it's flattering!

Stokey · 26/05/2021 15:15

Oh and hello One! Wow a nearly adult child!

TortoiseShed · 26/05/2021 15:20

Thank you!

Yes, it is flattering I think. Good for those large of hip and boob as the waistband is quite neat but roomy elsewhere. Really pleased with it, so thanks @QueenCremant Grin

shopafrolic · 26/05/2021 15:39

Hey @OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack good to 'see' you
So many pages filled that I haven't had a chance to click all the links but it was good to see you back with Sunday links @QueenCremant.
Another Freya bra lover here - loved the boob dunking idea Hmm
I ordered 3 pairs of Rag & Bone jeans from the Outnet - takes so long to arrive nowadays, had to send them all back - really struggling with denim ATM.
So my most exciting purchase has been a Rains raincoat Grin (I think @Stokey you have one?) Coat here in green Actually surprisingly pleased with it. The green looks good with that bright fuchsia pink I like to wear so hopefully I can feel a bit more stylish when out walking.
Which reminds me - I am a little bit obsessed with these boots in snakeskin. If I was still a festival goer I would be all over them. I fear I may look as though I'm having a midlife crisis if I get them but I think they are such a brill idea. I heard about them on Davina & Michael's Making the Cut podcast. Well worth a listen for random product, TV and brand recommendations. I've been listening on my 7k walk each day.
Let me know what you think of the boots or have I officially lost it?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/05/2021 15:51

Haha @Stokey yes, more like total lack of any styling! Hmm Grin

@TortoiseShed the dress looks great :)

@shopafrolic I've got 2 Rains coats, they are fab and you won't regret it. I actually really like the idea of the boots, we can have stylish rain coats, so why not stylish rain boots?!

FairyApple · 26/05/2021 16:28

@TortoiseShed your dress is gorgeous.

@shopafrolic those boots are cool

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 26/05/2021 16:44

@TortoiseShed beautiful dress!

I'm covering these gorgeous blush pink clog sandals from Sezane but sadly they're sold out in my size. I spoke with their live chat and she confirmed that they closed their London concession in Selfridges last year in case anyone else was wondering.

*coveting 🤦🏼‍♀️

shopafrolic · 26/05/2021 17:06

Which styles have you got @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping? I quite liked the parka - took me a while to decide....

limesoda · 26/05/2021 17:06

Love the dress @TortoiseShed and those clogs are good too @WineGetsMeThroughIt

My hairdresser dyed my hair silvery grey last Summer and I love it because it allows me to wear bright lipstick. I have quite pink undertones and the silver enhances my cool colouring so I can get away with stuff that would just have highlighted the pink before. I adore it and its high maintenance ways.

These jeans arrived today as a cheap stop gap. As I said upthread I've lost weight but have impending IVF so I don't want to spend big but all my clothes are too large and these are FAB. They have finally lured me away from my skinnies, as well.

This top arrived as well and I really like it but it needs ironed so I can see if I love it. I'm out for dinner tonight with friends, and I'm definitely wearing the new jeans. If I put on the new t-shirt its staying, it I end up in an ancient reiss faithful black number, I'll return. Blush pointed flats and all saints leather biker probably finishing the look. Maybe even some red lipstick, lolz.

Karcheer · 26/05/2021 17:12

@limesoda you'll need lots of loose fitting things for IVF, I lived in Jersey dresses. My tummy became very sore and bruised (black).

limesoda · 26/05/2021 17:17

@karcheer oh thanks for emphasising the loose. I'm on a really aggressive protocol so imagine a LOT of swelling, but didn't even consider all the bruising and actual pain. My stomach is already a sea of bruises thanks to using an insulin pump, nice to be prepared for it to get even more colourful. I'm really hoping I don't still have to wear tights in sodding August, but anything possible in Northern Ireland...

shopafrolic · 26/05/2021 17:34

@limesoda is your hair long or short?
Thanks for the link to the Sale Hughes article @Stokey I have. no regrets about growing mine out and the colour is quite a good steel grey (glad to see Sali recommended a shampoo that I already use). I do wonder about growing it longer again and letting the curl come back. Worries I am stereotypical short grey hair nearly fifty woman.......

OP posts:
Karcheer · 26/05/2021 17:36

@Limesoda the clinic we used in London required us to have internal scans at least every other day and I found dresses easier for that as well, as I could just pull them up rather than having to faff about taking trousers/jeans off and on.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/05/2021 18:41

@shopafrolic your hair looks fab grey, suits you so well especially with the colours you wear. The Rains coats I have are the belted thin style in navy and the long puffer in black. A waterproof puffer was a huge game changer this winter!

Stokey · 26/05/2021 19:01

I don't Shop but really weirdly I've been thinking of getting this one which may be exactly the same, but I can't tell as I'm being distracted by the model who looks like she's about to kill someone. I adore the festival boots too but don't think I can cope with that number of people this year. Also love the Sezanne clogs @WineGetsMeThroughIt.

Interesting on the silver hair @limesoda. Were you greying anyway? I think I would be very grey if I didn't dye but don't feel ready to take the plunge.

DryWhiteagainW · 26/05/2021 19:03

Full slap on everyday QueenC !!!!

shopafrolic · 26/05/2021 20:12

Yeah that’s the same one @stokey. The models are savage aren’t they? I bought mine from Selfridges as I have free delivery.
@QueenCremant I reckon I’m wearing make up 2 out of 7 days. Basically I can’t be bothered for dog walking and housework and on the school run we have to wear masks..... The Skin&Me means I am happier going bare faced too.
