SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

Those espadrilles are fab.

I've always resisted buying them, because in my head they should cost a few euro from a holiday supermarket. Then they are a bit crap and uncomfortable and I wonder why they don't really work with what I'm wearing.

Love that Whistles dress @QueenCremant linked earlier. I was lusting over this one for ages, but it seemed like a lot of money for a flimsy dress. Looking back I'm pleased I resisted, because I actually think the print is a bit too ditsy for me.

I really hope all the sick children have perked up a bit.

Karcheer · 24/05/2021 10:51

Ooo they are lovely. I got these the other day. I'm yet to wear them obviously... @limesoda i'm the same, ive put off buying these for years as I remember the straps killing on cheapies from Spain... I hope I get on with them.

i'm going to sort out my knicker drawer today, so i got 5 pairs of CK bikini's and 5 thongs all in black as replacements.

I also got this in cream, thought it would be nice with Jeans.

Stokey · 24/05/2021 10:57

I tend to buy Whistles in the sale. I like the shape of the dress, but not sold on the print either.

Yes hope miniShop & miniMarsha are feeling better.

I had my weigh-in day today and have lost 8lbs in a month doing low carb diet so am pleased with that. I'm wearing a Hush shirt dress that the last time I tried it on, the buttons kept popping open, but now they're behaving themselves.

I'm aiming for another 5-7lbs to be back near my target weight.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/05/2021 11:40

@QueenCremant unfortunately always been that way... I do have naturally dry eyes and am an eye drop addict, so maybe it's to do with that? I don't have to wear masks that much thankfully, I really feel for you with having to wear one so much.

Well done on the weight loss @Stokey. I am well and truly off the low carb wagon, although I did manage to give up sugar for a whole month earlier in the year.

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2021 14:16

Well done Stokey! I seem to have been doing low carb for so long my body is too used to it. Lockdown hasn’t been too bad physically, but could lose a bit I reckon.

I never got on with contacts as a teen, getting a speck would make whole half face feel hot and painful

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2021 14:17

Having a quick browse of private sale Matches and love this

Sold out though

Erdem dress

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2021 14:19

Karcheer great espadrilles, I have a few of that brand high and low

LimeSoda lovely Whistles dress

Thanks for good wishes, dd seems better today. Ds went on PGL for a week. Can’t believe it, I found their curtailment during lockdown hard and so pleased to see him excited and going away and on a ferry too

DryWhiteagainW · 24/05/2021 19:59

Love Erdem dresses Marsha

Tortoise that’s what happens on here.....you get sucked in, tempted and enabled......I’ve seen it/done it many times Grin

So.....I have a prob with espadrilles. Love love them but (very un Vogue).....in the summer (when it’s sunny obv) I fake tan legs and I’ve noticed that the laces round the ankle rub the tan off Shock .....

TortoiseShed · 24/05/2021 20:07

Grin DryWhite, oh well. I'm a bit in love with the dress in question, especially the print, so definitely don't object to being enabled here!

Do you want to see?

DryWhiteagainW · 24/05/2021 20:14

Shall I introduce myself to the new friends....

Hi I’m Dry.
I’m past 50 but keep forgetting how old I am because the birthdays come round so quickly.

I’m 5ft 3 (nearly) and hourglass shaped. I like my waist. Hate my arse and short (stumpy) legs. As a result I favour tailored clothes, dresses are my favourite. Anything nipped in and fitted on top. Love belts.
I’d say I’m very matchy, classic, groomed. In my head I look like Julianne Moore but sadly I’m nothing like her (similar colouring).
In my head I lead a very glam life in dresses and heels and full make up.....I’m always drawn to occasion wear, I’m always overdressed. Occasionally on here some Voguettes have freaked out about impending dos.....I freak out at smart/casual Grin although I’ve embraced leisure wear over lockdown (even bought JOGGERS!!!!)
I think I’m an autumn but don’t restrict myself to those colours.

So basically I’ve totally lost a grip on reality but am very happy in my Joan Collins world Grin.....my 2 lockdown claims are that in the first 100 days I only had 2 without alcohol and I never had a day without make up!!!

DryWhiteagainW · 24/05/2021 20:15

Lovely Tortoise but order it NOW because you’ve linked it and those stealth lurkers will buy them all

DryWhiteagainW · 24/05/2021 20:16

TortoiseShed · 24/05/2021 20:17

I've already ordered! Learnt my lesson after Gucci-gate Wink

Now panicking I've ordered the wrong size though of course. Ah online shopping! I love / hate it.

DryWhiteagainW · 24/05/2021 20:18

Oh I also like broderie anglaise and a bit of occasional frill

MissKittyKitty · 25/05/2021 07:27

Love Gucci gate

@MarshaBradyo and @shopafrolic hope your dc are working up.

Loving all the dress links,

I bought these pink Castañer last January in the sale and they haven't been worn. I'm starting to doubt if I'll wear them this year.

Here's the last of my M&S spree www.marksandspencer.com/denim-kimono-jacket/p/clp60442097?color=MEDIUMINDIGO&prevPage=srp can't do clicks clink. Black jacket it has a 90s vibe and looks more expensive than it is. I wear it with white jeans.

@Stokey well done on the weight loss. I feel I'm losing the battle of the bulge. I need to get back into the zone.

Karcheer · 25/05/2021 08:31

I'm onto sorting out my bra drawers today...

I've a few very elderly (at least 20 years old) La Perla bra's that are beautiful but need to go. I've been holding onto them for a long time but they really are just taking up space. Plus some ohers that just no longer fit. And some old faithfuls that are way to comfy to be holding anything up any longer haha!
There is a charity that takes old bras isn't there - does anyone know who it is?

I'll need to get some new bra's I really miss having a size where I could wear gorgeous brands. I've been stuck in my very boring Bravissimo Satin for so long now, I miss the lace and glamour :(
Anyone recommend any nice brands for small backs and big cup? - I've always thought it odd that choices are so limited being that so many tiny glam women have boob jobs...

limesoda · 25/05/2021 08:34

@karcheer look at attollo lingerie. Sooooo pretty for the big cup small band brigade. The pants are amazing too.

TortoiseShed · 25/05/2021 08:35

I can't recommend anything, but would also love to know where I can buy beautiful bras for small back and big cups! I did get one recently from Bravissimo, which was a bralette designed for bigger boobs and still low cut enough to wear under v necks. I'll find the brand as I think it's still pretty, but also functional.

TortoiseShed · 25/05/2021 09:18

Thanks Deus. Will check that out.

Stokey · 25/05/2021 13:04

@Karcheer the bras charity is called Smalls for All, I just sent a load off.

Another small backed, big boobed lady here. I like Freya bras, they fit me well generally and can get them from various places.

I tried Rigby & Peller before I got married but they didn't go below 30 back. The measuring process there is hilarious. They get you down on all fours like a cow.
