SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

Big wave to the lurkers. When I Kitty first linked the Gucci dress, there was plenty in stock at all sizes. When I finally got round to buying, I couldn't buy the 36, as it sold out just as I was buying it, and it's now sold out in 36,38 and 42. I managed to get the last 36. If you bought the dress too, please delurk and tell us what you think of it?Grin

I didn't dither with the coat, I got that first!

Ha! The power of MN.

Tried on my Monki bits and pieces. I'd ordered a dress, jumpsuit, coat and mules. Thought after I'd ordered that I didn't like the look of the mules. Tried it all on and in what can only be described as a shocking plot twist, the mules are not the ones I remembered ordering and they are so much nicer than I thought. But they're too small, fgs. Everything else is too big (boo), because I must have lost some weight (yay). Anyway, it's all going back.

Shop how is DS?

He’s ok. Eaten something this eve so early night despite not going to school tomorrow. Just really bad timing. Irony is he didn’t want to stay over, changed his mind, the Mum called and said he’s welcome to stay as long as you think he won’t want to come home later. So I take a sleeping bag over, have a “if you’re staying you’re staying” chat. And then got a call at 11.15 saying he’d thrown up twice and could I come and get him. Mortified. And assessments this week.

Nightmare

We had a night with dd on Friday

Howling all night, high temp and rang 111. Ear infection but the amazing thing was 24 GP access! We had four calls coming in and then seen within the hour. Was so impressed.

Huge welcome to everyone new. I really want to do a proper post looking at links. Just need some time dc free to give it right attention!

QueenCremant · 23/05/2021 19:15

Wtf is going on with this weather? Sunny yesterday and thought we’d turned a corner but it’s like a fucking monsoon now. The forecast at least looks drier this week.

Glad you all like the links. summa love the prints on that brand (can’t remember the name) you linked.

mrsm I wear hourglass mascara which I really like.

Talking of mascara, I’m about to start wearing contacts. Do I need special mascara??

DeusEx · 23/05/2021 19:30

Never had a problem with any mascara with lenses @QueenCremant. But remember to put lenses in BEFORE doing mascara!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/05/2021 20:13

@QueenCremant long time contacts wearer here, I do wear tubing mascara (the one that slides off with hot water) to minimise flaking as it is a nightmare if anything gets into the eyes. I can’t wear eyeshadow either, my eyes feel permanently irritated. But I’m not 100% sure that’s to do with the contacts if I’m honest - you’ll just have to see how you get on.

@Themarvellousmrsm he is 3 in the summer 🥺!

DryWhiteagainW · 23/05/2021 20:32

Talking about the weather , my lovely new rattan Corner sofa has arrived at last.....so glad we have the weather for it Angry

Themarvellousmrsm · 23/05/2021 20:57

Thanks for the mascara recommendations, will have a look tomorrow as popping to JL so will swing by Boots as well - their website is down atm.

Gosh Blair can't believe he's 3 already!

Marsha hope dd is on the mend.

CarolineBingley · 23/05/2021 21:15

@MarshaBradyo, I hope your dd has recovered!

Oh wow @BlairWaldorfLovesShopping can't believe it's 3 years ago that we were on bump watch!!

@QueenCremant I am the same as @DeusEx, I don't have any issues. Always lenses on first then eyeshadows, eyeliner and mascara (sometimes cheap as chips, sometimes posh ones) and I have had no problems at all.

QueenCremant · 23/05/2021 21:25

Thanks for the contacts advice! I’m just in my trial period at the moment so have only worn them twice. Please tell me it gets easier to get them in Hmm

SummaLuvin · 23/05/2021 21:34

I find getting them out harder than putting them in! What is your technique? I balance the contact on my index finger ready to pop in, pull down my lower lid with my middle finger of the same hand, then using my other hand pull up my upper eyelid. Fingers need to be dry to prevent slipping.

QueenCremant · 23/05/2021 22:11

summa I’m not sure I’ve got a technique yet! I was taught to put the lens on my middle finger but will try the index finger next time.
@BlairWaldorfLovesShopping have your eyes always been irritated or is it since covid? Wearing a mask really irritates mine. I couldn’t work out why they were so red and puffy until I read about mask associated dry eyes. Since using hydrating eye drops my eyes are completely normal again.

QueenCremant · 23/05/2021 22:16

Just having a quick browse before going to bed...
lovely whistles dress. I’d be tempted if a, it wasn’t so expensive and b, the weather wasn’t so awful.

QueenCremant · 23/05/2021 22:25

Love this dress too

QueenCremant · 23/05/2021 22:40

Would you suit my boobs but love this

QueenCremant · 23/05/2021 22:41

lush espadrilles

TortoiseShed · 23/05/2021 22:50

God damn it @QueenCremant, I looked at those lovely espadrilles and then accidentally bought a dress from Sezane. I do have a couple of events coming up, so I think I can justify it!

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 23/05/2021 22:55

@QueenCremant

Oh these are gorgeous!!! Love them in the Ecru 😍

CarolineBingley · 24/05/2021 08:11

Those espadrilles are gorgeous! I remember going on a buying spree of espadrilles a few years ago. I think I own 4Blush. All these links over the weekend have made me all excited about delving back into my wardrobe!

TortoiseShed · 24/05/2021 08:23

I love espadrilles too. It's so annoying we haven't got the weather for summer shoes, as I love summer shoes in general.
