SO the last 'edition' took over a year to complete. Must try harder Voguettes. Despite the fact that we are still in lockdown, and rarely out of loungewear, there is still inspiration to be found. Spring is springing, brighter days are on the horizon and homeschooling CANNOT last forever (not if miniShop wants to live anyway).
So join us for style & beauty chat, and other inspiration as we navigate our way as stylishly as possible through lockdown 3.

@CarolineBingley you know Burberry fits and suits you. Don’t fix what isn’t broken

Ooh profound!!Grin And spot on!

Your Gianvito Rossi link (adore his shoes) made me swoon over these sandals. I could imagine wearing them with a top and white trousers out for dinner on holiday somewhere hot and sunny.

Love the Oscar de la Renta for Mara

CarolineBingley · 23/05/2021 10:03

They do a shirt dress version too. It's so Mara.

MarshaBradyo · 23/05/2021 10:05

Oh I love that shape.

Karcheer · 23/05/2021 10:08

@CarolineBingley - I agree with @QueenCremant. Also Burberry do coats/jackets so well... and it's not as if you'll be wearing them all at the same time.

I love the Sunday edits @QueenCremant - I think the knickers would look great with the furry slippers.

I've really lost my way with clothes, I literally look at my wardrobe each morning and think urgh what on earth am I going to wear :(
I put on at least a dress size over look down - which is proving harder to get off than put on.
I also literally don't know who I am anymore.

I'm thinking of using Cleo Lacey (@Demicouturestylist insta) - to come and chuck out everything detox in my wardrobe and then take me on a shopping day. Anyone used her or anyone similar?

Karcheer · 23/05/2021 10:10

It's all very Dolce and Gabbana isn't it.
SummaLuvin · 23/05/2021 10:25

That Oscar de le Renta is stunning. Reminds me of a dress a fashion blogger I follow has worn. Anyone know if this is Oscar de le Renta too? Not that I could afford it anyway...

Love the links Queen had forgotten we have the same taste in shoes!

Ordered a couple of MV bits this morning blue wrap top and of course I need another black top.

Expectations are low, everything I've ordered online recently has gone back. Hoping to have time to go real shopping after half term.

no it's DolceAndGabbana
SummaLuvin · 23/05/2021 10:37

Damn. Wouldn’t be able to afford it anyway, but I definitely don’t want to be lining the pockets of the racists running D&G. Shame they make such beautiful clothes.

limesoda · 23/05/2021 11:18

Those rossi flats are the answer to my current shoe dilemmas @QueenCremant but so out of budget. I really want some ballet flats or loafers or something but they need to have a bit of snazz and even a little sole because I walk lots. The holy grail for sure.

All the Kondo regret is making me laugh. I don't regret it as such, but as things get a bit worn and need moved on, the gap left in my wardrobe is MASSIVE and I haven't quite figured out what to fill it with yet. Still, looking is fun, right?

Also loving all the chats of going out and meeting up with people. I spent my Saturday in the mountains so wearing ugly technical clothing, but had that low key put together feeling last night for a glass of wine with a mate in an oversized navy shirt from mint velvet, grey skinnies and red lipstick. Converse were fine but the rossi flat would have been SO much nicer, or maybe something with a pointed toe.

TortoiseShed · 23/05/2021 11:29

I love the hooded coat @CarolineBingley.

Two really close friends used to work for Burberry in London and they got an amazing discount. I stupidly never took advantage of that, as they offered a few times, but I couldn't justify the outlay. Kicking myself now. Don't be like me! The only thing worse than Kondo Regret is missing out on a beautiful coat regret Wink

Stokey · 23/05/2021 11:29

I haven't used someone like that @Karcheer. The last year or so has made it incredibly hard to focus on your style and even more so with weight gain. I've also put on weight during lockdown and am now trying really hard to stick to a low carb diet to lose it. But it has helped buying a few bits in a size bigger just so I have things I like to wear and am not just obsessing about getting into my old clothes. IIRC you're quite petite with a classic, tailored style, and I do think that makes weight gain even more unforgiving. No quick fixes but maybe just think of a few items you'd really like to replace. I think you were a bit down about your style a few years ago too. Do you feel like you got it back then or has this loss been since then? It is hard when all you're doing is hanging out at home to motivate yourself.

@SummaLuvin agree about D&G. Love some of their clothes, hate their attitude. I rarely buy designer stuff, my budget is more slightly higher end high street with the odd splurge or sales buy from The Outnet or similar.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 23/05/2021 12:42

@QueenCremant

Oh wow! I absolutely adore this dress! 😍

Forgive me because I'm new to this thread so still getting up to speed with everyone and their style and I'm on the app so can't refer back to people's names so it's hard to refer back to see who made the comments.

I can sympathise with kondo regret, as I've got rid of things in the past that I now regret. Saying that I've also held onto things for long enough that they're now back in style and surprisingly fit and are still very wearable. I tend to purchase quite classic pieces and stay away from super trendy items. I've got a few pairs of ultra wide leg trousers and jeans from 15 years ago that I can now and will wear again.

I feel like the clothing styles have changed so much in the past year, so have invested in quite a lot over the past two months. Previously I was going into an office everyday and would wear gorgeous dresses and heels, but everything seems so much more casual now. I've bought 5 pairs of jeans/trousers, 5 pairs of summer shoes/sandals, 3 handbags, 5 shirts/blouses, 1 blazer, and at least 6 dresses. Still waiting for the weather to warm up so I can wear most of it. Typing that all out has made me realise I need to stop now!! I've also got even more dresses I purchased since the very start of lockdown that I've not had a chance to wear yet.

So glad to see you ladies getting excited to go out for lunches and dinners again. How did you find people were dressed? Same as before or more casual? I've got a dinner date with friends in a couple weeks and I don't know whether to wear one of my nice new dresses or a more casual pair of jeans and one of my new blouses and jeans. I love dresses up, but hate looking the odd one out like I'm trying too hard.

Karcheer · 23/05/2021 12:59

@stokey well remembered! TBH I'm still in the same place, I definitely still have clothes from then that weren't right that still aren't.
I'm going to give detoxing my wardrobe a go on my own, the throwing out will be brutal but I imagine filling the holes i'll find very hard.

We went out for a local curry last night. There were a lot of older people out (60+ the 2 jab crew :D ) all very well dressed.

DryWhiteagainW · 23/05/2021 12:59

Morning! Just caught up. So many lovely links.

Caroline B that Gucci dress is SOOOOO you. Really glad to took the plunge. I adore the Valentino shoe boots. And Grin at “I’m back!”

Totally agree with Wine (I think) about saggy bottom fear with jumpsuits...I’ve seen a few too.

I’m in my lounge wear (Baukjen joggers, Mango sweat shirt, Air and G trainers) which for those of you who don’t know my style, is the total opposite of what I love to wear....bloody lockdown!!!

Had the most fabulous day in the city mooching round with my Dsis yesterday. You know “proper” mooching starting with coffee, nice lunch with a glass of wine and ending with a G + T before home time. It felt amazing to browse round shops with clothes in them!!!!! Saw some lovely things, even TRIED on!!! But not tempted. Dresses up too. Great people watching...loads of very over dresses young women on dos dresses up to the nines....so much fun.

SummaLuvin · 23/05/2021 13:20

Just to say thank you to all the regulars be being so welcoming. It will definitely take me a while to get up to speed and remember everyones style and taste.

Found this brand today, I think I want everything. It's a fairly accessible price point for designer too. www.net-a-porter.com/en-gb/shop/designer/agua-by-agua-bendita

Themarvellousmrsm · 23/05/2021 14:53

Yay, Sunday links - thanks Queen Love, love the pineapple ODLR dress not so much the pants!

Dry your day out yesterday sounds fabulous; looking forward to doing similar with my dsis in a couple of weeks.

Caroline saw your post re the Burberry and was going to say exactly the same as Queen plus get the dress, perfect for you.

I've made a few purchases recently (returned way more than I've kept) mostly from Hush and Sweaty Betty but reluctant to buy too much for summer as it'll be woefully short this year.

Shop your rec for the Tan luxe and Erborian cc cream were spot on, so what mascara would you recommend? Preferably from Boots as I've £80 on my card! Been using Eyeko for last couple of years and fancy a change. Hope Ds is feeling better today.

Themarvellousmrsm · 23/05/2021 14:59

There are some pretty pieces in your link Summerluvin but even the model is struggling to make the linen shorts uber stylish!

Pretty sure there's a photo somewhere of me wearing similar over a nappy when a baby

shopafrolic · 23/05/2021 15:12

@Themarvellousmrsm I am v dull with mascara and always use the original Lancôme hypnose. Stays put, lengthens and lifts - perfect.
Lates Hourglass one is also great as comes off with just water.
