Anyone using either of these? How have you found the products?

I tried skin and me because I've always had really oily skin and I get big, red, angry spots. Also I'd noticed that I was starting to get fine lines around my eyes and mouth. I'm 29 and I figured that it was best to deal with them ASAP to stop them from getting worse.

I've been using it for 3 months now. I saw an immediate difference in the texture and brightness of my skin, it started to really glow. Also my spots and redness have gotten so much better. My fine lines have pretty much disappeared, but that didn't happen straight away, I've only noticed it very recently.

I'm very happy with skin and me. I like the texture of it and it melts in to my skin straight away. In my first month I stopped using it for a couple of weeks because I was being lazy and the difference in my skin was really noticeable. I think I'd gotten used to my skin looking good, I didn't realise how bad it was before until then Grin I haven't stopped using it since. Also I was using so many products before (scrubs, masks, serums) and I really like the simplicity now. I just have face wash, micellar water, skin and me, moisturiser and spf. Much prefer using only 5 skincare products, I think I used to use about 9 😂

My code is SAMANTHL5W3N if anyone wants it.

Onfyre · 25/03/2021 21:52

Just signed up for skin&me using Sams code, excited to see if it helps. I feel like my pores are getting bigger each bloody day!!

My code for you to get 2 months free is below, if anyone wishes to you it. I’ll report back in a few months with how I got on

Code :
LINDSAYK5TQR

dibly · 26/03/2021 12:41

I’ve just started my second month on skin and me, 48 jowly, pigmentation and aging skin. I’m so so pleased with the results already even on the second lowest does of tret, age spots are fading, skin looks so much clearer and fresher. Absolutely hooked. Have a discount code if people want it but don’t want to come across as a sales pitch (aware I probably do😂) but just wished I’d started this months ago. Saved a fortune on the ‘next new wonder cream’ already.

startingtosmileagain · 26/03/2021 17:41

Just to update, I have been using now Skin and Me for nearly 6 months. I am not on 0.19% Tret. Some months I do get a tiny bit of peeling at the side of my nose (bridge) but that can be a dry spot for me anyway. This lasts for a few days just why my skin adjusts to the new container. I just use a bit on the La Roche Posay cream which they recommend about 10 mins after for those few days and that has always sorted it out quickly.

I don't like it when that happens, but this downside is very little to the benefits I have found. I compared my side view photo, that I submitted to Skin and Me in the initial consultation, with one taken today and I can't believe the difference it has made. I had age spots/pigmentation (that I didn't realise I had until I had to take the photo in the first place!) and now that has completely gone.

I use Skinceuticals 50 factor spf evey day now, so fingers crossed when the sun comes out the pigmentation won't return.

Overall I am really happy with the cream and will continue to us. It also really helps when people us my link! - Thank you for that!

Try two months of Skin + Me for free, on me with my friend code. Just use my code ZARAR5JYM click here

Has anyone noticed any changes to pore size? That is my main concern. Not started yet, only just ordered

Yamaya · 26/03/2021 19:20

I just signed up for skin & me last night. I'm very excited! How long do you have to wait for them to review your consultation and tell you what they are prescribing?

Pore size is my main concern too. I've just finished my first month and can see zero difference but appreciate that it's early days
ButeIsle · 27/03/2021 09:46

I've been using Dermatica and my nose is just about smooth now. I've always had large pores and bleach heads. My nose looked like a strawberry!
In fact my friend who is a beautician once gave me a little talk about how 'many people forget to clean the end of their nose...' I now realise she was very gently pointing at ME 😂.

Anyway, I digress. After the photo consultation with Dermatica I've used their cream each month and my nose is shiny clean, the rest of my skin improved in texture too. Some initial flaking but not loads, I just rested that area. I also found the No7 hot cloth cleanser stopped the flaking. That's all I use with a basic moisturiser.

This is the Dermatica link which gains you free access for the first month and 25% off your second. Earns me a little discount too.

Chocolateteabag · 16/04/2021 12:14

I've just used a referral code from above and just place my order

This is my code if anyone fancies trying it LUCYS5DFT and LINK

(You get Month 1 and 5 for £3.50, I get £5 off my next monthly order and it's £19.99 per month)

I'm getting what looks like a normal "starter" mix (I have mature acne & lines):

Tretinoin (0.006%): a retinoid with decades of evidence backing-up its effectiveness in treating acne

Clindamycin (1%): an antibiotic proven to reduce acne-promoting bacteria and inflammation

Azelaic Acid (4%): normalises skin cells and has antibacterial effects

Yamaya · 16/04/2021 12:28

Interesting Chocolateteabag, I got the same amount of tret and azelaic acid but with Niacinamide 4%.
My issue was fine lines and dullness.
Good to see they do actually tailor it to your skin.
I've been using it about 2 weeks and can already see a dramatic difference. Much clearer brighter skin. My clogged pores are looking so much brighter and non existent really. Rest of my skin looks a lot fresher and healthy. I'm super impressed!

LetTheCatIn · 16/04/2021 12:34

@Bomblette

Bigbuttons - you get a mix, depending on what your concerns are - so mine is tret, azelaic acid and niacinamide for a bit of pigmentation and aging.
In my experience, that's what they seem to give everyone. DD and I signed up at the same time. She and I have very different skin, and skin concerns. We ended up with identical 'prescriptions' of the same ingredients as you Confused. We've both cancelled now, and I've gone back to buying tretinoin from Spain, which works brilliantly.
Chocolateteabag · 16/04/2021 12:39

@LetTheCatIn - I'm going to give it a couple of months and see as I want to make sure I build up the tretinoin carefully. But then might see about going to direct tret.

How do you buy yours though? Any post Brexit issues? I am really put off ordering from the EU and getting a Duty/VAT bill in the post afterwards

Catcrazy008 · 16/04/2021 12:45

I have a 2 months free code.
KELLYB5DCV.
I have used dermatica but much prefer skin + me.
Better product, love the dosing bottle. So much easier to use the correct amount.

I buy mine from here: www.farmaciaenandorra.com/shop/retirides-01-30g
No issues with delivery post Brexit, it arrived about 4 days after ordering and I haven't had any additional bills.

An unimpressed with Skin + Me. As I said DD's skin is completely different to mine, she listed very different concerns to me, plus she's 30 years younger! Despite all that, we were given identical ingredients.

LetTheCatIn · 16/04/2021 22:15

Sorry chocolateteabag I was just trying out another username Grin It is me!

Grognonne · 16/04/2021 22:22

I’ve been using skin+me since January and I think I’m going to cancel as I can’t see a difference at all. I’ve been using it for wrinkles and uneven skin tone, so maybe it’s better for acne prone skin? If anything I think it’s made the unevenness worse. I’ve been using all the stuff they recommend, but maybe I’ll try dermatologica instead for a bit.

QueenPaw · 17/04/2021 00:07

Update that I'm still using skin and me happily
First pic taken before Botox (I had 4 Botox in total)
Second pic is after 18 months no Botox, and 3 years after the first pic and using skin and me
Lighting I couldn't replicate but anyway, you can see the difference. I barely get spots any more when I used to have hormonal acne. Very happy!

Skin + Me or Dermatica
Lndnmummy · 17/04/2021 00:10

I’ve tried both and much prefer skin and me. Dermatics wasn’t at all tolerated by my skin but skin and me is fine

Lndnmummy · 17/04/2021 00:14

My code for skin +me (gives you two months for free) is CAROLINE59PU

stevalnamechanger · 17/04/2021 00:37

Dermatica all the way 🙏🏼

Megmargs · 14/05/2021 16:33

This thread was really helpful, thank you! How is everyone getting on now?

Just signed up to skin + me after dermatica seemed to ignore what I was saying in my initial response email, so I cancelled it before getting charged for something I didn’t want! I used one of the referral codes in this thread (thanks!) to try skin + me instead as it has much better reviews. Here’s my referral code if anyone wants to try it for two months (1st and 5th) free:

I used Dermatica for about six months and no change . I wanted help with age spots .

I sent in photos at review stage and said this and they just sent out the same with no comment or response .

It didn’t feel like a review .

Is skin and me better with this ?

Lndnmummy · 16/05/2021 11:54

@Megmargs yes I’d say. I had the same from Dermatica when approaching them with my reactions to the products. Skin +me in my opinion has miles better customer service.

Megmargs · 16/05/2021 15:17

@MoriaRoseForever I don’t know yet, I submitted my photos to skin + me on Friday and haven’t heard anything yet. With dermatica I got (what is now clearly an automated) email saying that it appeared I have active acne so I was going to be prescribed stuff for that instead of pigmentation which I requested. I responded and explained I don’t have acne, it was a recent breakout due to eating foods I don’t normally eat and it wasn’t representative of how my skin normally is. The response was pushing the same ingredients and explaining to me what they all did which I already knew, and going on about my “acne” again. I actually felt it was quite insulting to people who really do suffer with acne and not the odd spot so I didn’t try to argue again and just cancelled it cause it was clear they weren’t going to budge.
I don’t know if skin + me send out an email first or just send the prescription. However every review I’ve seen says they have much better customer service and I like the idea of the “daily doser” so you always use the same amount of product and don’t run out by accidentally using too much.

@Lndnmummy that’s good to know, thanks

Letsgetreadytocrumble · 16/05/2021 15:51

I agree that if it's just Tretinoin that you are after then Retirides from Farmacia Andorra is the way to go. So much cheaper than a subscription service and I was surprised at how quickly it arrived!
