Anyone using either of these? How have you found the products?

Bingowin · 08/02/2021 17:15

@popularinthe80s I didn’t know it could make it worse, that’s really unlucky.

I started on 0.05% Tretinoin with 4% hydroquinine 6 months ago and now the Tretinonin has just been increased to 0.1%.

I really hope the alternative treatment works for you.

This is my code which gets you two months free

Cropped but the glow is insane now, and no it's not oily!

@Bingowin thanks.
@QueenPawPaws, you look beautiful!

Noheadlockshere · 09/02/2021 14:08

Thanks @QueenPawPaws - just used your code to swap from Dermatica to Skin + Me as too much peeling going on with the former even using every other day over moisturiser....fingers crossed for a better result this time.

My code for 2 months free Skin + Me for anyone else: PAMELAC3NXK

Junobug · 09/02/2021 20:02

Those of you who have moved from Dermatica to Skin+Me, did you get given the same prescription?

CoronaCurls · 10/02/2021 13:14

I want sign up to skin+me - my biggest issue is redness on my chin but I haven't found anywhere in the form to mention this.

Do you think they will notice it on the photos and prescribe something for it?

Noheadlockshere · 10/02/2021 18:57

With Dermatica I was on 0.015% trenotin and 4% niacinamide. I've only used it for the first month but I have really sensitive skin (stress related eczema flare ups) and was very red and peely (!) even using every other night and over moisturiser as they suggest. I could see some improvement but the redness/ peeling was a bit scary.

Skin + Me have prescribed the same but also 4% azelaic acid. Not yet arrived but decided to swap as others on here seemed to say they had less sensitivity to this brand. I will update you! The difference in prescription has probably come from the way the questions are phrased across the two sites. To the previous poster who said they couldn't find anywhere to put specific details down on the Skin + me website, I noticed that too but there is an email to contact them on so maybe try that before ordering? I would probably have persevered with Dermatica if I hadn't read the comments about sensitivity on here (and also got the discount codes!). I do really like the approach of using these prescription creams though as it's a really paired back regime and I was thoroughly confused before about all the serums and layering - I'm basic person with this stuff (shouldn't really be on S&B!!) so hoping to emerge looking fabulous in time for lockdown ending Wink

Justgivemeamoment · 10/02/2021 23:08

I've just started Dermatica and my skin feels incredibly smooth !
Excited to see how this continues.

What are the skin+me packages like ? From Dermatica you seem to get a small plastic pump bottle every month. I'm a serious single use plastic avoider and feel bad ! Is skin & me packed differently ?

idontknowaboutmortgages · 10/02/2021 23:10

Recyclable aluminum tube

Justgivemeamoment · 11/02/2021 15:27

@idontknowaboutmortgages

Recyclable aluminum tube
Right ! Thank you, I'll swap !
Hopdathelf · 11/02/2021 17:10

Only recyclable if your local authority takes mixed materials. There is plastic inside the tube that can’t be removed easily.

Eyjafjallajokulldottir · 11/02/2021 17:37

Thanks for the discount code, I've just swapped from dermatica to skin and me. I like dermatica but now I'm on the 0.05 tretinoin my skin peels for days after using it. Which is fine in lockdown but not so much when we're allowed out again! Hopefully skin and me isn't so "peely".

Letsskidaddle · 11/02/2021 21:35

I've been using Dermatica for around 6 months now for both acne AND wrinkles/age spots (sigh).

The improvement has been INCREDIBLE and I'm so delighted. The Age spots have completely gone, fine lines are improved as are old acne scars and for years I had a really congested chin, with painful cystic acne, and it's totally clear. Not been like this since I was a teenager.

For the first couple of months I didn't really see any change, but was aware that it's a long-term solution not a quick fix.

For the first time since I was about 15 I'm happy to go out with no foundation/concealer on. (Not that the supermarket is exactly 'out out' but you know what I mean!!)

Confident in my skin finally and I'm nearly 50. Didn't expect 30 year old acne scars to improve much but they really have.

Having said all this, Skin and Me also sounds really good. I've saved heaps of money not buying the latest 'miracle' cream or serum too.

minipie · 14/02/2021 09:36

Just sharing a skin + me code for anyone who wants (first two months free except £4 p&p)

Bomblette · 16/02/2021 08:40

Thank you to whoever used my code - hope you like it as much as I do!

Anyadvice463 · 16/02/2021 10:46

I've been on skin and me since January for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I had a little purge mainly closed comedones but I have to say even though it's slow progress its the best I've had so far. I considered dermatica but after reading about all the peeling etc I went with skin and me it's definitely better to start off slower they also have a great friendly group you can get some great advice from.

My code is LATISHAM3RUQ if anyone wants to use it it would help me greatly as well!

funtimefrank · 16/02/2021 22:15

I am on demetica and tbh quite disappointed. Been using since sept and I get peeling and sensitive skin but no glow and only a fairly minimal impact on skin texture which was what I was really hoping for.

I may swap to skin +me if I get a couple of months for free.

Eyjafjallajokulldottir · 16/02/2021 22:56

I like skin and me so far but the dispenser thingy doesn't give you much product each time you twist it. Hardly enough to cover my face.
Or maybe my face is just massive 😄

I was just about to post the same thing! I would pay extra £s for more product . My neck needs it!
QueenPaw · 16/02/2021 23:51

@Eyjafjallajokulldottir I dot it around my face which helps! Think of it like a thin layer so I kind of smooth it over
Plus avoid around lips, eyes and neck (I take mine just under my jaw line as I often get breakouts there)

BigButtons · 17/02/2021 08:33

I thought about skin and me but didn’t want to upload photos.
I use my own tret - is that basically what they prescribe?

Bomblette · 17/02/2021 08:48

Bigbuttons - you get a mix, depending on what your concerns are - so mine is tret, azelaic acid and niacinamide for a bit of pigmentation and aging.
