Can I pull off this hairstyle.

So I'm 58, wearing quite well but only 5'2 and a full figured 14 so am a bit mumsy, my hair is fairly thick with a wave in it, I have a round face, think a cross between Dawn French/Kerry Catona/ Amanda Redman. I have had this image on my phone for ages, am I kidding myself and will I look ridiculous.

They're older op but they're very attractive with great bone structure etc. It all boils down to - are you gorgeous? If not don't do it

Those are quite severe looking to me, BUT, I think it might be how they are styled. Particularly the last two. When that was flat it might look like a slightly longer version of this?

So, probably more versatile than it looks.

Do you have a good hairdresser? I think you might need to have a really good one to get the right thing. There is one who gets recommended on here a lot. He is in London, if you are near? Obviously, won't be open at the moment, but for future.

Going against the grain here, but I would say just try! What’s the worst that can happen? You might love it, or it might not work and it’ll grow out. Or maybe you get to the hairdresser and they suggest a modification to the cut to suit your face?

Yes you can definitely pull it off if you love it and have been thinking about it for ages, go for it!
If you don't like it, it'll grow back! But I think it would look lovely.

I'm not sure I'm brave enough for those. I mentioned Amanda Redman as my hair and face shape is similar. My hair is lovely when down, it holds is shape really well, but I can spend ages doing it, it looks lovely, but then It will irritate my neck I get hot and end up putting it up.

I agree with above poster this is very ageing hairstyle (Karen springs to mind )
I’m a stylist if your hair is thick and wavy and in good condition and it’s currently long just have it styled properly and maybe some weight taken out so it’s not so hot against your neck xx

I love Tilda Swinton’s hair but she has a long swanlike neck. I would look like an Aberdeen Angus with a toupee.

I love that hair but it can be difficult for anyone to pull off without it making you look 'ard!

What about a bob? A bob with an edgier cut could be worn softer with a bit of curl or straightened. I think bobs are more forgiving for a rounder face too (I have one so may be a tiny bit biased )

These 2 photos were taken on the same day, I'm over 50 and nearly always have short hair. My hair isn't very thick or wavy though.

This is mine- I am a size 14 with a round face and it is my best hairstyle by far.

I like the original cut and my 12 year old daughter has something very similar currently.
