Does anyone still shop in Boden? (Of course they do but ya know) What do you recommend? I never see anything that sparks my fancy anymore...

Eldon jumpers and Richmond trousers. Boring but very useful.

Campervan69 · 27/01/2021 19:35

Yes I love my Richmond trousers. Most other things are a bit pricey for me atm sadly. Or not fabulous enough to pay so much for.

JabbyMcJabface · 27/01/2021 19:37

The occasional blouse/shirt.

Just got a great sweatshirt with a print on it.

Have given up on their dresses. Didn’t seem to quite fit.

addicted2spaniels · 27/01/2021 19:38

I've got several wardrobe staple skirts from there. And I like their short sleeved silk tops for work in the summer.

I do find the sizing very unpredictable though.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 27/01/2021 20:25

I want this www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/thompson-puffer-coat-deep-forest/sty-t0646-dgr so much! But I don't need a coat, and haven't got a spare £210.

I saw someone on the telly wearing it and have been thinking about it ever since. Which is surprising as I've never bought anything from boden.

PatsyKen · 27/01/2021 20:29

Oh @JofraArchersFastestBall I love that coat!

JofraArchersFastestBall · 27/01/2021 20:38

@PatsyKen don't buy it! I'm hoping it'll be reduced at some point Grin

Oly4 · 27/01/2021 20:40

Yes, their jersey dresses in the summer are a staple, I also love their work trousers
Don’t really like the prints.
But quite a bit for the kids, I think it’s amazing quality for kids

PatsyKen · 27/01/2021 20:40

@ @JofraArchersFastestBall Yes, I’m going to wait for sales too. I’d rather have it at the start of winter too rather than now.

limesoda · 27/01/2021 20:48

I have an amazing leather skirt from there, a zillion times better than the ones I'd ordered from allsaints and whistles.

Really do not love the fun print part of it though.

Arrivederla · 27/01/2021 23:38

I think they are cutting down on the "fun prints" now - they don't do all those awful hotchpotch patterns that they used to do and things are generally better imo.

Still a bit hit and miss though at times.

Toilenstripes · 27/01/2021 23:43

I have found that their necklines and overall styles don’t work well with my xxl bust.

youbigchump · 28/01/2021 07:10

Richmond trousers and swimwear/ beach coverups.

BikeRunSki · 28/01/2021 07:19

For me - only Richmond Trousers
I like some of the tops, the they are always too short in the body.
For the DC, the occasional bits in sales, but they’re getting a bit old for it.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 28/01/2021 07:19

Me too. It's fabulous quality for the price and really well cut.

Also agree that Eldon jumpers are good.

I have always found Boden really hit and miss, in terms of quality.

WhatsYourNameMan · 28/01/2021 07:24

I have around a thousand Boden dresses Blush but the few times I've ventured into anything else it's not quite been right and it's gone back. Interested in the good reviews for Richmond trousers - I find trousers almost impossible to buy online or in real life but I might give them a whirl.

Buy the kids a lot of clothes in the sale and never disappointed.

That green coat is lovely but so expensive! Might be reduced around March/April? And put away for next year.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 28/01/2021 07:24

I'm another Richmond trousers fan. And Richmond shorts.

I've got quite a few Ravello tops in different colours and prints and some jersey summer dresses.

But I can't be doing with the really fussy prints or the "fun" stuff.

PatsyKen · 28/01/2021 10:11

Are the Richmond trousers true to size? What’s so good about them? I’m tempted!

MoltonSilver · 28/01/2021 10:19

I was so disappointed that the Richmond trousers didn't suit me. The cut and quality are lovely but the rise is quite low. Too low for any one prone to muffin top :-( I wish they made them with a slightly higher waist.

BikeRunSki · 28/01/2021 11:39

@MoltonSilver, if you buy the “tall” ones, the rise is a bit higher.

Oly4 · 29/01/2021 12:06

Richmonds have a good amount of stretch and wash like a dream. They are perfect work trousers

atomt · 29/01/2021 12:15

I used to love them but their prices have gone up so much in the past few years that I no longer shop there... I can find similar items elsewhere for less and/or made of organic cotton etc. with better ethics in general.

CleverCatty · 29/01/2021 12:17

Not me as personally I found it got very samey - all 'big patterns on skirts' etc.

I find it expensive for what it is. If I ever do see something I like, it's out of stock.

Some kids wear is nice

CleverCatty · 29/01/2021 12:18

Thank god for that!

Have they stopped using their 'fun' models - "Katie from Barnes who likes cats and knitting" or whatever. I don't care!

Carycy · 29/01/2021 15:37

They do essential roll necks which are basically thin cotton polo necks. Perfect for under pinafores.love them.

Still get bits for the kids.Increasingly less for me.

Definitely nothing from the summer collections apart from their swimsuits. Far too frumpy,

Winter knitwear is ok.
