Longline puffer coat?

That is showerproof very warm but doesn't add 2 sizes to my already over generous lockdown frame, does such a thing exist?

I bought a lovely one from M&S 2 years ago but the material outside holds every single smell, went out to eat (way before covid!) and afterwards my coat smelt awful of food until I washed it.

I'd like one below the knees, good budget if it's made to last.

Does anyone own such a thing?

I also want one like this but extra long (top of boots) and waterproof rather than showerproof.

OP, Uniqlo do a long version of this - it looks like it is OOS at the moment as I can't find it but they often come back in. Might suit your purposes

JanieLane · 26/01/2021 16:58

I’d also be interested in this type of coat. I’m sick of being cold!

IndieRo · 26/01/2021 17:19

Watching with interest. I would love one too.

bookshop1 · 26/01/2021 17:21

Uniqlo ultra light down

MrsKingfisher · 26/01/2021 18:45

Gah that's annoying! They are understandably very popular.

rosinavera · 26/01/2021 18:53

Look on Landsend

Tangledtresses · 26/01/2021 18:56

Not cheap but worth every penny Canada goose coat
I love mine, it's water proof, very warm and comfortable it's waisted too so not too puffy or square

Annasgirl · 26/01/2021 18:58

I bought a long one from Superdry in November. Everyone admires it. It is showerproof, with a hood. I bought it in Navy but it was also available in black.

It is microfibre, not down filled, I prefer this as I am allergic to feathers! Mine is half way between my knees and ankles. I can pull up the bottom of the zip so that I am not hobbling. I have worn it every day since it arrived in November!!!

ParisJeTAime · 26/01/2021 19:00

I got a nice one from Landsend, as already suggested. It's fantastic. Long and very warm.
Really like wearing a sleeping bag. Was reduced in sales so not sure the same one will be on there anymore, but I'm sure they have similar.

snowliving · 26/01/2021 19:07

I also recommend Landsend for reasonable price version.

DD bought a lovely looking under armor one for Xmas but she actually finds it rather cold.

BrunoMars · 26/01/2021 19:12

I have one from Landsend, no complaints at all!

NellyJames · 26/01/2021 19:19

Trespass?

NellyJames · 26/01/2021 19:21

Should say I also have a Lands End one but it was fairly cheap. It’s warm but not ultra warm so if you have a high budget you may be able to buy artic warmth but you may struggle in late January. Early October is the best time to buy a coat IME.

Daisy829 · 26/01/2021 19:36

I’ve never thought about looking at land send for coats. Does anyone have this

GreenWillow · 26/01/2021 20:05

My Lululemon one is literally akin to wearing a waterproof duvet.

Expensive, but worth every penny.

Deathraystare · 27/01/2021 09:36

Who are you people??? You have forced me to buy a long coat and ££ other stuff!!!!

ParisJeTAime · 27/01/2021 09:49

@Daisy829, not sure it's exactly the same, but I have this one:

www.landsend.co.uk/s/LandsEndUK/Womens_Hooded_Maxi_Down_Coat/pp/5510512.html?cclid=Google_CjwKCAiAxeX_BRASEiwAc1QdkVqAAED5K-Eax3XyOKqdRmSkTMPo91Ne9FGXIf83g5lOD0s8rlDxRoC4KQQAvD_BwE&cm_mmc=search_g_pla_6514533806_50283210%20-12TAO&gclid=CjwKCAiAxeX_BRASEiwAc1QdkVqAAED5K_-Eax3XyOKqdRmSkTMPo91Ne9FGXIf83g5lOD0s8rlDxRoC4KQQAvD_BwE

I like it a lot and find it plenty warm enough. However, I'm in the SE England. If you are in the countryside around Aberdeen, you might want something more hardcore.

Grin @Deathraystare. What did you go for?

ClinkyMonkey · 27/01/2021 09:52

I bought the Emma Willis one from Next. It's very warm and is shower proof, but not properly waterproof. I couldn't go for a down filled one as I'm allergic. I love it but have hardly worn it as I haven't been out much! It comes up pretty large, so I went down a size and still have room for a bulky sweater underneath. Sorry, but my iPad won't play ball with doing a link!

@Deathraystare That made me laughGrin. I do that too after seeing stuff on here.

Deathraystare · 27/01/2021 09:56

@ParisJeTAime

What didn't I got for!!!!

A long red coat with out down in it. Plus several tops and trousers and a dress!

ParisJeTAime · 27/01/2021 10:06

Ah t'is the curse of the S&B board! Enter at your peril Wink

Daisy829 · 27/01/2021 12:05

I’ve ended up ordering one from Joules & one from super dry so I’ve got options!

Welshponyslave · 27/01/2021 21:31

I tried many but kept this one. It is so warm, I wear it without the belt and have had compliments 😂
I am very happy with it.

itwillbehormones · 27/01/2021 21:51

Try mango. I've never bought from there before but picked up a fab long coat.

BeginningBridge · 27/01/2021 22:59

I've also got a long very warm coat from Landsend. I bought it a few years ago so not current but it has worn very well.
