Longline puffer coat?

MrsKingfisher · 26/01/2021 14:03

That is showerproof very warm but doesn't add 2 sizes to my already over generous lockdown frame, does such a thing exist?

I bought a lovely one from M&S 2 years ago but the material outside holds every single smell, went out to eat (way before covid!) and afterwards my coat smelt awful of food until I washed it.

I'd like one below the knees, good budget if it's made to last.

Does anyone own such a thing?

I've been eyeing a long longline puffer from Zara. Probably not fully waterproof but shower proof for British drizzle

I've hit a Uniqlo one , it's so light and soft ! They have loads of different styles and sizes but it's the comfiest coat I've ever had !

I second the Emma Willis coat from next. Absolutely love it! I have it in black and as soon as they are back in stock will be getting a khaki one

I got a lovely French connection one from tk maxx

flowersWB · 28/01/2021 18:09

It's not quite puffer but this is quilted and fleece lined and totally keeps the cold out in NE England. Plus it's a really elegant longline shape and if anything improves my shape rather than adds weight to it.

@MrsKingfisher I go on every day...there are random sizes that become available.

Deathraystare · 29/01/2021 16:03

My order has come from :Lands End, delivered to work. Obvs cannot open it yet:( However I will apparently be in work tomorrow so will report back.

Daisy829 · 29/01/2021 17:15

@newmummy8789 is the Emma Willis coat generous in sizing?

newmummy8789 · 29/01/2021 17:32

@Daisy829 yes. I think you could easily size down and it's so warm you wouldn't need to have big jumpers etc on underneath x

Deathraystare · 30/01/2021 16:30

Well I had an email from Lands End to apologise for the wait (I ordered on Wednesday!). A big bag arrived but no coat! Would be the thing I was desperate for , wouldn't it???

Sweetpea1989 · 30/01/2021 20:04

Jack wolfskin? I’ve just bought this and not had it off. It’s loads warmer than it looks.

Lands End. I bought this one in the sale recently and it’s brilliant. Slim-ish so I don’t feel puffed up, nice shade of green, super warm and cosy and definitely shower-proof. At the moment they’re offering an extra £15 off sale prices. Oh and I’m a size 10/12 and the Small is perfect. Their stuff comes up big.

I have an ankle length Lands End one and I love it.

Wallabyone · 01/02/2021 17:39

I love the Next one-out of stock in both colours! I neeeed it!

Griselda1 · 01/02/2021 17:44

I'd really recommend the berghaus ones, there's an extra 20% of this one in jdwilliams

I brought this and was really surprised by the quality for such a low price! I was also impressed with the company having never ordered from them before. Came packaged beautiful with zero plastic. It’s really warm and comfy too.

Unfortunately only size 8 left but they have some others that may be worth looking at

Crapbags · 01/02/2021 18:18

Beautifully* 🤦🏼‍♀️

Jemimapuddleduk · 01/02/2021 18:21

There is a gorgeous Boden one.

Toomuchleopard · 01/02/2021 18:22

I’ve got this in black but I also really like the camel. It’s very warm and very flattering, I’m a busty size 12 www.hobbs.com/product/winnie-puffer-jacket/0220-3047-9045L00-CAMEL.html#cgid=clothing-coats-and-jackets&is=false&sz=60&start=0&isSecondPage=false&pid=0220-3047-9045L00-CAMEL&pos=10

I have one from Monki from 3 or 4 years ago but very similar to this one. It's lovely and warm and doesn't smell of food!

orchidsonabudget · 01/02/2021 18:35

I bought a landsend jacket in 2007 still going amazingly

Misophonia · 01/02/2021 18:58

Down jackets are generally said to be non-waterproof, whereas the polyester filled ones are, because theown holds on to water but the polyester drains. Hard to get completely waterproof outer fabric on puffer jackets if you want a slimmer outline.
