Wax strips takes seconds

Toilenstripes · 23/01/2021 04:20

I thought if you use bleach then you just have a blond moustache?

arcof · 23/01/2021 04:54

One of these, look on Amazon for it. I used to use Nair every few days and get horrible irritation, same with wax. This has been life changing for me and I swear it grows back finer now. (Yes yes I know it's basically like a rotary razor...)

Lumea, once a month. It’s brilliant.

Frodont · 23/01/2021 05:21

Shave then lumea. It's almost completely disappeared.

I keep seeing this and wondered, does it shave or tweeze ?
formerbabe · 23/01/2021 12:12

Don't bleach...what's the point? I buy a pack of facial wax strips from the pound shop and it's done in a few seconds

Greenvalleysightseeker · 23/01/2021 13:19

I wax too, I bought some large wax strips for the body but it hurt too much so now I just cut a little strip off and whip the hair off my top lip!

WingBingo · 24/01/2021 19:30

I order the Hollywood Browzer because of this thread.

Just wanted to say, it arrived today and wow it is good!

So easy and all my tip lip hair is gone in seconds. I may have got a bit carried away with the rest of my face.

badnews21 · 24/01/2021 19:45

@WingBingo great!

I bought the veet facial wax strips - pretty pleased for my first attempt!

@Londonisburningg

Fgs. Don’t shave it.

Just buy the facial wax strips. They’re extremely easy to use, virtually painless and results last a month.

My facial hair is very dark and I would look like a moustachioed lady for at least half the time, while I was waiting for enough regrowth to wax again. I need to deal with it every day; hence shaving which takes a few seconds in the shower every morning. I guess I could use hair removal cream but I'd still need to do it every other day and it takes longer and is more expensive.
ladybee28 · 27/01/2021 08:30

@MoriaRoseForever on the FAQ page it says

"The secret is a revolutionary Butterfly™ Technology that erases hair by microscopically paring it down through a spinning head. Neatly and discreetly housed under the 18 karat gold-plated head, the Butterfly™ Technology never touches delicate facial skin. Dermatologist approved, Flawless® is not a laser, hot wire, epilator, or razor. It is safe on all skin types and tones."

I still don't know WTF that means, but...

MrDarcysMa · 27/01/2021 08:40

Wax strips followed by witch hazel or sudocrem.
I couldn't shave it, couldn't bear the stubble !

S0CKS · 27/01/2021 08:44

One good thing about having to wear masks at work cant say I'm bothering to do much at all with it!

emmylousings · 27/01/2021 11:46

Hi all, really interested in this as I have had a huge tash since my teens, I have always bleached as I was too worried what it would look like when the hair grows back after waxing - I have black hair. How does the regrowth look?!

Really interested in the Lumea too; I always thought they only worked on dark hair - which yes I have - but I would need to 'go dark' before I could use it, which would be tricky...thoughts?

Flippyferloppy · 27/01/2021 11:48

Tweezers here. Just pluck a few out every time I look in the mirror. Can't be bothered doing them all at once

QuestionableMouse · 27/01/2021 11:54

Eyebrow razor every couple of days. I have an IPL but I've not been brave enough to use it on my face yet 😂

Waxing did sod all. I've tried various types of strips and they don't remove any of the hairs. (I have pcos so my facial hair is thick and black!)

ParkheadParadise · 27/01/2021 12:04

@badnews21
I have my eyebrows threaded every 4 weeks, all good.
One time she asked if I wanted my top lip done at the same time, I agreed.
IT FUCKING HURT I've had 2 children would rather have a third than have that done again. I was getting my eyelashes tinted at the same time. Thought I had gone blind as my eyes were watering so much the tint was running down my face😆😆. All I remember is her saying I've only done one side by that point I was out the chair😆😆

Graffitiqueen · 27/01/2021 12:39

JML thing here too. waxing or threading gave me spots

EastonSarah · 27/01/2021 14:20

If you've got light or olive skin with dark hair then use a good razor (Gruum is good) and then Lumea, Braun IPL or similar. Hair free for months or more.

ginandwineandbaileys · 27/01/2021 14:46

It's very easy to just thread yourself

GrumpyHoonMain · 27/01/2021 14:54

Are you south asian? If so some removal creams, home waxing strips and bleach kits aren’t always strong enough as they’re designed for fine hair and can discolour darker skin. I’m plucking at the moment as it’s the only thing that will work. (Shaving gives me 5 o’clock shadow).

Really unfair that local waxing places are closed when most beauticians were going way above the safety protocols, because it tends to be non-white women (who are already discriminated against enough) who suffer badly from this as there are often zero products that will work.

thecognoscenti · 27/01/2021 15:06

Is the Hollywood Browzer just a razor by another name? I'm tempted but not if it's going to give me stubble (pale skin and dark hair so would be very obvious) Sad

Crampon · 27/01/2021 15:14

Buzzy thing but mine was only a few pounds on amazon.
