Wax strips from amazon and then tweeze any hairs remaining as if you wax the same area too much it rips the skin off which I learned the hard way the first time I did it 😬

Wearing a mask...

@thecognoscenti

Is the Hollywood Browzer just a razor by another name? I'm tempted but not if it's going to give me stubble (pale skin and dark hair so would be very obvious) Sad
It's a fancy eyebrow razor. You can get the exact same things much cheaper!

@emmylousings

Hi all, really interested in this as I have had a huge tash since my teens, I have always bleached as I was too worried what it would look like when the hair grows back after waxing - I have black hair. How does the regrowth look?!

Really interested in the Lumea too; I always thought they only worked on dark hair - which yes I have - but I would need to 'go dark' before I could use it, which would be tricky...thoughts?

I'm not an expert in these matters, but I think as long as the root is dark you might be okay. You have to shave/remove the hair first before using any IPL anyway.
ViciousJackdaw · 27/01/2021 23:16

If you are of the opinion that 'OMG, I can't shave my FACE!', try those dermablading sticks you can get from Amazon - they're great! Use them all over your body, the amount of dead skin they scrape off is unreal.

Frodont · 28/01/2021 08:41

I shave it off with a normal razor - takes 30 seconds, then use the lumea. No black hairs left at all. Some stubborn white chin hairs which I'll get electrolysis on when life is normal.

I bought a Hollywood Browzer on the strength of this thread but I've managed to cut my face! ShockWhat am I doing wrong?

tobee · 28/01/2021 22:10

Think I'm going back to the derided on here jolen. Works for me!

sofiaaaaaa · 28/01/2021 22:11

Well I used to wax but now I’m allergic to the strips I use😩 hoping to get laser post-pandemic

@tobee

There's a technique to it - watch some dermaplaining videos on YouTube. You kinda need to go at a 45° angle across your skin.

tobee · 29/01/2021 00:55

Cheers thanks! Smile

YanTanTethera123 · 29/01/2021 02:38

Epilator, quick and easy!

Happyd · 29/01/2021 03:09

Off to order a Hollywood browser.. thanks ladies

Crookairroad · 29/01/2021 12:18

Hair removing cream. A facial specific one, not a body one. Shove a bit up each nostril at the same time.

QuestionableMouse · 29/01/2021 12:28

@happyd get a pack of eyebrow razors instead. They're exactly the same thing only you're not paying for a name.

Frodont · 29/01/2021 12:35

God don't bother with a browzer! Just use a mans razor!

Luckyelephant1 · 29/01/2021 13:50

Hmm I'm not convinced regarding shaving. I did used to shave in emergencies if I didn't have time to get my upper lip threaded (which was what I used to do before covid) and tbh I definitely felt the hair grew back a lot faster. It may not have been thicker but it feels it because the hairs are blunter. And there'd be more of a 'shadow' than with waxing or threading.

Since using wax strips the growth feels much slower even compared to threading.

BTW I have dark skin and coarse black hair so it may not be the same for every skin/hair type.

WunWun · 29/01/2021 13:55

I shave and use a Lumea.

Shaving it has been a game changer for me. It takes seconds has no side effects whatsoever. I've never plucked or waxed without getting a moustache of spots.

stickygotstuck · 29/01/2021 14:01

@gnomeisland

Plaiting it. Enhancing my every expanding lockdown Obelisk-the-Gaul aesthetic 😭
This made me giggle, which I badly neeeded, thanks gnomeisland! Grin FWIW, sounds like a winner to me!

Glad you are sorted OP.

TerriblyTiiiired · 29/01/2021 14:04

Waxing strips.

Usually get my ‘tache threaded, but the strips are an OK substitute for now.

Happyd · 29/01/2021 15:02

@QuestionableMouse too late was already in my basket will try them next time

MedusasBadHairDay · 29/01/2021 15:09

I've never had any luck with wax strips, so I shave, but I hate how often I have to do it. Itried the bendy wire coil things (no idea what they are called) they work ok, but I have a lot of hair and it wasn't getting it all.
I kind of want to try the Lumea, but that's a lot of money.

Geordieoldgirl · 30/01/2021 21:46

I shave too. Never encountered any one else who would admit to it! In the past I have tried waxing and bleaching (and will tweeze if desperate and the disposable razors have run out) but these methods are all much more irritating to the skin than shaving. And it is so quick - a few seconds, once or twice a week.

chocolatespiders · 30/01/2021 21:53

If you use a razor do you use shave cream? I don't bother for my legs but might be different for face!

WunWun · 30/01/2021 23:20

No, I just use soap
