Squat proof, well fitted black leggings for 5'4 DD 13

So that's it really. I'm looking for a decent pair of size S or XS black leggings for 5'4 size 6 that are not see through and fit well in that they don't go baggy etc. DD doesnt need supportive high waist leggings so sweaty betty or Lululemon aren't necessary plus obvs they are ££ but something well made. She currently wears Adidas leggings which are see through when she bends over. I want to keep costs as low as possible as well.

Gymshark are great gym leggings

FlyingByTheSeatof · 07/01/2021 13:52

@CoffeeCheeseandCupcakes yes I've been looking at those actually which DD mentioned earlier.

They had a pair that I had my eye on so that's perfect that you've given them a thumbs up.

I have some from Decathlon that I rate.

www.decathlon.co.uk/p/900-women-s-cross-training-leggings/_/R-p-182792?mc=8520749&c=BLACK

They're not printed, but dyed black, so no white flash when you bend or squat. Really comfy, pretty flattering, and have stood up to being washed frequently. Also, they're in the sale atm.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 07/01/2021 13:58

Are there any similar ones but cheaper

Thanks @MangoBiscuit I've also been looking at Decathlon so that's also brilliant to know

H&M sportswear is good quality ime and not expensive

Whatwouldscullydo · 07/01/2021 14:02

H&m ones are good

MangoBiscuit · 07/01/2021 14:02

@FlyingByTheSeatof I have lots of different leggings from Decathlon, but sadly a lot of them aren't really squat proof. The ones I linked are though.

Sunshineskies · 07/01/2021 14:05

I’ve always bought H&M leggings, not the sports ones, just the regular leggings. The quality is excellent, I’ve had some for years and years.

beckyyl · 07/01/2021 14:13

Gymshark are great! 100%

CMOTDibbler · 07/01/2021 14:17

I'm wearing these from Decathlon right now and they are comfy, long lasting and squat proof. They are labelled as warm, but they aren't super thick to be too hot indoors

mycatscausehell · 07/01/2021 14:21

AYBL are really good for me

FlyingByTheSeatof · 07/01/2021 14:31

I'm looking more now at all black sports type leggings so not ones that are cotton that she would have worn when she was younger or ones that are that weird cheap shiny thin material. But ones that are a slightly thicker sturdier material.

Thank you all so far for your contributions it's really been a huge help.

the aybl motion seamless ones then

The youtube HopeScope has a section on her website where she tests around 300 leggings to see if they are squatproof, may be of help?

TwilightToStarlight · 07/01/2021 15:59

I don't know, but I've just ordered some Adidas leggings! Didn't think they'd be see through.

Sinophant on amazon get recommended a lot. I also have some Nike ones which I don't think are see through.

CoffeeCheeseandCupcakes · 07/01/2021 16:44

H&M gym ones are cute, but in my experience not always squat proof

FlyingByTheSeatof · 08/01/2021 08:33

The Adidas ones DD has seemed squat proof at first till a friend told her they definitely were not when she bent over. They are the ones with Adidas written in large white letters up one leg. They weren't cheap either from JD sports. They're ok so long as she doesn't squat down to pick anything up etc

Ah thanks. I've ordered some different ones; the stripy kind. Will have to do a squat / down face dog test when they get here! I usually wear a long tank top with them anyway, as I use them for yoga, but like you am not prepared to pay Sweaty Betty / lululemon prices, but maybe that's an error.

Graffitiqueen · 08/01/2021 09:14

Gymshark definitely.

dontgobaconmyheart · 08/01/2021 10:09

I'm not sure I've had any that truly are to be honest, and have owned gymshark, h&m etc. A lot of them it isn't noticeable at home looking but will be in the street in bright sunlight or when bending in similar light. You drive past people all the time who presumably have no idea.

I wear leggings almost all the time at home but don't consider them trousers so wouldn't wear them out as such, not without a jumper/jacket covering my bum anyway, for this reason. Tye more stretch they have, and the more they're stretching to fit, the more see through they'll likely be. My 'best' pair in this respect are some H&M 'thick leggings' which I'm not sure they sell any more. A lot less stretch and a thick cotton so obviously less comfy to a degree but they aren't that see through for general use.

Comefromaway · 08/01/2021 10:16

My daughter wears Adidas leggings that are definately not see through.

She also has some from Under Armour that she really likes.

TwilightToStarlight · 08/01/2021 10:19

Fingers crossed mine won't be too revealing then! Nobody wants to see that in yoga Grin.

I think they come up small, so sizing up might help as well.

pontiouspilates · 08/01/2021 10:19

I really rate Decathlon, great quality, excellent price and they have unusually big pockets to stash your phone in!

HermioneWeasley · 08/01/2021 10:19

iuga- cheap as chips on Amazon and excellent
