Lipstick Challenge - a different lipstick each day of Jan!

I remember a similar thread a few years ago that went down well

The idea is to use a different lipstick every day and share with the thread whether a review, photo, anything! It isn't about buying new ones necessarily but rediscovering ones you already own.

We do a NYD dinner here so will put a nice new one on for that tomorrow and report back!

rimmel Kate in 08 or may be 80. it says lasting finish and that its a cream. i find it quite lightweight and doesnt actually last long! however its very moisturising and so easy to wear. its another of my many many nude mauve pinks.

Thanks @Deathraystare. It looks quite a neutral pink in the tube so maybe its my colouring, I'm very fair & cool toned I think. Didn't wear anything but carmex balm yesterday but here is today's - Gosh velvet touch matte in Rose. My favourite go to lipstick & the one I wear most days (despite having about 50 other ones!)

So sorry I’m not managing to get round to photographing my loopy every day. I’ve gone for the wow factor today with Geurlain no78 - it doesn’t have a name on the packaging- it’s one of those with the little built in mirror. It’s a bright cool berry colour.

That looks lovely Freekstar but probably too blue for me. Saves me ££ though!

Sadly I am not wearing lipstick at the moment as have said so I am sufferring. Suffering I tell you! I do have Gale Hayman's lip lift thingy on so at least my lips have a treat!

@Lilypad78 - that looks a nice rose if it is not too cool? If it is neutral I may have a look.

@Deathraystare it is definitely cool toned, but not overly so. I'm a fairly neutral to cool complexion and find it ok- I don't think I look good in really cool tones or really warm. I tend to stick to neutral tones or those that lean slightly cool or slightly warm seem fine.

Hello, hope you don't mind me joining for ideas. I'm new to lipstick wearing.

I am trying to glam up a bit for Teams calls.

What would suit me? I have mid - dark brown hair with a few dark gold highlights. Slightly tanned skin and green eyes.

I'm thinking a natural tint might be the way to go to start with.

I've just bought Burt's Bees lip crayon in Niagara Overlook.

Will let you know how I get on!

Today its Rimmel stay matt in Troublemaker, love this vampy nude so much. Its mask proof but hasn't survived my Maccies.

Mac lady danger today!

I’ve been quietly watching this thread. I’ve always been a bit scared of lipstick - worried about making the wrong choices so have either stuck to what I know (same shade i first bought twenty years ago!) or nit bothered at all.

As I had some Christmas money to spend I’ve splurged and bought some Lisa Eldridge lipsticks. I’ve been watching her videos for a while and feel a bit more confident that I can tone the colours down by using them as a stain rather than directly applying to the lips!

If they arrive before the end of the month I might even dare post some pictures here 🙈

@Deathraystare maybelline matte ink. It's a darkish browny pink, one of my favourites.

This Revolution Brilliant Gloss in Ballerina.
I like that they use the same names for the colours whatever the format so you get Ballerina in gloss, lipstick, matte etc.

Today's effort - an Essence dupe of MAC whirl with a little clear gloss.

its lovely without gloss and darker, not drying and wears off evenly. i just think gloss is more flattering on me as i have thin lips.

oops, i've ordered some lip liners from Zoeva, in a darker pink/purple and a berry red and lip crayons in similar colours. Shipping from Germany via DHL is only £2.50. ive used them recently before and the service/ eye products and brushes are amazing

just going back through and love the look of matte inks. what are they like to wear, do they set quickly like Nars power matte ? Are they drying, or pliable?

Ive since binned my Nars and have been off mattes since then - i had bought a colour last year in the sale and my kids said i looked like a vampire!

Its quite a neutral pinky nude @deathraystare, I don't think there is any blue in it. Todays is NYX powder puff lippie in Prank Call. Looks a lot darker in my mirror than in the photo. Really like this but it feels a bit dry on my lips today. Had to add a bit of lip balm on the top.

It sounds like you probably have warm colouring @Tazers, I would think a nice coral or peachy toned nude would really suit you. I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions though as I sadly can't wear those colours.

Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Petal. First wear of this one today.

@onwheels not used the NARS one so can't compare. But they set fast and don't budge. Done of the pinky and red shades need a small top up after eating. I have to apply vaseline and leave it for a few mins to shift it at night.

I don't find them drying at all. They are usually cheaper on Amazon (£5ish) so might be worth buy one to try.

Today I'm wearing revlon hyper matte mat intense (what a mouthful!) in red hot. Not worn it fir a while and I'm loving it today.
