Best S&B discovery of 2020?

Mine was definitely the Korean face cloths for exfoliating. No more spending loads on expensive body exfoliators or having to do a big fake tan removal every week.

Now I just do a quick rub all over with one of these and my normal body wash every shower and my body is always lovely and smooth and ready for my next fake tan application.

So thank you to everyone who recommended them!

My Korean clothes never arrived, an Amazon purchase. Thanks for reminding me.

Best purchase of 2020: Clarins facial tanning drops.

Purplecatshopaholic · 31/12/2020 12:35

My dermatica tret subscription.

RupertRupertTheBear · 31/12/2020 12:41

This may be an unpopular opinion!

Most of the stuff doesn't make any difference. Bog standard cleanser, moisturiser & sunscreen is just as good without all the fancy serums etc.
I'm going to use up what I've got but not buy any more.

TwirlingTwizzler · 31/12/2020 13:44

Yep I'm going with tret from Dermatica too. In two months the redness on my face has massively improved.

Thick core style leggings from Morrisons which were £11. God I love them and will get more colours. They look great either casual or for work with a long top. I get asked about them every time I wear them.

Jack wills skinny joggers £28 in the sale I bought them for dd1 (11) and me (41) they are soooo comfortable but really flattering I wear them a lot on the school run etc and don't feel scruffy in trackies.

Stopping with using any conditioner in the shower for dd1 and me. I have realised it seriously causes spots. We are now using just shampoo and then leave in for dd (Aussie spray miracle moist amazing product) and argon oil for me but obviously put in hair after we are dressed. Hair less greasy and skin much better. I used some hair food mask the other night after nothing for a few weeks and it really bothered my scalp and skin. Never again!!

Turnedouttoes · 31/12/2020 14:05

Oohh I like the sound of those leggings! Need to track down a Morrison’s with a clothing section, I’ve only ever seen tiny ones near us

Tubing Mascara!

Precise, no smudge or clumps just clean natural looking!

Fantastic!!

nevernotstruggling · 31/12/2020 14:18

@Turnedouttoes I get excited now about supermarket clothing sections since that's all there is intermittently!! They are super high waisted with a lovely wide waistband. I should have bought more....

Laquila · 31/12/2020 14:21

Rimmel eyebrow mascara - brilliant and cheap! (Similar to Boy Brow)

nevernotstruggling · 31/12/2020 14:25

@Laquila omg whaaat?

Ponks · 31/12/2020 14:33

Best purchase of the year by far are my Sweaty Betty power leggings. So expensive but they make me feel good , look good, and are great to run or work out in.

Also got some Hush velour skinnies which again are so comfortable and yet flattering.

Skincare wise I have spent a fortune trying expensive serums and moisturisers etc. But I think I'm with Rupert upthread, there has been no great improvement, I think sleep and a good diet make more of a difference for me. I'll keep using Medik8 vitamin c and No7 moisturiser.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 31/12/2020 15:17

Yes my discovery is the Boots No 7 Protect and perfect intense advanced range and Boots advanced retinol. Its all making a visible difference to my late 40's skin. It seems to be just the right daily strength I need.

I tried the protect and perfect range a good few years ago and didnt really think much of it then but I'm more into skin care now and also now use acids and have better cleansers and facewash.

Tehmina23 · 31/12/2020 15:28

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Root Booster blow dry lotion for fine hair £6 - I spray it into the roots of my fine hair before using a hairdryer & it really makes a difference.

Perfectil Hair extra support supplements £19 for a month's supply - my hair seems to be growing more since I started taking these, also my facial skin is more oily & much less dry, my nails grow long without splitting & breaking now.

Tehmina23 · 31/12/2020 15:31

@FlyingByTheSeatof I'm 44 & use the Protect & Perfect night cream, day cream & eye cream, it really suits my skin.
However I use Clinique smart repair serum as I bought it on an offer months ago and it's still going, because it's so concentrated I only use a tiny bit at a time.

SpeckledyHen · 31/12/2020 15:52

Love Leggings leggings. Petite length, high waist, great quality, autumn colours. Love them .

QueenPawPaws · 31/12/2020 15:54

Skin and me prescription
Camo jacket reduced to a tenner that goes with every day stuff so well
Not new but rediscovered rapid lash

FlyingByTheSeatof · 31/12/2020 17:12

@Tehmina23 I'm using the Boots Advanced retinol which I'm happy with and do notice a difference. I've just starting using Sunday Riley Luna sleeping night oil which I'm less impressed with (I got it in an Advent Calender) on nights I decide not to use Boots retinol.

The P&P day and night cream and their serum are perfect for me. I do have lots of other moisturisers etc to use up from my Beauty AC and boxes but the P&P range are the ones I would choose to buy for myself esp when on offer.

I also love my new 2020 purchase of Hado Labo HA and use 2 drops of it in moisturiser, Superdrug Simply Pure Serum or an essence if I feel dehydrated.

Face washes I discovered this year and I love are Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel and Cerave SA (bought for my DC but I like to use once in a while) with an all important face cloth.

Laquila · 31/12/2020 22:07

@nevernotstruggling I love it!! I use the lightest colour (I think there are three) and I like it because it's reasonably subtle but not reddish-toned.

Melange99 · 31/12/2020 22:21

Urban Decay All Nighter Fixing Spray - really does fix make up in place for the long haul.

I have bought a lot of products this year but the above is my only award winner.

Scumble · 31/12/2020 22:23

Bit late to it really, but Clinique Take The Day Off. It's so easy to remove eye makeup with it.

elsielegallez · 31/12/2020 22:26

Eye lash serum - UKLash - I was a doubter but it has massively improved the length and volume of my lashes!

JacobReesMogadishu · 31/12/2020 22:28

The revlon volumiser heated brush.
Also Boots retinol.

AnnabelDickson · 31/12/2020 22:39

Boots cheapy black and gold version of Philips lumea. I've had really good results, one of the few things I've bought I'd actually recommend.

LunaNorth · 31/12/2020 22:45

Air and Grace trainers - things of beauty and so comfortable.

Sweaty Betty sports gear. Expensive but worth it.

Il Makiage concealer. Excellent colour matching.

Valentte bath and shower products. Natural and gorgeous-smelling.

nevernotstruggling · 31/12/2020 22:59

@Laquila thank you xxx

I think eye lash serums are much of a muchness but they seem to work now. Back in the day I tried rapid lash and lipocils and nothing but this year some results
