Best S&B discovery of 2020?

Mine was definitely the Korean face cloths for exfoliating. No more spending loads on expensive body exfoliators or having to do a big fake tan removal every week.

Now I just do a quick rub all over with one of these and my normal body wash every shower and my body is always lovely and smooth and ready for my next fake tan application.

So thank you to everyone who recommended them!

Jo malone advent calender worth every penny

Tehmina23 · 01/01/2021 11:26

Oh yes Urban Decay eyeshadow in Baked - nice sparkly colour & doesn't irritate my eyes!

LightOfAThousandStars · 01/01/2021 11:38

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume, clears up redness and inflammation like nothing else. When I started Skin+Me and had reactivate skin this was the only thing that helped heal my skin barrier.

Laquila · 01/01/2021 12:43

@LightOfAThousandStars I am literally applying the LEP Baume right now! Love that stuff.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/01/2021 12:48

Dermatica for my hyperpigmentation. I agree with pp who said a lot of skincare is basically bobbins though.

The list of products that actually work is short.

Everley · 01/01/2021 13:31

Cliniscept - I have cystic acne on the back of my neck, into my hairline. Completely changed my life.

Itwasgoodwhileitlasted · 01/01/2021 13:34

Barbara Sturm face mask. Takes a year off me!

Coffeepot72 · 01/01/2021 13:43

NARS tinted moisturiser.

And the discovery that pink colour corrector is far better for my dark under eye circles than any concealer I’ve tried.

Coffeepot72 · 01/01/2021 14:07

And Laura Mercier Translucent powder

PusheenLove · 01/01/2021 14:57

Love this thread!

For me, it's been the Dyson Airwrap (fell in love after one session).
Loreal clay face masks - esp the blue one.
CT Foundation (My HG!)
ABH eyeshadow palettes - all of them.

@Purplecatshopaholic and @TwirlingTwizzler what is a dermatica tret subscription?? And is it for problematic skin or general aging?

@nevernotstruggling Do you mean 'cord' style leggings? Can you link? Also, is the Aussie spray miracle moist a leave-in conditioner? What do you like about it?

@ruthieness what's the cheapest tubing mascara you can recommend? (I alays go cheap with mascara as I wear falsies).

@Coffeepot72 I love NARS tinted moisturiser! A second to CT of course.

Illegally18 · 01/01/2021 15:09

May I ask which pink brightener you use, coffeepot?

nevernotstruggling · 01/01/2021 15:32

@PusheenLove these are the cord leggings

nutmeg.morrisons.com/en/black-cord-legging

The Aussie spray conditioner is the only detangler worth bothering with for dd1 long fine wavy hair. It's very effective but light and not greasy nor does it make the hair dull or sticky

ruthieness · 01/01/2021 16:05

Only tried one tubing mascara so far - no 7 stay perfect. about £10

Purplecatshopaholic · 01/01/2021 16:08

A subscription for Tretinoin from Dermatica op. You pay monthly for the tretinoin and get it through the post. It’s brilliant stuff

TwirlingTwizzler · 01/01/2021 16:32

@PusheenLove

If you google Dermatica it's really easy to sign up. I use it for anti-ageing, redness and pigmentation. You send pictures of your face and the dermatologists scrutinise them and send you out a regular prescription every 28 days.

It's £19.99 a month withP&P on top but it works, not immediately, it's a marathon not a sprint. Basically tretinoin speeds up regeneration on the skin. You do have to wear factor 50 even at this time of year, wish id signed up before I did.

Coffeepot72 · 01/01/2021 16:45

@Illegally18 the first pink corrector I tried was the Sleek range from Boots, only £6.99 and it’s very good, it’s a pale pink that lightens my dark areas. I also bought the Chanel Correcteur in Rose, which is also a pale pink and has a bit more staying power than the Sleek product.

I spent years trying to cover the darkness and the pink corrector is a game changer, it negates the need for concealer.

Violetroselily · 01/01/2021 16:48

Garnier banana hair food mask - i use it a couple of times a week instead of conditioner and my swim ravaged hair feels lovely

Kiehls ultra facial cream

Hourglass ghost edit palette (2019 holiday palette i think) makes my skin looks great on video calls with minimal effort required

ChiaraMontague · 01/01/2021 17:08

Cetaphil skincare - it’s done more for my rosacea flare ups than all the expensive stuff I was using before and they are so cheap in comparison!

I also realised that I don’t need to get my eyebrows tinted or shaped anything like as often as I was doing pre lockdown.

DianaT1969 · 01/01/2021 18:27

I fell for the hype and bought a Charlotte Tilbury mascara. Don't make the mistake. It's rubbish. It clumps and smudges, despite putting it on with a light hand. £25 wasted.

Good buy - Cantu hair cream. Gives weight, moisture and texture to slightly frizzy hair.

peaceanddove · 01/01/2021 20:16

Urban Decay eyeliner in Stray Dog. It's the perfect grey/taupe shade (with a tiny bit of shimmer) for blondes. It defines your eyes without looking harsh.

Coffeepot72 · 01/01/2021 20:46

@peaceanddove I can only find ‘stray dog’ as an eye shadow, not an eyeliner, do you have a link?

slipperyeel · 01/01/2021 22:48

Trinny BBF cream, I have bad rosacea and this doesn’t sting and just makes me look so much better.

DrFoxtrot · 01/01/2021 22:57

@Itwasgoodwhileitlasted I've just looked up the Barbara Sturm face mask and Shock at the price! How long does a pot last you?

Also seconding everyone who has mentioned Sweaty Betty and the Revlon heated brush.

Coffeepot72 · 02/01/2021 11:23

Which Revlon heated brush??

DrFoxtrot · 02/01/2021 17:29

Revlon Salon One- Step Volumizer for mid to long hair (2-in-1 styling tool, dryer and styler, IONIC TECHNOLOGY, Ceramic tourmaline coating), RVDR5222 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072VH43KL/ref=cmswwrcppapifabccu0k8FbQGNH09A?encoding=UTF8&psc=1

This is the one I have, I got it for £40 previously. I find it much easier to dry my hair without separate hairdryer and brush.
